"Live from I-95"

September 15, 2010

“Live from I-95”

Blessings Folk!

We do live in amazing times.

I am writing this as we are riding down I-95 in North Carolina.

Internet
Computer
satellite radio via device
telephones that double as computers
literally a rolling office
all in car...well not the car itself, but cool gadgetry Happy

Better yet, riding shotgun...my wife finally made me let her drive. Happy Happy

As I have mentioned many times before, one of the major “signs” as to the end of this age is found in Daniel…the verse that speaks of “running to and fro, knowledge increasing.” Also, verse 1 is profoundly significant...we’ll talk about that another time.

Daniel 12
1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

We are experiencing these days.

What are we doing with them?

Are we redeeming the time?

Are we rejoicing in the Lord?

Are we trusting in the Lord?

Or, are we trusting in the great gadgets that the Lord allows us to develop?

Oh, where are we headed?

Our latest grandbaby’s first birthday gathering?

God is good.

Rejoice with us...whether we be here or there. Happy Happy

Blessings!!

"Thy Word..."

September 13, 2010

“Thy Word...”

Blessings Folk!!

Why do so many professing believers stumble in their lives?
Why do we grope about like blind moles?

I suspect it is because of the truth of the following…

Psalm 119
105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

We do not know the Word.
We know snippets.
We know man’s interpretation.
We know what “our church” teaches.

Yet, we truly do not know the Word of God.

The Lord has provided His Word to illuminate our way, to be the Light unto our feet and path, yet, we refuse to know the Word and hide it in our hearts.

Psalm 119
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

We have been blessed beyond measure, especially when compared to past generations.

We have the Word.
We have many translations of our particular language.

Yet, I suspect we are like the folk referenced by a preacher of a past century… something along the line of “I have 100 men who will fight and die for the Bible for every one that reads it.”

We resume tomorrow, Tuesday, September 14, gathering to hear from the Lord through His Word.

Join us…
If local, gather with us… (send me an email, I’ll forward info)
If distant, online… http://www.dalemoore.tv

We seek to avoid a strictly academic environment.
We seek to avoid the “what do you feel, what do you think” approach.
We do desire to know what God is saying.

2 Timothy 2
14 Remind them of these things, and solemnly charge them in the presence of God not to wrangle about words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of the hearers.
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.
16 But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,
17 and their talk will spread like gangrene.

We don’t “wrangle over words.”
We seek to accurately handle the Word of Truth.

Take a moment and listen to the classic worship song...Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant…

Also, read all of Psalm 119...oh yeah, long...longest chapter in the Bible...spend this week reading through the Psalm. You will be amazed.

Another free download is available. “Let the Words of My Mouth”...straight out of Psalm 19:14. The best way for the words of our mouth to be acceptable is for the Word of the Lord to be flowing from us. We must know the Word.

Pass the Word!
Speak the Word!
Learn the Word!
Rejoice in the Word!

John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

"Rosh Hashanah"

September 8, 2010

“Rosh Hashanah”

Blessings Folk!

Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown today...last through sundown tomorrow.

What is this?
What does it have to do with us?

A full answer takes a long time...those of y’all who study the Word with us know what I mean. But, I thought it worthy to point out the day and make a couple of observations.

In Leviticus 23 the Lord instructed His people how they were to celebrate - the Feasts of the Lord. They are often are called “the Feast of Israel” - a misnomer.

The feast given are:

  • Passover
  • Unleavened Bread
  • First Fruits
  • Pentecost
  • Trumpets
  • Day of Atonement
  • Tabernacles

(All are mentioned in Scripture and Judaism with varied names, i.e. Feast of Booths or Tabernacles)

Here is the basic truth that I want us to understand today.

The first four feasts - Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost - were fulfilled in and through the Lord Jesus Christ when He came the first time.

The last three feasts - Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tabernacles - will be fulfilled in and through the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns.

The feast beginning at sundown today, the Feast of Trumpets, is described as follows…

Leviticus 23
23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.
25 Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Note…

  • the time, first day of the seventh month
  • that it was a sabbath day (this is so important to understand with all the feasts...some are “sabbath”, holy days...not the weekly sabbath)
  • a memorial of blowing of trumpets was to occur
  • a holy convocation was to occur
  • no work was to be done on that day
  • a offering of fire was to be made unto the Lord

The “Fall Feasts” occur close in time.

The Feast of Trumpets - later called Rosh Hashanah (the Head of the Year) - became the first day of the civil year (that explains much when looking at the Word…Israel had a “Feast”, “Sacred” calendar and a civil calendar...somewhat like we have calendar years and fiscal years)

The Feast of Trumpets was a call to the people to prepare for the Day of Atonement - the feast that occurred in ten days. These days eventually were referred to as the Days of Awe.

I believe that much can be gleaned and understood as to “end-time” things by examining the Feasts.

We would do well to be reminded to be prepared and ready.

Spend a few moments with the following charts.

Again, the first four feasts were fulfilled in and through the Lord Jesus when He came the first time…(click “pasted graphic&rdquoWinking

"Forget Not..."

September 7, 2010

“Forget not…”

Blessings Folk!

During recent times together we have been looking at the reality of life today.

Compared to what most of the world has experienced since The Beginning we are blessed beyond measure.

Yet, we are facing hard times today...harder times in the near future.

We do well to remember the following…

Philippians 4
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Matthew 6
25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
27 "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?
28 "And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin,
29 yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.
30 "But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!
31 "Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?'
32 "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

James 1
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

1 John 4:17-19
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
19 We love him, because he first loved us.

Revelation 22:12
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

1 John 5:4-6
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.
5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and with the blood It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

Blessings!

'Jesus' = Jesus?

September 6, 2010

‘Jesus’ = Jesus?

Blessings Folk!

During our corporate time of gathering as the Body of Christ yesterday the Lord spoke through His Word, His Spirit and His Body to confirm and affirm much that goes unsaid today.

We are rapidly headed into dark, dark days as a society and culture.

That being said, we know that…

Daniel 12:3
And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever

In the midst of ever increasing darkness, those that “know God” will shine brilliantly.

Hear this prophetic declaration and promise...they will turn many to righteousness!

There is a battle.
It is in the heavenly realm.

We see snippets of it manifesting in the natural, but the true battle is not against flesh and blood.

2 Corinthians 10
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

Yes, we are to “do something.”
But, we are not to move in the flesh, but rather, in the Spirit.

Daniel 11:32
"By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant, but the people who know their God will display strength and take action.

Therefore, I encourage you to do so.

Take action.
Display strength.
But, do so in the Spirit and the knowledge of the Word.

Be careful.
Be discerning.
Seek the enlightenment, illumination, wisdom and revelation of the Lord...

Ephesians 1
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Hear the word of warning for today...

Many times we have covered Jesus’ answer to two questions posed by the disciples in Matthew 24-25. This teaching of the Lord is foundational to understanding what is occurring today.

The disciples asked “when will these things happen?” and “what will be the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”

The first thing Jesus said in the answer was…

Matthew 24
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you.
5 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many.

The Lord instructs us to see to it that no one mislead you.

We have a responsibility to avoid being mislead.

Sadly, most of the professing church is being led into a spiritual deception unlike any man has experienced.

Jesus then tells us one of the ways that misleading will occur.
“...many will come in My name, saying ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.”

One understanding of this has been obvious through the ages.
Individuals would proclaim themselves to be “christ”, the “anointed one”...the one for whom we have been waiting… “we are the ones that we have been waiting for”...

I think another truth is also here.

Not all “jesuses” are Jesus.

Just because someone speaks of “Jesus” it does not mean that they are speaking of the the Lord Jesus.

I’ll give you a pertinent example of the day.

The Mormon Jesus is not the same Jesus as the Son of God in the Word.

Here is a most useful redaction of Mormon belief… take four minutes to watch the video and read along.

http://carm.org/mormonism-in-a-nutshell

Now, we are to fear not, but, we are to…

  • know the Truth...get in the Word
  • stand firm in the Lord...determine to be unwavering
  • “be the Body”...we need one another as the Body of the Lord that He is weaving together for such a time as this
  • shine as the stars in the firmament
  • we are to destroy speculations raised up against God...whether “mormonism” or “Hawkins-ism”
  • take captive every thought to the obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ

Again, fear not. Things will “get worse.” But those who know their God, and who are known by God, will shine brilliantly.

Do you “know of God?”

2 Corinthians 13:5
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you--unless indeed you fail the test?

Are you “known by God?”

Matthew 7
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
