“Pretext for Greed”

November 30, 2019

“Pretext for Greed”

Blessings folk!

In this season of materialistic excess, another thought related to greed.

Believers are told to “beware of/be on guard against” every form of greed.

Read…

1Th 2:5-6
For we never came with flattering speech,
as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness—

nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others,
even though as apostles of Christ we might have asserted our authority.

We know this.
Many come with flattering speech with a pretext for greed.
They speak and claim the truths of the gospel, yet their motivation is greed.
Look no further than the pulpits.

The Lord warned us through Peter…

2Pe 2:1-3
But false prophets also arose among the people,
just as there will also be false teachers among you,
who will secretly introduce destructive heresies,
even denying the Master who bought them,
bringing swift destruction upon themselves.

Many will follow their sensuality,
and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned;

and in their greed they will exploit you with false words;
their judgment from long ago is not idle,
and their destruction is not asleep.

Greed is the motivation for the exploitation.
False prophets.
False teachers.
Destructive heresies.
Truth maligned.
Judgment will come.
Destruction will be the outcome.

2Pe 2:14
having eyes full of adultery that never cease from sin, enticing unstable souls,
having a heart trained in greed, accursed children;

Eyes full of adultery.
Hearts trained in greed.

Think on that.
Trained in greed.

Open your eyes.
Allow the Spirit to reveal.
What do you see?

Be not of those who have hearts trained in greed.

“Greed”

November 29, 2019

“Greed”

Blessings folk!

Ah, today is one of the bigger secular “holidays=holy-day” - “Black Friday”.

My understanding is that it was originally called “black friday” because this was the time of year that businesses “moved into the black”…began to make money after expenses, etc.

Who knows?

I do know this.

There is nothing wrong with seeking “a good deal”.
There is nothing wrong with making the best use of the resources granted by the Lord.

There is much wrong with greed.

The Lord tells us…

Luk 12:15
Then He said to them, “Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”

Rom 1:28-29a
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer,
God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil;…

Believers are warned…

Eph 5:3
But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you,
as is proper among saints;

 Col 3:5
Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.

So…
Beware
Be on guard against every form of greed
Let not greed be named among you
Consider your earthly body to be dead to greed

Examine yourself.

“Thanksgiving Proclamation”

November 28, 2019

“Thanksgiving Proclamation”

Blessings folk!

President George Washington’s proclamation of thanksgiving as per the request of Congress for such…

Thanksgiving Proclamation
[New York, 3 October 1789]

By the President of the United States of America. a Proclamation.

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God,
to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor—and whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me “to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.”

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be—That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks—for his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nation—for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war—for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed—for the peaceable and rational manner, in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted—for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions—to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually—to render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed—to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord—To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and us—and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

Given under my hand at the City of New-York
the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.
Go: Washington

Now we pardon turkeys.

“We Ought Always…”

November 26, 2019

“We Ought Always…”

Blessings folk!

Give thanks to God…for one another…

Hear the Word of the Lord through Paul to the Body in Thessaloniki…

2 Th 1:3-4

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater;

therefore, we ourselves speak proudly of you among the churches of God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure.

Alway give thanks for the brethren.
It is fitting.

Why?

Because our faith is enlarged…growing.
Because our love toward one another is growing greater.

Therefore, speak proudly…

  • Of the perseverance exhibited
  • Of the faith we have

Note the circumstance…
Persecutions
Afflictions.

May we do as they were doing.

Thanking.
Loving.
Exhorting.
Persevering.
Enduring.

“Ascribe To The Lord”

November 25, 2019

“Ascribe To The Lord”

Blessings folk!

In 1 Chronicles 16 we find a tremendous Psalm of thanksgiving.

We have been reading it.

Remember what David had instructed…

1Ch 16:4

He appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the LORD,
even to celebrate and to thank and praise the LORD God of Israel:

 1Ch 16:7

Then on that day David first assigned Asaph and his relatives to give thanks to the LORD.

David was setting up a structure of continual, round-the-clock, praise unto the Lord.

David was giving them insight as to “how to praise” the Lord.

Keep that in mind.

He shows by doing.

So should we.

There are too many who stand and talk (read) about “what we are to do”, yet there is no evidence of personal application nor example.

David was not such.

He did what he said.
True leaders do so.
You will know them by their fruit.

1Ch 16:27-29

Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and joy are in His place.

Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him;
Worship the LORD in holy array.

David reminds them/us more about Who God is…
Splendor!
Majesty!
Strength!
Joy!

Then, he tells them/us what to do…
“Ascribe to the Lord…”
“Ascribe” means “go give”.

So…
Give to the Lord the glory He deserves.
Glory!
Strength!

Bring an offering.
Come before Him.
Worship the Lord in holy array

This we are to do.
Do we?

November 24, 2019

“Above All Gods”

Blessings folk!

Give thanks unto the Lord.

Do the following…

1 Ch 16:23-26

Sing to the LORD, all the earth;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.

Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised;
He also is to be feared above all gods.

For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the LORD made the heavens.

Sing to the Lord.
Proclaim His salvation.
Tell of His glory.
Tell of His wonderful deeds.

Praise the Lord.
Fear the Lord above all gods…yes, there are other gods.
The Lord made the heavens…and the other gods.

Great is He.
Worship.

“Make Known His Deeds…”

November 23, 2019

“Make Known His Deeds…”

Blessings folk!

One of the greatest Psalms of Thanksgiving in the Word is not found in the book of Psalms.

Let’s look at it…

1 Ch 16:8-13

Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.

Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.

Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.

Seek the LORD and His strength;
Seek His face continually.

Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done,
His marvels and the judgments from His mouth,

O seed of Israel His servant,
Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!

Look what we are to do…

  • Give thanks to the Lord
  • Call upon His Name
  • Make know His deeds among the peoples
  • Sing to Him
  • Sing praises to Him
  • Speak of His wonders
  • Glory in His Holy Name
  • Seek the Lord
  • Be glad
  • Seek His strength
  • Seek His face continually
  • Remember His wonderful deed
  • Remember His marvels
  • Remember His judgments

Do we do this?
Do we give thanks?
Do we praise?
Do we make known/proclaim His deeds?

“With My Song I Shall Thank Him”

November 22, 2019

“With My Song I Shall Thank Him”

Blessings folk!

Give thanks to the Lord.
In all things.
At all times.

In Psalm 28, David is crying for help to the Lord.

One Bible has a heading for the Psalm - “A Prayer For Help, And Praise For Its Answer”.

I like that.

Psa 28:6-7

Blessed be the LORD,
Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.

The LORD is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him.

The Lord will hear.

May we know…

  • That the Lord is our strength
  • That the Lord is our shield
  • That our heart can trust in the Lord
  • That the Lord is our help

Then, may we…
  • Exult with all our heart
  • Give Him thanks with our song

“Give Thanks"

November 21, 2019

“Give Thanks"

Blessings folk!

We are in a special season of “giving thanks”.

Even the world acknowledges the need to “give thanks”, though they are very unclear as to whom the thanks is owed/given.

Giving thanks to the Most High brings joy.

Psa 92:1-4

A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD
And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;

To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning
And Your faithfulness by night,

With the ten-stringed lute and with the harp,
With resounding music upon the lyre.

For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done,
I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands.

It is good…

  • To give thanks to the Lord
  • To sing praises to His Name
  • To declare His lovingkindness in the morning
  • To declare His faithfulness by night
  • To do so with instruments and voice

It is the Lord that has made us glad…

“How Blessed Are Those Who Dwell In Your House”

November 20, 2019

“How Blessed Are Those Who Dwell In Your House”

Blessings folk!

Are you rejoicing in the Lord?

Are you dwelling in the Presence of His joy?

Do you live in His dwelling place?

Read the Word of the the Lord from the sons of Korah…

Psa 84:1-4

For the choir director;
on the Gittith.
A Psalm of the sons of Korah.

How lovely are Your dwelling places,
O LORD of hosts!

My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD;
My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

The bird also has found a house,
And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,
Even Your altars, O LORD of hosts,
My King and my God.

How blessed are those who dwell in Your house!
They are ever praising You.
Selah.

This is the beginning of a Psalm written by the sons of Korah.
It was sent to the choir director, therefore likely intended to be sung.
The Gittith is believed to be a stringed instrument.
So, an instrumental Psalm accompanied by a string instrument.

The declaration from the beginning is a statement of the loveliness of the dwelling places of the Lord of hosts!

The Psalmist’s soul longs and yearned for the courts of the Lord, for His Presence.

The Psalmist’s heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

Even as the bird and swallow find rest and shelter in their places, our place of rest and shelter is in the joy of the Lord.

We are to dwell in His house.
We are to dwell in His Presence.
We are to live in His joy.
We are to praise Him.

“Shout For Joy”

Blessings folk!

Shout for joy unto the Lord!

Do you?
In all situations?
In all circumstances?

Psa 71:22-24

I will also praise You with a harp,
Even Your truth, O my God;
To You I will sing praises with the lyre,
O Holy One of Israel.

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You;
And my soul, which You have redeemed.

My tongue also will utter Your righteousness all day long;
For they are ashamed, for they are humiliated who seek my hurt.

Praise the Truth of the Lord.
Sing unto the Holy One.

Allow your redeemed soul to shout for joy and sing praises.

Utter the righteousness of the Lord all day long.

Such will send the enemy fleeing.
Shame and humiliation will come upon those who seek our hurt.

“My Exceeding Joy”

November 18, 2019

“My Exceeding Joy”

Blessings folk!

The joy of the Lord.

The joy of the Lord can be had by all believers, even in the most difficult of times.

Hear the Word of King David…

Psa 43:1-5

Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation;
O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man!

For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me?
Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me;
Let them bring me to Your holy hill
And to Your dwelling places.

Then I will go to the altar of God,
To God my exceeding joy;
And upon the lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God.

Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why are you disturbed within me?
Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.

David needed deliverance.
David desired vindication.
David knew that the Lord was his strength, yet David felt abandoned.
David cried for the Lord to send His Light and His truth to lead him.
David desired to go to the altar of God to praise Him.
David called God “my exceeding joy”…literally means “the gladness of my joy”.

Is the Lord God our exceeding joy…at all times?

Do what David did.
Examine yourself, honestly.
Hope in God.
The Lord will lift up your countenance.

“Sons of God Shouted for Joy"

Blessings folk!

The Lord has a family
A family consisting of divine beings.
A family consisting of human beings.

Both can express joy.

A portion of the divine beings did so at creation…

Job 38:4-7
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding,

Who set its measurements? Since you know.
Or who stretched the line on it?

“On what were its bases sunk?
Or who laid its cornerstone,

When the morning stars sang together
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

When the foundation of the earth was laid…
The morning stars sang together.
The sons of God shouted for joy!

Joy!
In the unseen realm of divine beings.

Joy!
In the seen realm of human beings.

“Rejoice, Righteous Ones”

Blessings folk!

The Joy of the Lord.

Live in it.
Manifest it.

Psa 32:11
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

 Psa 33:1
Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.

 Psa 33:3
Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.

How different would be if we…

  • Were glad in the Lord?
  • Rejoiced in the Lord?
  • Shout for joy?
  • Live upright of heart?
  • Sing for joy?
  • Praise the Lord?
  • Sing to the Lord a new song?
  • Play skillfully with a shout of joy?

Note the emotion.
God created us with emotion.

We will sing for joy over your victory,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners.
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.

And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me,
And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.

 Psa 30:5
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Joy!
In the victory of the Lord.

Joy!
When enemies are defeated.

Joy!
After an evening of weeping…

“Sing For Joy”

Blessings folk!

Choose joy!

Hear the Word of the Lord related to joy…

Psa 5:11
But let all who take refuge in You be glad,
Let them ever sing for joy;
And may You shelter them,
That those who love Your name may exult in You.

Psa 16:11
You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Take refuge in the Lord - be glad.
Sing for joy unto the Lord. The Lord shelters us.
Love the Lord.
Exult (rejoice greatly, be jubilant in triumph…especially in victory) in Him.

The Lord will make know to each of us the path of life.

It is only in the Presence of the Lord that there is fullness of joy.

All the things that bring us temporary, temporal, fleshly joy quickly fade.

November 13, 2019

“Rejoice in the Lord Always”

Blessings folk!

Rejoice in the Lord!

When?

Phl 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

We are to rejoice in the Lord always.

We are not necessarily “rejoicing” in situation nor circumstance.

We are rejoicing in the Lord!

In His Might.
In His Power.
In His Splendor.
In all that He is.

Rejoice in that.

Philippians is the great biblical letter of “how to have joy”.

Read it sometime.

Phl 3:1
Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord.
To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you.

Note the instructions to rejoice are written to Believers.

We can choose to not rejoice.
We can choose to rejoice.

“O Lord…Contend…”

November 12, 2019

“O Lord…Contend…”

Blessings folk!!

Rejoice in the Lord…

Psa 35:9

And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD;
It shall exult in His salvation.

Does your soul rejoice in the Lord?
Does it rejoice only in good times?

Now, read the context…

Psa 35:1-8

A Psalm of David.
Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me;
Fight against those who fight against me.

Take hold of buckler and shield
And rise up for my help.

Draw also the spear and the battle-axe to meet those who pursue me;
Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”

Let those be ashamed and dishonored who seek my life;
Let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.

Let them be like chaff before the wind,
With the angel of the LORD driving them on.

Let their way be dark and slippery,
With the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

For without cause they hid their net for me;
Without cause they dug a pit for my soul.

Let destruction come upon him unawares,
And let the net which he hid catch himself;
Into that very destruction let him fall.

David had people contending against him.
David called on the Lord to fight against those that fought against him.

David called for the Lord to:

  • Fight
  • Rise up to help
  • Shield
  • Draw the spear/battle axe
  • Declare to David that “I am your salvation”

David called upon the Lord to deal with his enemies:
  • Shame them
  • Dishonor them
  • Turn them back
  • Humiliate them
  • Drive them on
  • Be as chaff
  • Let their way be dark/slippery
  • Bring destruction upon them
  • Catch them in their own nets

You noted the call for the angel of the Lord to drive and pursue?

The Lord does the same today…

David rejoiced in this time.
So should we.

Fear not anything other than the Lord.

It is a decision.
It is a declaration of faith.

Rather, rejoice in the Lord.

A dear, local friend stated it well one day - “I choose joy…”.

That is it.

As Believers, we can choose to walk in the joy of the Lord or in the fear of man/circumstances.

Psa 40:16
Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
Let those who love Your salvation say continually,
“The LORD be magnified!”

Isa 25:9
And it will be said in that day,
“Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us.
This is the LORD for whom we have waited;
Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation.”

It will be said in that day…
It can be said today…

Rejoice in the Lord.

Fear not!

The Word: Episode 1103 Hebrews 12:4-11

“Fear the Lord…”

November 10, 2019

“Fear the Lord…”

Blessings folk!

Fear is not of the Lord.

We are to fear the Lord.

Psa 34:9
O fear the LORD, you His saints;
For to those who fear Him there is no want.

Yet many (a majority?) of professing believers are consumed with fear.
Fear of man.
Fear of situation/circumstance.
Fear of flesh.

Many have crossed over to idolatry.
They give greater heed to their fear than they do to the Lord.

We have addressed this before, but we do well to remember.

It has been said that “fear” is mentioned some 365 times in the Word - “one for each day of the year”.

Hear the Word of the Lord through David to his son Solomon relate to the building of the temple…

1 Ch 28:20
Then David said to his son Solomon,
“Be strong and courageous, and act;
do not fear nor be dismayed,
for the LORD God, my God, is with you.
He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the LORD is finished.

Let us take this instructions for ourselves.

Be strong.
Be courageous.
Act.
Do not fear.
Do not be dismayed.

Why?
How?

For the Lord God is with you.
The Lord will not fail you.
The Lord will not forsake you.

Until your work is done…
Until we see Him face to face…

“Now I Declare New Things…”

November 9, 2019

“Now I Declare New Things…”

Blessings folk!

Now, let us reread Is 42:1-7 with concluding verses 8-9.

Isa 42:1-9

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the nations.

“He will not cry out or raise His voice,
Nor make His voice heard in the street.

“A bruised reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;
He will faithfully bring forth justice.

“He will not be disheartened or crushed
Until He has established justice in the earth;
And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.”

Thus says God the LORD,
Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread out the earth and its offspring,
Who gives breath to the people on it
And spirit to those who walk in it,

“I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness,
I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You,
And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the nations,

To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon
And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

“I am the LORD, that is My name;
I will not give My glory to another,
Nor My praise to graven images.

“Behold, the former things have come to pass,
Now I declare new things;
Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.”

The Lord is the Lord.
He will not give His glory to any other.

Then this great statement of hope…
The former things have come to pass…
The Lord declares new things…
Before they spring forth He proclaims them to us…

The past is the past.
The Lord has/declares new things for each True Believer.
The Lord has planned them before He proclaims them to us.

Fear not.
Live in His plan!

The Word: Episode 1101 Hebrews 12:1-2

“I Have Called You…”

November 8, 2019

“I Have Called You…”

Blessings folk!

Father’s Chosen One, His Servant, will bring forth justice.

Give heed to what Father says…

Isa 42:5-7

Thus says God the LORD,
Who created the heavens and stretched them out,
Who spread out the earth and its offspring,
Who gives breath to the people on it
And spirit to those who walk in it,

“I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness,
I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You,
And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the nations,

To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon
And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.

God the Lord:

  • Created the heavens
  • Stretched out the heavens
  • Spread out the earth
  • Spread out the earth’s “offspring”- vegetation.
  • Gives breath to people on the earth
  • Gives spirit to those who walk on the earth

God the Father:
  • Called “You” - the Servant, the Chosen One, (Jesus) in righteousness
  • Will hold You by the hand
  • Will watch over You
  • Appoints You
    • As a covenant to the people
    • Light to the nations
    • To open blind eyes
    • Release prisoners form dungeons/prisons

The Lord bring justice through the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Bruised Reed. Dim Wick”

November 7, 2019

“Bruised Reed. Dim Wick”

Blessings folk!

We read Is 42:1-2 yesterday.
Now read a little more…

Isa 42:1-4

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the nations.

“He will not cry out or raise His voice,
Nor make His voice heard in the street.

“A bruised reed He will not break
And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish;
He will faithfully bring forth justice.

“He will not be disheartened or crushed
Until He has established justice in the earth;
And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.

The Lord will bring forth justice to the nations/Gentiles.

He will do so with compassion.
He will not break them…though they be as a bruised reed.
He will not extinguish them…though they be barely burning.

The Lord will be faithful in justice.

He will establish justice in the earth.

Three times “justice” is mentioned.

True justice is only found in the Lord.

“My Servant”

November 6, 2019

“My Servant”

Blessings folk!

Let us look at Isaiah 42.
Portions are familiar.
Most are not.

The Father is speaking of His Servant - His Son, Jesus.

Note what He says…

Isa 42:1-2

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;
My chosen one in whom My soul delights.
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the nations.

“He will not cry out or raise His voice,
Nor make His voice heard in the street.

Father “upholds” - “to hold fast” - His Servant.
His Servant is His Chosen One.
Father delights in Him.
Father put His Spirit upon Him…we see Father/Servant=Son/Spirit.

What will the Servant do?
Bring forth justice to the nations - to the Gentiles.

The Servant will not cry out.
He will not raise His voice.

Father prophesied this through Isaiah centuries before the Lord was born of flesh.

Know this.

The Lord is the source of true justice.

“Violent”

Remember
Remember

The gunpowder treason and plot
I know no reason
Why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot

“Religion” has been at war with itself since the beginning.

Such is not of the Lord.

Yes, there is a battle.
Two-fold.

Mat 11:12
From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence,
and the violent take it by force.

Eph 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers,
against the powers,
against the world forces of this darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The kingdom of heaven suffers violence.
The violent take the kingdom by force.
What does that mean?
Those that enter into the Kingdom deal “violently” with themselves…with their sins.
We do not take sin lightly.
We know that the flesh resists and puts up a struggle.

We also know that the struggle is not against flesh and blood.
It is against rulers, powers, world forces, spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Press on.
Violently deal with sin and the flesh.
Press in to the Kingdom

The Word: Episode 1097 Hebrews 11:30-31

“The Light of the World”

November 4, 2019

“The Light of the World”

Blessings folk!

Jesus is the Light!

Read what He said…

John 8:12-20

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying,
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.”

So the Pharisees said to him,
“You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.”

Jesus answered,
“Even if I do bear witness about myself,
my testimony is true,
for I know where I came from and where I am going,
but you do not know where I come from or where I am going.

You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.

Yet even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for it is not I alone who judge,
but I and the Father who sent me.

In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true.

I am the one who bears witness about myself,
and the Father who sent me bears witness about me.”

They said to him therefore,
“Where is your Father?”
Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father.
If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”

These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple;
but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.

Jesus declared He is the Light of the world.

The religious rulers were apoplectic.
They focused on the minutiae of the law - “bearing witness about yourself” - rather than the truth the Lord was speaking.

The Lord’s testimony is true.
He is the Light.

He testifies of such.
Father testifies of this truth.

Jesus cuts to the point.
The religious rulers did not know Him or Father.

Nothing has changed.

Do you believe?

“Fellowship In Light”

November 3, 2019

“Fellowship In Light”

Blessings folk!

God is Light.

We, as True Believers, are to walk in His Light.

1 Jo 1:7
But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

We have fellowship with one another in the Light!

Most “fellowship” in the soulish realm, not in the Light.

Most “churches” have little, if any, understanding of who they are in the Light.

Such would set us free.
Religious rulers suppress this freedom due to fear…they will be unable to “control”.

Now, read the balance of the chapter…

1 Jo 1:8-10

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins,
he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Confess sins.

The Lord is faithful.
He will forgive.
He will cleanse.

Be not a liar.

“Walk in the Fellowship of Light”

November 2, 2019

“Walk in the Fellowship of Light”

Blessings folk!!

We saw earlier that we are to walk as children of Light.

Now…

1Jo 1:7
But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we walk in the Light.
If we manifest the Light.
If we live as He is in the Light…

Then…

We will have fellowship with one another.
The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Note that the verse starts with “but”…read the previous verse…

1Jo 1:6
If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness,
we lie and do not practice the truth.

Be not counted among those who lie…
Be not counted among those who say the believe, yet hate their brother…
Be not the deceived hypocrite…the “organizational church” is full of them.

Be a vessel of the True Light of the Lord.
