"Swift to Run to Mischief"

May 27, 2010

“Swift to Run to Mischief”

Blessings Folk!

At the time of this writing the President of the united States of America is allowing a formal press conference, the first in 309 days.

I actively seek to avoid overt political dialogue in this communique...reserve that for other places, but what I’m watching is that which the Lord says He hates and finds an abomination.

Prov 6:16-19
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
KJV

I know of no prouder, haughty look than that of the President...well, maybe John Kerry.
Lie after lie is told.
Innocent blood is being shed in Afghanistan, Iraq and at the hand of the abortionist.
Wickedness is being devised…”you never want a serious crisis to go to waste” according to Rahm Emmanuel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yeA_kHHLow

Now, off-shore exploration and drilling will be suspended.

This is all planned.
There is an agenda.
Step by step we are being destroyed purposefully.

We have serious problems at the federal level.

Perhaps the thing that is most irritating personally is that which the Lord mentions next…

The Lord despises “feet that be swift in running to mischief.”

We know the type.

When something occurs, they run to it to take advantage.

Think Jesse Jackson.
Think Al Sharpton.
Both “Reverend”. Those to be “revered.”
They are receiving their rewards.

Think Chuck Schumer.

Each of us know folk that run to “stir up trouble,”

Rom 3:12-18
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
KJV

The Lord tells us that in the last days that there will be many such folk hiding in the Body of Christ. Tares among the wheat. Take an extra moment and read about them.

Jude 3-16
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
KJV

2 Peter 2 gives even more insight.

True believers are to be holy.

Zech 8:16-17
16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord .
KJV

As for as the political issue of the day? The oil leak.
The last resort of the political scoundrel is a “commission.”

Wait until...or, I should say, “if”...we learn what caused the broken pipe...

Lord, forgive us.
Lord, help us.

"Hearts That Deviseth Wicked Imaginations"

May 26, 2010

“Hearts That Deviseth Wicked Imaginations”

Blessings Folk!

Nothing changes when it comes to evil in the world.

Those things that are an abomination to the Lord change not.

People walk in pride, pride reflected in their countenance.
People lie.
People shed innocent blood.

KJV

“An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations”?

Other translations read...

Prov 6:16
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
NASU

Prov 6:16
18 a heart that plots wicked schemes,
(from Holman Christian Standard Bible® Copyright © 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005 by Holman Bible Publishers.)

Prov 6:18
18 a heart that plots evil,
Holy Bible, New Living Translation ®, copyright © 1996, 2004 by Tyndale Charitable Trust. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers. All rights reserved.

A heart that plots wicked things is an abomination unto the Lord.

Those of the world do such.
Here is the state of the world in Noah’s days just prior to the Flood...

Gen 6:5
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
KJV

Such is the same today, but not just in the world.

Many are the evil thoughts of those who profess to be believers.

I learned of a situation recently where a leader in a church seduced a woman with the line “the enemy had been after me...I know he will leave me alone if I have an affair with you.”

A heart devising an evil plan.
This is a mischievous person.

Prov 24:8
8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.
KJV

We experience this evil daily...by those in the world and those who profess to be of the Lord.

There day is coming…

Mic 2:1-3
2 Woe to those who scheme iniquity, Who work out evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, For it is in the power of their hands.
2 They covet fields and then seize them, And houses, and take them away. They rob a man and his house, A man and his inheritance.
3 Therefore thus says the Lord , "Behold, I am planning against this family a calamity From which you cannot remove your necks; And you will not walk haughtily, For it will be an evil time.
NASU

Political powers covet and consume.
Religious leaders covet and consume.

Calamity from the Lord awaits them.

Where do we stand?
What should we do?

Zech 8:16-17
16 'These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.
17 'Also let none of you devise evil in your heart against another, and do not love perjury; for all these are what I hate,' declares the Lord ."
NASU

Therefore, let us do these things…

  • speak the truth to one another
  • judge with truth
  • judge for peace in your gates
  • let none of us devise evil in our hearts against another
  • do not love perjury

God hates…
  • evil
  • perjury

We are not powerless.
We have the Spirit.
We have the Word.
Take captive the thoughts.

2 Cor 10:3-6
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.
NASU

Heb 4:11-12
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
KJV

Enter into the rest of the Lord.

"Shedding of Innocent Blood"

May 25, 2010

“Innocent Blood…”

Blessings Folk!

Here are some abominations that God hates…
  • haughty eyes
  • a lying tongue
  • hands that shed innocent blood
  • a heart that devises wicked plans
  • feet that rapidly run to evil
  • a false witness that utters lies
  • one who spreads strife among brothers

We looked at haughty eyes and a lying tongue yesterday.

Next, God hates the abomination of hands that shed innocent blood.

The Lord tells us much in His Word related to such…

Deut 27:25
25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.
KJV

2 Kings 24:3-4
3 Surely at the commandment of the Lord came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;
4 And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the Lord would not pardon.
KJV

Prov 1:11
11 If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:
KJV

Our land is filled with innocent blood.
Murder is upon the land.
Abortion has costs at least 45 million lives on our nation alone.
Yet, can you believe, there are many professing Christians who see nothing wrong with aborting a baby? They view it through the euphemistic lens of “choice.”

God will hold us accountable.

You think not?

The Lord is tired of those who profess to know and to have experienced His salvation and goodness, yet will easily declare the shedding of innocent blood a choice.

One can be ignorant, but upon the revelation of the Word, decisions must be made.
No longer can we adhere to personal preferences and thoughts.

What are we to do?

Listen to what the Lord says…

Isa 59:1-7
1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5 They hatch cockatrice' eggs, and weave the spider's web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
KJV

This is where many are today.

They call for the end of war...a worthy call…
They call for “social justice”...not knowing what is really meant by the phrase within the political realm...
Yet, they condone the shedding of the most innocent of blood.

Such should not be.

Again, the Lord is sick of those who profess faith in Him yet shed innocent blood.
He is tired of programs, worship services, studies, buildings and the like done in His name by those who will not protect the most innocent.

This is the reason that we feel that our prayers are hidden from the Lord...read, note the situation, then, note the solution…

Isa 1:11-16
11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the Lord : I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.
15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
KJV

Let us do so…

  • wash yourself in the blood of the Lord Jesus
  • make yourself clean by the blood and the Word
  • put away evil
  • learn to do well
  • seek judgment
  • relieve the oppressed
  • judge the fatherless
  • plead for the widow

Be willing and obedient, then you will eat of the good of the land.
Refuse and rebel? Be devoured by the sword.

Repent of the shedding of innocent blood.
The Lord will forgive.

Blessings!

"The Lord Hates..."

May 24, 2010

“The Lord Hates…”

Blessings Folk!

Do you know that there are some things the Lord hates?
Do you now what they are?
Do you know what is an abomination in the sight of the Lord?

There are many things in the Scripture that are described as abominations.

This passage is very telling.

I have seen these characteristics in people, especially leadership.

These are to be expected within those of the world.

Sadly, I’ve experienced more within the Body of Christ.

Proverbs 6:16-18
16 There are six things which the LORD hates,
Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
And hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A false witness who utters lies,
And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Let us check ourselves as to each element.
Examine yourself.

2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.

  1. Haughty eyes. The “church” is full of those with haughty, holier-than-thou eyes. Looking with distain upon those who do not look like “we think they should”, those who dress differently, who are sinners in need of the Savior. Haughtiness comes in many forms - those who demand/desire to be called Doctor/Pastor/Bishop/Rabbi…

Matthew 23
1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,
2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:
3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

Haughty eyes - Pride - destroys the unity of the Spirit.
Haughty eyes are reflective of an attitude of differentiation between the Body of Christ. This is a lie. We are all brethren.

  1. Lying tongue. The lying tongue is quenching the power of the Holy Spirit and destroying the Body.

Proverbs 12:19
Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment.

Proverbs 21:6
The acquisition of treasures by a lying tongues a fleeting vapor, the pursuit of death.

Proverbs 26:28
A lying tongue hates those it crushes,And a flattering mouth works ruin.

James 1:26
If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.

James 3
1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.
5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.
7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.
11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

That’s enough for today.

Determine in your heart through the empowerment of the Spirit to not have haughty eyes nor a lying tongue.

God alone can control the eyes and tongue!

"Lord, We Have Mingled..."

May 6, 2010

“Lord, We Have Mingled…”

Blessings Folk!

Today is “National Day of Prayer.”

Those who y’all who know me know that I do not give much heed to man created days of celebration.

Such it is with “National Day of Prayer.”

Of course, it is good to pray.
Of course, we are to pray without ceasing.
Of course, we are to pray for…
You understand.

I chuckle at the folk who want to have a “National Day of Reason” rather than prayer.

But…

We as servants of the Most High God must intercede for families, for communities, for the land upon which the Lord has placed us...regardless of where that is.

The Word of God gives us many examples of how to pray for such situations.

Here are three.

Nehemiah 9
Ezra 9
Daniel 9

I have included Ezra 9. Let us pray in this manner.

Give heed to what the problem was…
  • the people of the Lord had not separated themselves from the people of the lands (we are in the world, yet we are not to be of the world)
  • the people were doing the abominations of the people that the Lord had told them...years before upon entering the land...to utterly destroy
  • the people had intermarried with the people of the land, the holy seed mingled with the people of the land...unequally yoked
  • the hand of the princes and rulers of the people of the Lord had led in the sin!

Give heed to the response of Ezra
  • rent his garment and mantle
  • plucked off the hair of his head and beard
  • sat down astonished
  • assembled those that trembled at the Word of the Lord before him
  • at the evening sacrifice, he arose and prayed
  • He was ashamed

Note what the people had done
  • committed iniquities
  • committed trespasses
  • forsook the Lord’s commandments

Note what God had done
  • delivered them into captivity
  • released them from captivity
  • a remnant escaped
  • granted a little space
  • granted them a nail in this holy place
  • had not forsaken them
  • extended mercy
  • revived
  • set up the house of God
  • punished them less than their iniquities deserved
  • given great deliverance

This is a vivid picture of our land.

Read the passage…

Ezra 9
1 Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
2 For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.
3 And when I heard this thing, I rent my garment and my mantle, and plucked off the hair of my head and of my beard, and sat down astonied.
4 Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astonied until the evening sacrifice.
5 And at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the LORD my God,
6 And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens.
7 Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
8 And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the LORD our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage.
9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
11 Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanness.
12 Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.
 13 And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given us such deliverance as this;
14 Should we again break thy commandments, and join in affinity with the people of these abominations? wouldest not thou be angry with us till thou hadst consumed us, so that there should be no remnant nor escaping?
15 O LORD God of Israel, thou art righteous: for we remain yet escaped, as it is this day: behold, we are before thee in our trespasses: for we cannot stand before thee because of this.

Pray with me...

Lord...

We have left You.
We have rejected Your commandments.
We have rejected Your grace and mercy.
We depend upon ourselves and self-appointed leaders rather than upon You.

Lord, truly we are before Thee in our trespasses.
We can not stand before Thee because of this.

Lord, we confess.
Lord, we repent.
Lord, forgive.
Thank you, Lord.

"Answers"

May 3, 2010

“Answers!”

Blessings Folk!

Pray with me.

An opportunity for the Kingdom has arisen.

This week we will begin a new television program, “Answers”.

It will be available locally through WCQT-TV27 (check your local cable provider for station listing).

It will also be available online… http://www.answers.blip.tv
(Hoping to have each episode posted by Friday each week)

I ask that you will be praying.

Here is the short story.

As many of you know, we do a local television program called “Prayerline.” This program was developed due to a need that was readily apparent. Folk were literally calling the station asking for someone to pray with them. This is what we do. Folk call the live program. We pray with them. (Thanks Debbie Wood for listening to the Spirit and spearheading the start of the program!)

Currently we do “Prayerline” live on Monday evenings, 8 p.m. CDT and it is rebroadcast two other times during the week.
(Those of y’all distant can join live via internet at http://www.justin.tv/prayerline )

This is fine, but folk can not call the rebroadcast. Also, we were noting something else.

People have questions.
People are searching for answers.
People need to know where Life and Hope are.

Out of this arises the new program, “Answers.” It will take the place of the rebroadcast “Prayerline” segments.

“Prayerline” will continue live on Mondays.

Simply put, we will seek to speak the Word of the Lord to the situations of life.

Will it be a “Bible study”?
Not in the traditional sense, but the Word of God will be read, studied, taken into our hearts, spoken, proclaimed. We hope to avoid the trap of “studying” and knowing what the Bible says, and yet not having it applied to our hearts. There are so many professing believers who are consumed with fear, doubt, hopelessness...

What will be the format?
It will be fluid and varied. We will spend the initial programs exploring how God is a covenant making and covenant keeping God. That being said, our first program will diverge from that! Happy Happy The first program, this Thursday, May 6th, will be on the same day as the “National Day of Prayer.” Therefore, we will be seeking the Lord related to such.

Our desire is that we will be able to speak to the issues and news of the day.

For instance, we would have addressed earthquakes, tornadoes, economic problems, leadership, middle east, etc. in recent weeks.

Does the Lord have things to say about such?

Oh yes!!

The foundational truth is this - God is the Answer.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life.
The Holy Spirit empowers and leads those who are His.

Again, I ask that you continue to intercede before the Lord. What might He do?

“Answers” will be broadcast on Thursdays, 4 p.m. and Sundays, 9:30 a.m. (The times are always subject to change...I’m also hoping to get a couple of “in the middle of the night slots”...many folk work 2nd and 3rd shifts.)˘

One last thing.

We will begin a new Bible study locally this week…”God Searches for a Heart Fully His”… this is Course 2 of the “Kings and Prophets” Series. We will cover 1 Kings 15-2 Kings 1 and 2 Chronicles 14-20. These courses are very short. This one is five weeks long. Join us if you live nearby. You do not need to have taken any previous courses.
If you live distant, join our Facebook group. As of today we have 146 folk in the Word together in the Facebook group. http://tinyurl.com/2ee3p7v

Thanks for allowing me to communicate this stuff to you. I really believe it is important for us to join as one through the Most High God.

Never forget, we are the Body of the Lord and servants of His and one another.

Blessings!
