“God Is Love”

July 31, 2019

“God Is Love”

Blessings folk!

We have been looking at the truth about the love of God.

John speaks much about it in 1 John.

He is very direct.

Read.
Listen.
Receive.

 1 Jo 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God;
and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Love is from God…more on that later…Hebrews has an amazing insight.
If we are “born of God”…if we are of God…then we will love with the love of God.
We will love one another.

John states it forthrightly.
Everyone who love in such a way is born of God.

The corollary is also true.

The one who does not love does not know God.

This is one of the ways we can know if someone is truly a believer.

Those who are not of God are unable to express the love of God.
They do not have such love.

Oh, they can be nice, faithful, religious, etc. etc.
But it is impossible for them to manifest what they do not have - the love of God.

Many are such in the organizational church today.
Frauds abound.

Be not a fraud.
Examine yourself to see if you are truly of the faith.

“The Children Are Obvious”

July 30, 2019

“The Children Are Obvious”

Blessings folk!

Now, hear the Word of the Lord related to the “practice of sin” and “love”.

1 Jo 3:9-10

No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him;
and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious:
anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God,
nor the one who does not love his brother.

If you are born of God you will not practice sin.
Sin will not be the pattern and practice of your behavior.

Why?

Because His seed…the very Lord Himself…abides in you!

You do not “need to sin”.

You cannot sin because you are born of God.

What does that mean?
If you do choose…and it is a choice…to sin…to step outside the abiding of the Lord, then Lord will convict of sin.

You will feel the conviction.
You will not sin with no emotion/conviction.

It is by this that we can determine the children of God or the children of the devil.
It is obvious.

If anyone does not practice righteousness, they are not of God.
If anyone does not love his brother, he is not of God.

Those of God will practice righteousness and love their brother.

“…To Destroy the Works of the Devil”

July 29, 2019

“…To Destroy the Works of the Devil”

Blessings folk!

The Lord keeps driving home the point…

1 Jo 3:7-8

Little children, make sure no one deceives you;
the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;

the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning.
The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

We are to make certain, by the power of the Spirit, that no one deceives us.
If someone practices righteousness, they are righteous.
Just as Jesus is righteous.

If someone practices sin, they are of the devil.

Then, this nugget…the devil has sinned from the beginning.

The beginning of what?

Hummm….

Jesus came for a purpose.
To destroy the works of the devil.

Be righteous as He.
Allow Him to destroy the works of the evil one.
Practice not sin.

“Jesus Appeared…”

Blessings folk!

Let us continue looking at the “love of God” and what we have seen about sin in 1 John.

1 Jo 3:5-6

You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.

No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.

Forget not these truths:

Jesus appeared to take away sin.
In Jesus there is no sin.
No one who abides in Jesus sins.
No one who sins…as a pattern and practice of behavior…has seen Jesus or knows Jesus.

“Sin Is Lawlessness”

July 27, 2019

“Sin Is Lawlessness”

Blessings folk!

We have seen that true Believers have their hope fixed on the Lord.

What about those who do not?

If one professes to be a believer, yet does not have their hope fixed in the Lord - then they sin.
If one is not a believer, then by definition, their hope is in something other than the Lord.

1 Jo 3:3-4

And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

Anyone who practices sins also practices lawlessness.
Sin is lawlessness.

Simple.
Direct.

Our practice and pattern of behavior is either that of the Lord or that of the world.
We either purify ourselves as He did, or we practice sin.

“Hope Fixed on Him”

July 26, 2019

“Hope Fixed on Him”

Blessings folk!

In “what” do you “hope”?

1 Jo 3:3
And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Our hope is fixed “on Him”.
On the Lord Jesus.

Any other “hope” is not true “hope”.
Any other “hope” is deception of the evil one.

What is the context of “this hope fixed on Him…”?

1 Jo 3:2
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be.
We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

Here are the truths for true Believers.
We are children of God.
We do not know as yet what we will be.
But we do know that when He appears we will be like Him.
We will be glorified.
We will be divine.

Such is our hope in the Lord.

We fix our hope on Him.
We purify ourselves as He did.
We purify ourselves in Him.

“Great Love Bestowed”

July 25, 2019

“Great Love Bestowed”

Blessings folk!

How much does God love those who believe?

1 Jo 3:1

See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us,
that we would be called children of God; and such we are.
For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

The Love of God is great.
The Love of God is bestowed upon those who believe.
So great that we are called “children of God”.

Note it is for this reason that the world does not know us.
They are not of God because they do not believe.
They are of the world.
They do not know us because we are not of the world.

There is much more to this than might appear with a surface consideration and understanding.

1 Jo 3:2

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be.
We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.

When Jesus appears, we will be like Him.
Like Him?
John acknowledges that “it has not appeared as yet what we will be…”
We do know this.
We will be like Him.
We will see Him just as He is.

What does that mean?

Hang on…

It means that we will be “divine”.
The word used most often is “glorified”.
We will have a glorified body.
We will live forever.
We will be with Him.
We will have pressed on to Eden.
New heaven.
New earth.
God…
His creation…
Divine beings…
Human beings…
All together as He designed from the beginning.

July 24, 2019

“Walk In the Same Manner"

Blessings folk!

The Lord repeatedly tells us to keep His commandments.

How do we do so?

1Jo 2:4-6

The one who says,
“I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar,
and the truth is not in him;

but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected.
By this we know that we are in Him:

the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

We keep His commandments by keeping His Word.
We keep His commandments by abiding in Him.

How do we know that we are abiding in Him?

We walk in the same manner as He walked.
Whoa!

We walk like Jesus did.
We live like Jesus did.
We act like Jesus did.
We react like Jesus did.

Abide in Him.
Walk as He did.

“Liar”

Blessings folk!

We continue to look at the “love of God” in the Word.

1 John says much about love…
Love of God
Love of others

Hear the Word of the Lord…

1Jo 2:3-5b

By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.

The one who says,
“I have come to know Him,”
and does not keep His commandments, is a liar,
and the truth is not in him;

but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected.

If someone says they love God…
Yet, they do not keep His commandments…
Then, that person is a liar.
The truth is not in them.

But, if he keeps His Word, then in him the love of God has truly been perfected/completed.

Do we keep His commandments…especially, “love one another”?
Note the plural…commandments.

You can not say you “love God”, yet not keep His commandments.

“…Not On the Basis of Deeds…”

July 22, 2019

“…Not On the Basis of Deeds…”

Blessings folk!

Yesterday we saw that the Lord saved us…

Tit 3:3-5a

For we also once were
foolish ourselves,
disobedient,
deceived,
enslaved to various lusts and pleasures,
spending our life in malice and envy,
hateful,
hating one another.

But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,

He saved us,…

Now, read the “who, what, when, where, why, how” of our salvation.

Tit 3:5b-7

…not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness,
but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs
according to the hope of eternal life.

Salvation is not based on any deeds that we have done to attain righteousness.
The Word is clear about this.

Salvation comes according to the mercy of the Lord
Salvation comes by the washing of regeneration.
Salvation comes by the renewing of the Holy Spirit.

All poured out richly through Jesus Christ our Savior.

We are justified by His grace.
We are made heirs.

All according to the hope of eternal life.

Our hope…our eternal life…lies in all that Jesus has/will do.

“We Once Were…”

Blessings folk!

The Love of God…

What has God done in His love?

Tit 3:4-5
But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,

He saved us,…

It was the kindness of God..our Savior…
It was His love for mankind…
It was when His kindness and love appeared that He saved us.

Saved from what?

The previous verse tells us…

Tit 3:3
For we also once were
foolish ourselves,
disobedient,
deceived,
enslaved to various lusts and pleasures,
spending our life in malice and envy,
hateful,
hating one another.

Look at that list again.

This is who we were.

This is who you are if you have not received the salvation of the Lord.

Then, verse 4 starts with “but”…one of the most powerful words in Scripture.

Tomorrow we will look at “how” we are saved.

For today, rejoice if you are saved.

“Love. Steadfastness.”

Blessings folk!

Read what Paul said to the Thessalonians about the Love of God.

He was closing his second letter to them…well, the second of the two we have in the Word.

Give close heed…

2 Th 3:5
May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

We have seen much about the Love of God.

This sets us free!

The Lord Himself will direct our hearts into the Love of God.
He will guide.
He will open.
He will direct.

If we allow.
If we do not quench.

There is more.

The Lord Himself will direct us into the steadfastness of Christ.

Steadfastness does not come from the flesh of man.
Steadfastness comes from Christ moving through Believers.

Live in the Love of God.

July 19, 2019

“Make It Your Ambition”

Blessings folk!

Paul told the Thessalonians…and us…to excel even more in love for one another.

1 Th 4:9-10

Now as to the love of the brethren,
you have no need for anyone to write to you,
for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia.
But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more,

Paul continues the thought…and sentence…by giving more instruction.

1 Th 4:11-12
and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you,

so that you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.

Love will manifest in deed.

A quiet life…not raucous, not rowdy, not seeking disruption, etc.

Attending to our own business…not busy-bodies, not nosey

Working with our own hands…not lazy, not slothful, not presumptive

Behave properly toward outsiders…those not of the faith.

So that you will not be in need.

So many that profess to be believers live in the wrong way (especially among leadership).

Let us cease…
Laziness
Busy-bodiness
Slothfulness

Have the proper ambition in the Spirit.

“Love the Brethren”

July 18, 2019

“Love the Brethren”

Blessings folk!

The Love of God teaches us.

It teaches us to love one another.

1Th 4:9

Now as to the love of the brethren,
you have no need for anyone to write to you,
for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

They already knew about the love of the brethren.
They had no need for anyone to write and exhort them.
They have been taught by God to love one another.

Think on that.

They were taught by God to love one another.

Why do so many within the organized “church” not love one another?

Because they are not of God.

They profess to be, but they are not.

They have not been redeemed/saved.

They are trying to live a good, religious life by the power of the flesh.

That never works.

Those that are truly saved have the Holy Spirit.

We love one another because we are of the same Spirit.

Why was Paul writing to them about this?

The next verse tells us.

1Th 4:10
for indeed you do practice it toward all the brethren who are in all Macedonia.
But we urge you, brethren, to excel still more,

They practiced love for the brethren through the region - Macedonia.

Paul was urging them to excel even more.

We should do likewise.

Excel more in love.

If you do not love, examine yourself to see if you are truly of the faith.

If you do not love, you are not of the faith.

2 Co 13:5
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!

1 Jo 4:20
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar;
for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen,
cannot love God whom he has not seen.

“Labor of Love”

July 17, 2019

“Labor of Love”

Blessings folk!

Paul, in writing to the Body in the region of Thessalonica, made mention of how love is a labor.
Love can be work.

1 Th 1:2-4

We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers;

constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father,

knowing, brethren beloved by God, His choice of you;

Paul thanked God for them.
Paul mentioned them in his prayers.
Paul speaks of three things that he constantly had in his mind related to them…

  1. Their work of faith
  2. Their labor of love
  3. Their steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ

All in the presence of our God and Father.
All with the knowledge that they were beloved by God.
All with the knowledge that they are chosen by God.

Do we know this?
Do we realize who we are in the Lord?

Do we have “work of faith”?
Do we “labor in love”?
Do we have “steadfastness of hope” in the Lord?

Anything else is not a true work/life of the Kingdom.

“Love With Faith”

July 16, 2019

“Love With Faith”

Blessings folk!

We continue examining the Word related to the “love of God”.

Much is said.

Consider this…

Eph 6:23-24

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Paul is closing a letter to the Body in the region of Ephesus.

He speaks things over them.

He speaks peace to/upon the brethren.

He speaks love upon them.
Love with faith.
That is an interesting statement - love with faith.

Love does require faith.
Love with faith is entirely different from the love of the world.

Consider…

Heb 11:1

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Love based on the assurance of things hoped for.
Love based upon the conviction of things not seen.

Love with faith can only come from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Why?

Because our faith is in God.

Therefore, love with faith.
Love assured.
Love convicted
Love with the incorruptible love of the Lord.

Blessings folk!

The Love of God.

We have seen much.

Now, read the following.

Note what the Love of God does…

Eph 3:14-19

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,

from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,

that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith;
and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is
the breadth
and length
and height
and depth,

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

We are rooted and ground in the Love of Christ.
The Love that surpasses knowledge.
The Love far beyond that which man/world can understand.

Yet, the Love that we can comprehend.

Did you see that?

Since Christ dwells in our hearts through faith, we are able comprehend the Love of Christ.
The breath.
The length.
The height.
The depth.

Not only comprehend.
We know the Love of Christ!

“Were? Are?”

July 14, 2019

“Were? Are?”

Blessings folk!

This passage bears reflection for the balance of our lives.

Read once again.

Look at the big picture.

Who were we before…?
Who are we now…?

Eph 2:1-7

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,

in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh,
indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind,
and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

even when we were dead in our transgressions,
made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

We were…

  • Dead in trespasses
  • Dead in sins
  • Walking according to the course/pattern of the world
  • Walking according to the “prince of the power of the air”… satan
  • Walking according to the spirit of the sons of disobedience…sons of God that rebelled against God?
  • Lived in the lusts of our flesh
  • Indulged the desires of the flesh
  • Indulged the desires of the mind
  • By nature children of wrath

Who we are…as True Believers…
  • Made alive together with Christ
  • Saved by grace
  • Raised up with Christ
  • Seated with Father in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus
  • Recipients of the grace and kindness of the Lord

The Word: Episode 0893 1 John 5:5-8

“When You Were…”

July 11, 2019

“When You Were…”

Blessings folk!

How much did/does God love us?
How much did/does God love you?

Read the following…we will discuss over a couple of days…

When we were dead in our trespasses.
When we were dead in sin.
When we walked according to the course of this world.
When we walked according to the prince of the power of the air…satan/evil.
When we were children of wrath as the rest of the world.

Then, God loved us with His great love…

“Grace. Love. Fellowship.”

July 10, 2019

“Grace. Love. Fellowship.”

Blessings folk!

Paul was closing a letter to the Body of Christ in Corinth.

Note what he tells them to do…”be”…
Note how he closes the letter and what is said about “the love of God”.

2 Co 13:11-14

Finally, brethren,
rejoice,
be made complete,
be comforted,
be like-minded,
live in peace;
and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Greet one another with a holy kiss.

All the saints greet you.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
and the love of God,
and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with you all.

They were exhorted to rejoice.

Then, he told them to “be”…

  • Complete
  • Comforted
  • Like-minded
  • At peace

What would be the outcome?
The love of God and His peace would be with them.

If we do not have the love of God and His peace perhaps it is because we are not doing as instructed by Him.

Then, a “trinitarian” proclamation of good bye.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ…
The love of God…
The fellowship of the Holy Spirit…
Be with you all.

How different the Body of Christ would be if we lived this way.

Let us do so.

“Finally…”

July 9, 2019

“Finally…”

Blessings folk!

We have seen/learned much about the love of God.

How He loves us.
How we are to love Him.

The Lord does not withhold His love.
But, there are things that can restrict, quench, etc. His love.

2Co 13:11

Finally, brethren,
rejoice,
be made complete,
be comforted,
be like-minded,
live in peace;
and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Reread.

What are the brethren told to do?

Firstly, rejoice!!
In all things.
At all times.
Rejoice.

Then…”be”…
Complete
Comforted
Like-minded.

Then “live”…
In peace.

The outcome if we do so?
The God of love and peace will be with you.

The outcome is we do not?

Selah!

Hebrews Part 3 - Lesson 5

Hebrews Part 3 - Lesson 5

The Word: Episode 0890 1 John 4:14-17

“Separate From the Love of God?”

July 8, 2019

“Separate From the Love of God?”

Blessings folk!

As a true Believer do you ever feel distant from the love of God?
Separated?
Alone?

Sin will cause this.
The lies of enemy…believed…will cause this.
God will not do this.

How do I know?

Rom 8:35-39

Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Just as it is written,
“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;
WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
What can separate us from the love of God?

No one!
Nothing!

Not…
Tribulation
Distress
Persecution
Famine
Nakedness
Peril
Sword

Note…these things will occur to true believers.
But, they will not separate us from God.

Are you convinced as Paul was?

Neither…
Death
Life
Angels
Principalities
Things present
Things to come
Powers
Height depth
Any created thing

Nothing will separate us from the love of God.

These things will come, still there is no fear.

We are in the love of God.

The Word: Episode 0889 1 John 4:10-14

“In This Is Love…”

July 7, 2019

“In This Is Love…”

Blessings folk!

We are to love God.

Not because we first loved Him.

Because He first loved us…

1Jo 4:10
In this is love, not that we loved God,
but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

He loved us.
He sent His Son to expiate our sins.

He did so when we were in a sorry state…

Rom 5:6-8

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

For one will hardly die for a righteous man;
though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Helpless.
Sinners.
Then, Christ died for us.
The Righteous for the unrighteous.
The Perfect for sinners.
God for the ungodly.

This is love.

May we love with His love that He releases within ever true Believer.

“Love of God Poured Out”

July 6, 2019

“Love of God Poured Out”

Blessings folk!

Hear the Good News!

Rom 5:1-5

Therefore, having been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations,
knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

If we have been justified by faith…therefore…

  • We have peace with God through Jesus Christ
  • We have obtained our introduction by faith into His grace
  • We stand in His grace
  • We exult in hope of the glory of God
  • We exult in our tribulations
  • We know tribulations bring perseverance
    • Perseverance brings proven character
      • Proven character brings hope
        • Hope does not disappoint

Why?

Because the Love of God has been pure out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us.

The Love of God.
Poured out.
In every true believer.
Rejoice!

“You Do Not Have the Love of God”

July 5, 2019

“You Do Not Have the Love of God”

Blessings folk!

Jesus was speaking to the Jewish leadership who were seeking to kill Him.,

Jesus spoke of the love of God.
But, not in the way we have seen before. Jesus tells them that they do not have, nor do they know, the love of God.

Jhn 5:37-42

“And the Father who sent Me, He has testified of Me.
You have neither heard His voice at any time nor seen His form.

“You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent.

“You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life;
it is these that testify about Me;

and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.

“I do not receive glory from men;

but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.

They had not heard the voice of Father.
They had not seen the form of Father.
They did not have Father’s Word abiding in them.
Why?
Because they did not believe Him (Jesus) Who He (Father) sent.

They searched the Scripture thinking that they would find eternal life in them.
They were correct.
The Scripture testifies of Jesus.
They then reject Jesus.
They were unwilling to come to Jesus and receive eternal life.

Jesus knew them.
He told them.
They did not have the love of God in them.

Such are the Religionists.
They are many among us.
May they repent and receive the true love of God.

“Sickness and Disease”

July 4, 2019

“Sickness and Disease”

Blessings folk!

Well ugh!

We are sharing as a family a little sickness.

The Boy had it first.
Then Mommy.
Then Pepa.

Mema is avoiding us and claiming healing.
Smart move.

Hits very quickly.
Was fine at 6 pm.
Not so by 9.
But better now.

So, walk in the freedom of the Lord.
Walk in the liberty of the Lord.
Even in time of sickness and disease, trust in the Lord.

Yes Lord!
We believe.

Mat 4:23
Jesus was going throughout all Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.

 Mat 9:35
Jesus was going through all the cities and villages,
teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

 Mat 10:1
Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits,
to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

The same has been granted to His Body.

Let us live in it.

“Liberty"

July 3, 2019

“Liberty"

Blessings folk!

This time of year those of us in the united States of America (yeh, the capitalization is correct/intentional…learn why) remember the founding of the nation.

Words such as “freedom” and “liberty” are tossed about with no real understanding of their meaning nor application.

Remember, only true believers have freedom and liberty.

Regardless of political government upon the land, true liberty and freedom are only found in the Lord.

 Psa 119:45
And I will walk at liberty,
For I seek Your precepts.

 Isa 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,
Because the LORD has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;

Through the Lord Jesus we are at liberty.
We are no longer captive to sin.
We are not bound by the desire of the flesh and the world.

Through the Lord Jesus we are free.
We are no longer prisoners

We, True Believers, are filled with the Spirit of the Lord…

2 Co 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

We are literally walking, living, breathing vessels of liberty and freedom.

The Religionists hate this.
The last thing they want if for the Body of Christ to be set free to do as the Lord desires.

 Gal 2:4
But it was because of the false brethren secretly brought in,
who had sneaked in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus,
in order to bring us into bondage.

The Religionists want folk in bondage.
Those in bondage are easier to control.

But, fear not.
We are of liberty.

Jas 1:25
But one who looks intently at the perfect law,
the law of liberty,
and abides by it,
not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer,
this man will be blessed in what he does.

Abide in liberty.
Be an effectual doer of the liberty and freedom we have.

Remember…

Jas 2:12
So speak and so act as those who are to be judged by the law of liberty.

"The Word: Episode 0884 1 John 3:23-24

“They Disregard…”

July 2, 2019

“They Disregard…”

Blessings folk!

Read.
Note how Jesus references the “love of God”.

Luk 11:37-44

Now when He had spoken, a Pharisee asked Him to have lunch with him;
and He went in, and reclined at the table.

When the Pharisee saw it,
he was surprised that He had not first ceremonially washed before the meal.

But the Lord said to him,
“Now you Pharisees clean the outside of the cup and of the platter;
but inside of you, you are full of robbery and wickedness.

“You foolish ones, did not He who made the outside make the inside also?

“But give that which is within as charity, and then all things are clean for you.

“But woe to you Pharisees!
For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.

“Woe to you Pharisees!
For you love the chief seats in the synagogues
and the respectful greetings in the market places.

“Woe to you!
For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it.”

The Pharisees were more interested in the ceremony than they were in man.
They feigned a “religious walk” that was second to none.
Yet, many were frauds.

Nothing has changed.
Today, many Religionists, especially in “leadership position” do the same.
They simple fake it.
They are frauds.
They are all about the ceremony (“worship services”, “meetings”, etc).
Yet, they do not do the basics of the faith.
They disregard true justice.
They disregard the love of God.

Think on that.
They disregard the love of God.

That explains a lot.

There is a feigned “love” of people, but it is not authentic.
Such love feeds into an agenda.

An agenda of power, prestige, position, money, fame, control, etc.

Such is not the way of the Lord.

The way of the Lord is the love of God.

Any other way is not the truth.

Love God.
Love one another.

Hebrews Part 3 - Lesson 4

Hebrews Part 3 - Lesson 4

The Word: Episode 0883 1 John 3:18-22

“Heart, Soul, Mind”

July 1, 2019

“Heart, Soul, Mind”

Blessings folk!

Three gospels tell us to love the Lord…

Mat 22:37
And He said to him,
“ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'

 Mar 12:30
AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND,
AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'

 Luk 10:27
And he answered,
“YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH,
AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND;
AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

Matthew and Mark show Jesus quoting from the Old Testament.
Luke reveals a lawyer quoting the passage.

The Lord makes it clear.
We are to love Him.

So, what is so hard about that?

There are many temptations away from the Lord.

Here is a primary one…

Mat 6:24
“No one can serve two masters;
for either he will hate the one and love the other,
or he will be devoted to one and despise the other.
You cannot serve God and wealth.

Jesus said this.

The temptation to “love” wealth will draw us away from the true love of the Lord.

Be careful.

Serve the Lord alone.
Love Him alone.
