“Your Good Spirit”

October 31, 2020

“Your Good Spirit”

Blessings folk!

The people remembered what the Lord had done for them while they were in the wilderness.

Neh 9:20-21

“You gave Your good Spirit to instruct them,
Your manna You did not withhold from their mouth,
And You gave them water for their thirst.

“Indeed, forty years You provided for them in the wilderness and they were not in want;
Their clothes did not wear out, nor did their feet swell.

The Lord gave His Spirit, His Good Spirit, to instruct them.
Many often think of the Spirit as only being a “new-covenant” thing.
Wrong.

The Lord granted His Spirit when He desired…
For the purposes He desired…
How He desired.

He gave them manna…food.
He withheld none.

He gave them water.

He provided to the point that their clothes did not wear out.
Their feet did not swell.

Think on that.

Yet, they…and us…chose to walk in rebellion.

“Even When…"

October 30, 2020

“Even When…"

Blessings folk!

The people of the Lord and their leaders declared in prayer unto the Lord that He never forsook them, even in the midst of the most grievous sin…idolatry.

Neh 9:18-19

“Even when they made for themselves
A calf of molten metal
And said, ‘This is your God
Who brought you up from Egypt,’
And committed great blasphemies,

You, in Your great compassion,
Did not forsake them in the wilderness;
The pillar of cloud did not leave them by day,
To guide them on their way,
Nor the pillar of fire by night, to light for them the way in which they were to go.

They created a golden calf and declared it to be their Deliverer.
They committed other great blasphemies.

How foolish.

Yet, we do like things..

Think on it.
Take it to the Lord.
What are the things that we do personally which are idolatrous?
Here is a hint…anything that we give more attention, more adoration, more time, more love, than the Most High God…this is idolatry.
Often it is the blessings of God that tempt us to idolatry.

Keep your heart upon the Lord.
Upon His great compassion.
On the fact that He will not forsake us.
On His provision.
On His purpose in your life.

The Word: Episode 1457, Matthew 23:15

“You Are A God…”

October 29, 2020

“You Are A God…”

Blessings folk!

We have been looking at the prayers in Daniel 9 and Nehemiah 9 as guideline as to how to pray for our current lives.

Have you been praying?
Are you praying for the land upon which the Lord has placed you?
Are you praying for the leadership…of the land…of the Body of Christ?
Are you giving thanks to the Lord for all He had done in the past?
Are you giving thanks to the Lord for what He is doing now?

May we not be as the forefathers of Israel (as well as ours..) were!

They acted arrogantly.
They became stubborn.
They would not listen to the commandments of the Lord.

Then…

Neh 9:17
“They refused to listen,
And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You had performed among them;
So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt.
But You are a God of forgiveness,
Gracious and compassionate,
Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness;
And You did not forsake them.

They refused to listen.
They did not remember the wondrous deeds which the Lord had performed.
They became stubborn.
They appointed a leader in defiance of God…a leader that would lead back into slavery.

Even in all this…the great word “but”!

But You are a God of forgiveness.
You are a God of graciousness.
You are a God of compassion.
You are a God slow to anger.
You are a God abounding in lovingkindness.

God did not forsake them.

He will not forsake us.

Seek Him.
Pray!
Rejoice!

“You Provided…”

October 27, 2020

“You Provided…”

Blessings folk!

The people and leadership of the Lord continued to pray.

Neh 9:15
“You provided bread from heaven for them for their hunger,
You brought forth water from a rock for them for their thirst,
And You told them to enter in order to possess
The land which You swore to give them.

The people acknowledged that the Lord met their hunger with bread.
The Lord gave them water…from a rock!!!

The people then acknowledged that the Lord told them to enter the land.
They had to enter to possess.

Think on that.

All they had to do was enter.

The Lord had sworn to give the land to them.
The Lord had said He would be with them.

All they had to do was enter.

The first word of the next verse tells us much…”but”…

Enter into the Lord.
Posses that which He has for you!

Fear not!
Believe not the report of man.

The Word: Episode 1454 Matthew 23:1-12

“Then You…”

October 26, 2020

“Then You…”

Blessings folk!

The people and leadership continue to pray unto the Lord.

Are we?
Are we praying, especially for the land upon which the Lord has placed us?

Use the same pattern that we see here in Nehemiah to pray unto the Lord for the land.

Acknowledge all the good that the Lord has done for us…even as they did…

Neh 9:13-14

“Then You came down on Mount Sinai,
And spoke with them from heaven;
You gave them just ordinances and true laws,
Good statutes and commandments.

“So You made known to them Your holy sabbath,
And laid down for them commandments, statutes and law,
Through Your servant Moses.

Look at what the Lord did for them…

  • Came down on Mt. Sinai
  • Spoke to them from heaven
  • Gave them just ordinances
  • Gave them true law
  • Gave them good statues
  • Gave them good commandments
  • Gave/made known to them His Holy Sabbath
  • Laid down for them commandments, statutes and law through Moses

And yet…

They had not obeyed.
They had not been faithful.

Be aware…

October 25, 2020

“Pillar of Protection”

Blessings folk!!

The leadership of the people of the Lord were leading in prayer.

They are recounting what the Lord had done for them.

Now…

Neh 9:12
“And with a pillar of cloud You led them by day,
And with a pillar of fire by night
To light for them the way
In which they were to go.

The Lord led them.

By day, He led with a pillar of cloud.

By night, He led with a pillar of fire.

Protection from the heat/sun.
Protection from the cold/desert.

The Lord lit the path that they were to go.

He does the same for us…if we allow.

“You Divided and Hurled"

October 24, 2020

“You Divided and Hurled"

Blessings folk!

The people of the Lord are praying to Him, led by their leadership.

They are recounting what the Lord had done for them…

Neh 9:11
“You divided the sea before them,
So they passed through the midst of the sea on dry ground;
And their pursuers You hurled into the depths,
Like a stone into raging waters.

We know the story, but think for a moment.
Reflect upon it.

The Lord parted the sea before them.
He moved the water out of the way.

He then dried the ground.

The people passed through the midst of the sea…meaning, the water was on both sides of them as they walked across dry land.

They arrived safe on the other side.

Their pursuers chased them through the sea on the dry land.

The Lord brought the waters upon them.

Why then do we worry?
Why then do we fret?
If we are truly the Lord’s…
If we truly believe…
Then, we have nothing to fear.
The Lord is with us.
He will fight.
He will protect.
He is victorious!

“You Saw/Heard/Performed”

Blessings folk!

The Levitical leadership continues to lead in prayer.
They continue to recount the great things the Lord has done for His people.

Neh 9:9-10

“You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt,
And heard their cry by the Red Sea.

“Then You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh,
Against all his servants and all the people of his land;
For You knew that they acted arrogantly toward them,
And made a name for Yourself as it is this day.

The Lord saw how His people were afflicted.
The Lord heard the cry of His people.

His response?

He moved.
He performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh.
He performed signs and wonders against the servants of Pharaoh.
He performed signs and wonders against the people of the land of Pharaoh.

The Lord made a name for Himself in that which He did for His people.

The people remembered.

They knew what the Lord had done for them.

“Abram…As Promised”

October 22, 2020

“Abram…As Promised”

Blessings folk!

The Levites continue to lead the people in prayer before the Lord.

They had thought this through.
They had planned.
The last verse of chapter 9 tells us…

Neh 9:38
“Now because of all this
We are making an agreement in writing;…

This is at the end of the prayer.
I believe they wrote out the agreement with prayer and presented it before the Lord.
Now, note what they prayed next…

Neh 9:7-8
“You are the LORD God,
Who chose Abram
And brought him out from Ur of the Chaldees,
And gave him the name Abraham.

“You found his heart faithful before You,
And made a covenant with him
To give him the land of the Canaanite,
Of the Hittite and the Amorite,
Of the Perizzite, the Jebusite and the Girgashite—
To give it to his descendants.
And You have fulfilled Your promise,
For You are righteous.

They declared that God is their Lord.

They speak of their founding forefather - Abram.

God brought Abram out from Ur of the Chaldees.
God named him Abraham - father of nations.
God examined Abraham and found him faithful.
God made covenant with Abraham.
Part of the covenant was a promise of land.
The Lord gave victory.
The Lord gave land.
The Land was given to Abraham and his descendants.
The Lord had fulfilled His promise.
Why?
Because He is righteous!

“You Alone Are…”

October 21, 2020

“You Alone Are…”

Blessings folk!

The Levites were leading the people in prayer before the Lord…

They had declared that the glorious Name of the Lord was to be blessed and exalted above all blessing and praise.

They continue…

Neh 9:6
“You alone are the LORD.
You have made the heavens,
The heaven of heavens with all their host,
The earth and all that is on it,
The seas and all that is in them.
You give life to all of them
And the heavenly host bows down before You.

Give close attention to what they declared about the Lord.

He alone made the heavens…in all the Godhead.
He made the heaven of heavens with all their hosts.
That is interesting.
Wonder what is being referenced?
Likely the heavenly realm of angels and divine beings…as well as the sun, moon, stars, etc.

He made the earth.
He made all that is on it.

He made the seas.
He made all that is in them.

He gave/gives life to all.

The heavenly hosts (sun, moon, stars, divine beings, etc.) bow down before Him.

We would do well to pray this way.
To declare Who the Lord is.
To declare what He has done.
It quickly reminds us of His wonder and glory.

Why then should we fear?

“Your Glorious Name"

October 20, 2020

“Your Glorious Name"

Blessings folk!

The leaders of the people of the Lord now arose to pray to the Most High.

Note how they begin.
What do they say?

Neh 9:5

Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah, said, “Arise, bless the LORD your God forever and ever!
O may Your glorious name be blessed
And exalted above all blessing and praise!

The Levitical leadership called for the people (and, I suspect, the divine beings present) to…

  • Arise!
  • Bless the Lord your God forever and ever

Bless the Lord!
Notice…”your God”.
We are to bless Him forever.

Then they speak to the Lord directly.
May Your glorious name be blessed.
May the name of the Lord be exalted above all blessing and praise.

Think on that.

Do we exalt the name of the Lord above all blessing and praise?
Exactly what does that mean?

We thank and bless the Lord for the blessings He gives.
We are to do so.
Yet, the name of the Lord is to be blessed, exalted, praised and glorified above all else.
Above blessing.
Above praise that we give.

Do so today.
Bless His glorious name.

The Word: Episode 1447 Mark 11:27-12:12

“Sons of Israel Assembled”

October 19, 2020

“Sons of Israel Assembled”

Blessings folk!

Are you praying for where the Lord has placed you?
Community?
Region?
Country?
Workplace?

We continue to look at prayers related to praying for a nation…

Neh 9:1-4

Now on the twenty-fourth day of this month the sons of Israel assembled with fasting,
in sackcloth and with dirt upon them.

The descendants of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners,
and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.

While they stood in their place, they read from the book of the law of the LORD their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the LORD their God.

Now on the Levites’ platform stood Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani and Chenani, and they cried with a loud voice to the LORD their God.

Note what the sons of Israel did.
They assembled together.
They did so with fasting.
In sackcloth.
With dirt upon themselves…signs of repentance.
They separated themselves from all foreigners…a sign/picture of separation from the world.
They stood before the Lord.
They confessed their sins.
They confessed the iniquities of their fathers.

They stood in their place.
They read from the book of the Law for a fourth of the day…3 hours? Likely.
They confessed and worshiped the Lord for another 3 hours.

The Levitical leadership stood before the people and the Lord…on a platform…and cried with a loud voice to the Lord their God.

Wonder if we should not be doing the same…?

“Hear! Forgive! Listen! Take Action!”

October 18, 2020

“Hear! Forgive! Listen! Take Action!”

Blessings folk!

Daniel continues to pray.

One last “verse”.

Read closely…

Dan 9:19
“O Lord, hear!
O Lord, forgive!
O Lord, listen and take action!
For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay,
because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”

Note the passion of Daniel’s cry…”O Lord!”.

Note the intense request
“Hear!” “Forgive!” “Listen!”
“Take action!”
“Do not delay!”

Note the reason.
“For your own sake”
For the sake of the Lord’s name, because the city and people are called by the Name of the Lord.

Learn from Daniel.
Pray as Daniel.

Boldly.

Based upon Who we are in the Lord.

October 17, 2020

“Not On Our Merit…”

Blessings folk!

Hear Lord!
See Lord!

Thus Daniel cried…

Dan 9:18
“O my God, incline Your ear and hear!
Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name;
for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own,
but on account of Your great compassion.

Daniel wanted the Lord to see the desolations that had occurred.
Of course, Daniel knew that the Lord knew it all.
Daniel was crying to the Lord to move and restore.
He wanted the Lord to look upon the city that was “called by Your name”.

Daniel did not base his prayer and supplication on any merits of his or theirs.

The prayer was offered only on account of the great compassion of the Lord.

Not the good of man.
Not the deeds of man.
Not the abilities of man.

Strictly based on the compassion of the Lord.

“Hear! See!”

October 16, 2020

“Hear! See!”

Blessings folk!

Daniel is drawing to the end of his account of his prayer.

(He prayed an extended period…more than what he gave in the written account).

Read what he said…

Dan 9:18
“O my God, incline Your ear and hear!
Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name;
for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own,
but on account of Your great compassion.

First, Daniel cries out to God in a personal way “O my God!”
“O” - a cry of passion.
“My” - a personal plea.
“God” - a defining of Who is the Most High!

Daniel then requested some of the Lord.
He did so boldly.
Incline…it means to “stretch out, extend, bow”…Your ear.
Hear!

Daniel wanted the Lord to hear his prayer and cry.

He then stated “open Your eyes”.

Have you ever prayed to the Lord in the manner?
With this boldness?
With this passion?

Not for the sake of style itself, but from awareness of who we are and Who the Lord is.

Lord hear!
Lord see!

“So Now…Listen…”

Blessings folk!

Daniel continues to pray.

Dan 9:17
“So now, our God,
listen to the prayer of Your servant and to his supplications,
and for Your sake, O Lord, let Your face shine on Your desolate sanctuary.

Daniel was forthright.

He asked for “now”.
He acknowledge the God is their God.

He requested that God listen to his prayer…the prayer of His servant.
He asked God to listen to his supplications…intreaties for favor on behalf of his people.

Daniel again stated why…for the Lord’s sake.

Daniel wanted the Lord to “let Your face shine on Your desolate sanctuary”.

To bring forth His glory.

To release all His favor.

For His own sake.

What might the Lord do if we prayed in like manner for…

  • Ourselves
  • Our families
  • Our Body
  • Our community
  • Our leadership

For His sake.
For His glory.

October 14, 2020

“Turn Away…”

Blessings folk!

Daniel continues to pray…

Dan 9:16
“O Lord,
in accordance with all Your righteous acts,
let now Your anger and Your wrath turn away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain;
for because of our sins and the iniquities of our fathers,
Jerusalem and Your people have become a reproach to all those around us.

Daniel asks the Lord to turn His anger and wrath away from His city Jerusalem.

He asks based upon the righteous acts of the Lord.
He asks based upon the character of the Lord.

Daniel acknowledges that due to the sin and inquity of their fathers Jerusalem and the people of the Lord had become a reproach to all those around them.

All the nations knew what they had done.
All the nations knew of the judgment of the Lord.
All heaven and earth knew.

Daniel was now asking the Lord to turn away His anger/wrath.

“And Now O Lord…”

Blessings folk!

Daniel continues to pray…

Dan 9:15

“And now,
O Lord our God,
who have brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand
and have made a name for Yourself,
as it is this day—
we have sinned, we have been wicked.

Daniel remembers before the Lord that He had delivered them many years before.

Do you remember when the Lord delivered you?
When He saved you?
Have you experienced such, or are you just religious?

The Lord brought them out of bondage.
He did so with a Mighty Hand.
No one can doubt that it was not the Hand of the Lord.

He made a name for Himself throughout the world by what He had done.
The nations remembered and spoke of the works of the Lord…for generations…to this day.

Yet, as Daniel acknowledges, the people of the Lord had sinned.
They had been wicked.

They continued to sin.
They continued to be wicked.

This was Daniel’s concern.
This is what brought Him before the Lord in prayer.

To that day…
To this day…
They sinned.
They acted wickedly.
They had not turned to the Lord.

“Stored Up Calamity”

Blessings folk!

Daniel continues to pray.

Dan 9:14
“Therefore the LORD has kept the calamity in store and brought it on us;
for the LORD our God is righteous with respect to all His deeds which He has done,
but we have not obeyed His voice.

Note the first word - “therefore”.
In light of all that Daniel had just prayed.
In light of the truth of the Word of the Lord.
The Lord had done something.
He had kept “calamity in store”.

“In store”?

Yep.

Why “in store”?
Giving opportunity for repentance?
I suspect so.
But, as opportunity was given for repentance, sin continue to accumulate.

The calamity was forewarned through the prophets.
The Lord spoke.
The Lord warned His people.

The did not listen.
They did not obey His voice.
The Lord brought the “stored up” calamity.

The Lord was…and is…righteous in all He does.
Even in bringing calamity.

He is righteous in respect to all His deeds.

yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our iniquity and giving attention to Your truth.

Calamity had come upon the people of the Lord by the hand of the Lord.

The Lord had told them.

“Calamity”

October 10, 2020

“Calamity”

Blessings folk!

Know this!

The Lord will honor His Word.

He will do what He says He will do.

Daniel knew this.

He acknowledged it in his prayer…

Dan 9:12
“Thus He has confirmed His words which He had spoken against us and against our rulers who ruled us, to bring on us great calamity; for under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what was done to Jerusalem.

The people had been disobedient.
The people had rebelled.

The Lord confirmed His Word.
Against the people.
Against the rulers.

The Lord brought great calamity upon them.
Calamity unlike anything before.
Calamity against Jerusalem.

Many teach/preach that the Lord is not the source of calamity.
They teach/preach that the Lord will not do such.

They do not know the Word of the Lord…

Isa 45:7
The One forming light and creating darkness,
Causing well-being and creating calamity;
I am the LORD who does all these.

Jer 16:10
“Now when you tell this people all these words, they will say to you,
‘For what reason has the LORD declared all this great calamity against us?
And what is our iniquity,
or what is our sin which we have committed against the LORD our God?'

(Jeremiah mentions “calamity” often.)

Jer 29:11
‘For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD,
‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Choose the future and hope of the Lord!

Pro 28:14
How blessed is the man who fears always,
But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.

The Word: Episode 1437 Matthew 19:28-20:2

“All Israel Has Transgressed…”

October 9, 2020

“All Israel Has Transgressed…”

Blessings folk!

Daniel continues to pray…

Dan 9:11
“Indeed all Israel has transgressed Your law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice;
so the curse has been poured out on us,
along with the oath which is written in the law of Moses the servant of God,
for we have sinned against Him.

All Israel had transgressed the Law of the Lord.

All Israel had turned aside from the Law of the Lord.

All Israel had not obeyed His voice.

What occurred?

The Lord had told them.

If they did not obey, they would bring forth curse upon themselves.

Malachi brought the final prophetic synopsis…

Mal 2:2
“If you do not listen, and if you do not take it to heart to give honor to My name,”
says the LORD of hosts, “then I will send the curse upon you and I will curse your blessings; and indeed, I have cursed them already, because you are not taking it to heart.

The Lord had promised to bring curse upon them if they disobeyed.

They did.

He did.

Daniel acknowledged that they all had sinned.

So have we.

The Word: Episode 1436 Matthew 19:16-30

“We Have…”

October 8, 2020

“We Have…”

Blessings folk!

We continue through Daniel’s prayer in Daniel 9…

Dan 9:9-10
“To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness,
for we have rebelled against Him;

nor have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God,
to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.

Daniel constantly speaks of the attributes of God.
God is compassionate.
God is forgiving.

He states these truths in juxtaposition to how he/they had reacted to God.

They had rebelled against God.
They had not obeyed the voice of the Lord.
They had not walked in the teachings of the Lord.
They had not walked in the Word that the Lord had spoken through the prophets.

Daniel acknowledges this.

Too often we do the same.

We walk in a way contrary to the Lord.

What to do?

Repent.
Return.
Rejoice.
Press on.
Pray based upon the “attributes” of God.
Know Who He is!

The Word: Episode 1435 Matthew 19:13-24

“Righteousness Belongs to the Lord…”

October 7, 2020

“Righteousness Belongs to the Lord…”

Blessings folk!

Are you praying for the local community, state, nation where the Lord has placed you?

Are you using Daniel 9 as a model?

We should be.

We continue…

Dan 9:7-8

“Righteousness belongs to You, O Lord,
but to us open shame, as it is this day—
to the men of Judah,
the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel,
those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You.

“Open shame belongs to us,
O LORD, to our kings, our princes and our fathers,
because we have sinned against You.

Daniel declares that righteousness belongs to God.
He is Righteous.

We ourselves are not.

What did Daniel say about his people?

Open shame belonged to them.
To those nearby…Judah, Jerusalem, Israel.
To those scattered afar.

Why open shame?
Because of the unfaithful deeds that they had committed against the Lord.

Open shame was upon their leaders…kings, princes and forefathers.

We can say the same.

Acknowledge such.
Repent.
And watch what the Lord does!!

Hallelujah!

The Word: Episode 1434 Matthew 19:1-12

“We Have…”

October 6, 2020

“We Have…”

Blessings folk!

Daniel was in prayer and supplication for his people, his city and his land.

We should do likewise.

We would do well to follow the pattern we see in Daniel’s prayer in Daniel 9.
Use it to pray for local, state, national events, concerns, elections.
Pray the Word of the Lord.

We continue with what Daniel prayed…

Dan 9:5
we have sinned,
committed iniquity,
acted wickedly and rebelled,
even turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances.

This is what the people had done.
It had led them into exile.

They had not changed.
Daniel knew this.

We are the same.

We have sinned.
We have committed iniquity.
We have acted wickedly.
We have rebelled.
We have turned aside from the Lord’s commandments.
We have turned aside from the Lord’s ordinances.

Lord forgive us.
Individually.
As community.
As region.
As a nation.

Forgive and heal!

Zechariah - Lesson 3

Zechariah - Lesson 3

The Word: Episode 1433 Matthew 19:1-6

“I Prayed…”

October 5, 2020

“I Prayed…”

Blessings folk!

As those of us in the states move into the final weeks of an election cycle we would do well to pray even more for political leadership…
Local.
State.
National.

Pray as Daniel did for his people, his city, his land…

Dan 9:3-4

So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications,
with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.

I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed and said,

Note what Daniel did.

He gave attention to the Lord God.
He sought the Lord God.
He sought Him by prayer and supplications (supplication is seeking the Lord’s favor on behalf of another person).
He sought the Lord with fasting, sackcloth and ashes…visible humiliation and deprivation of self.

Daniel confessed to the Lord…the Lord His God.

We must do likewise.
Give attention to the Lord.
Seek Him.
Seek Him by prayer and supplications with fasting, sackcloth and ashes.

Pray to the Lord.

Confess to the Lord.

“He Will Perfect the Good Work…”

October 4, 2020

“He Will Perfect the Good Work…”

Blessings folk!

Paul was thankful for the Believers in Philippi.

He prayed for them.

He spoke grace and peace over them.

Paul was thrilled due to their participation in the gospel.

Paul also knew this…

Phl 1:6
For I am confident of this very thing,
that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.

The Lord is the One Who has begun His good work in every true Believer.

The Lord will “perfect” it…complete/accomplish/fulfill…bring to fruition…keep it until the day of Christ Jesus.

He does so with us.

Let Him work.
Let Him perfect.
Do not quench what He desires in you.

“Grace and Peace”

October 3, 2020

“Grace and Peace”

Blessings folk!

Phl 1:1-5

Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus,
To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi,
including the overseers and deacons:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,

always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all,

in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now.

Paul was writing to the “saints=holy ones” in Philippi.
Timothy was with him.

He spoke grace over them.
He spoke peace over them.

Then, Paul told them that he thanked God for them every time he thought of them.

Why?

Because they believed.
They participated in the gospel…from the first day they heard until then.

Paul prayed for them.
He did so with joy.

May we do likewise for OneAnother!

The Word: Episode 1430 Matthew 18:10-14, Luke 15:1-7

“Fight!”

October 2, 2020

“Fight!”

Blessings folk!

Allow me to review a verse we recently covered.

This is important.

This is where the battle is…

Eph 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers,
against the powers,
against the world forces of this darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The battle is in the heavenly realm.
Not with each other.

Remember this…

Rom 8:37
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

We conquer through the Lord Jesus Christ…Who loved us!

Then…

Rom 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death,
nor life,
nor angels,
nor principalities,
nor things present,
nor things to come,
nor powers,

nor height,
nor depth,
nor any other created thing,
will be able to separate us from the love of God,
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus Who is our Lord.

Note that these things are real…all of them…
Death
Life
Angels
Principalities
Present things
Future things
Powers
Height
Depth
Created things

Nothing will separate us.

Fear not!
Fight!
The victory is ours!

The Word: Episode 1429 Luke 9:49-50, Mark 9:49-50

“Peace. Love. Faith. Grace.”

October 1, 2020

“Peace. Love. Faith. Grace.”

Blessings folk!

We have reached the end of Paul’s letter to the Body of Christ at Ephesus…after having looked at the last half of the letter…didn’t really intend to..LOL… Happy

Read closely.

Note what the Spirit leads Paul to say…

Eph 6:23-24

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Paul spoke peace to the brethren.
Do we?
What would happen if we spoke peace…literally…to one another?

Then, love.
Love with faith.

Love from God the Father.
Love from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith from God the Father.
Faith from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lastly, he speaks grace upon them.
Grace to those who love our Lord Jesus.
Those who love with incorruptible love.

May we do likewise.
Peace.
Love.
Faith.
Grace.

All from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
