“Three In One Bear Record…”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!
Believe!
Overcome!

Read the following about believing and overcoming.

It is important to read this passage from the Authorized Version…

1 Jo 5:5-11

Who is he that overcometh the world,
but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

This is he that came by water and blood,
even Jesus Christ;
not by water only,
but by water and blood.
And it is the Spirit that beareth witness,
because the Spirit is truth.

For there are three that bear record in heaven,
the Father,
the Word,
and the Holy Ghost:
and these three are one.

And there are three that bear witness in earth,
the Spirit,
and the water,
and the blood:
and these three agree in one.

If we receive the witness of men,
the witness of God is greater:
for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself:
he that believeth not God hath made him a liar;
because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

And this is the record,
that God hath given to us eternal life,
and this life is in his Son.

Overcomers believe that Jesus is the Son of God,
They believe unto salvation,

Jesus came by water and blood…in flesh.
The Spirit testifies to this.

There are three that bear record in heaven…
The Father
The Word
The Holy Ghost

There are three that bear witness in earth
The Spirit
The Water
The Blood

Three in One.

If you are true Believer you have this witness within yourself.
If you are a false believer you do not.

God has given eternal life, if you will believe,
If you have false belief, then you do not have eternal life.

Simple.

“Believe: Overcome the World”

April 29, 2020

“Believe: Overcome the World”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

Fear is of the flesh, not of God.

Fear binds.
Fear deceives.
Fear is a strategy of the evil one to blind/confuse/destroy us.

Believers are only to fear the Most High God…
To stand in awe of Him…
To rejoice in Him…

Know this…

One can not truly Believe…be a true person of faith…and live in fear.

If fear is your pattern and practice of behavior, then heed this Word of the Lord…

2 Co 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.
Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

Faith puts fear to flight.
Faith overwhelms fear.
Faith overcomes fear.

1 Jo 5:4
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world;
and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

Faith overcomes the world.
Those who are born of God overcome the world through faith.

How?

1 Jo 5:5
Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Believe!
Without doubt!
Without the baggage of man.

Have faith!
Believe what the Lord says…and watch the fear dissipate…

“Do You Believe?”

April 28, 2020

“Do You Believe?”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!
Do not be dismayed!
Have faith!
Believe!

This came to mind this morning during an early morning prayer gathering…

 Mat 9:27-31

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out,
“Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

When He entered the house, the blind men came up to Him, and Jesus said to them,
“Do you believe that I am able to do this?”
They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”

Then He touched their eyes, saying, “It shall be done to you according to your faith.”

And their eyes were opened.
And Jesus sternly warned them: “See that no one knows about this!”

But they went out and spread the news about Him throughout all that land.

Two blind men.
Crying for mercy from Jesus - the Son of David.

They pursued Jesus.
They came to Him inside a house…wonder how that worked? Did someone lead them? Did they follow His voice, pushing through the crowd that was always around Jesus?

Jesus asked them a pointed question.
“Do you believe that I am able to do this?”

That is the question for us.
Do we believe?
Do we really believe that He is able?

They said “Yes!”.
What do we say?

Jesus’ response was interesting.
He touched their eyes and said “it shall be done to you according to your faith”.

According to “their faith”?
Yep.

They had true faith.
They believed.
Their eyes were opened.

Jesus then warned them “see that no one knows about this!”

LOL.

Really?

Two blind men that now see.
“See” to it…?

Jesus knew that His “time” had not yet come, so he often told folk to not say anything about what the Lord had done for them.

Of course, they said things.
These two spread the news throughout the land.

We have been sent by the Lord to proclaim what He has done for us.

May we do so…

“Fear Not…Lightnings, Clouds”

April 27, 2020

“Fear Not…Lightnings, Clouds”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!
Trust in the Lord!

Today is a special day of remembering in our geographical region.
Nine years ago we had a day of storms.
Serious storms.
“Once-in-a-lifetime” storms.

(Hummmm….many of us have experienced at least two of these“Once-in-a-lifetime” storm days)

Here is a short video synopsis -
April 27, 2011

What does the Word say about such?

Actually a good bit.

Jesus calmed the storm…

Mat 8:26
He said to them,
“Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?”
Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

The satan used wind…

Job 1:18-19

While he was still speaking, another also came and said,
“Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,

and behold, a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people and they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

Remember, the Lord is Lord of all…

Job 38:35
“Can you send forth lightnings that they may go
And say to you, ‘Here we are’?

Job 38:37
“Who can count the clouds by wisdom,
Or tip the water jars of the heavens,

The Word: Episode 1271 Lamentations 3:55-66

“Faith. Love.”

April 26, 2020

“Faith. Love.”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!
Have faith!

Hear the Word of the Lord…

Eph 1:15-17

For this reason I too,
having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus
which exists among you and your love for all the saints,

do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers;

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

Our faith is “in the Lord Jesus”.
Each true Believer is defined by this faith.
False believers have faith in other things…

  • their thoughts
  • their abilities
  • their religion
  • their understandings and the like

True faith in the Lord will manifest itself in love for all the saints.

True love in faith will give thanks for one another.
True love in faith will pray for one another.

We will pray that God the Father will give each other…
  • a spirit of wisdom
  • a spirit of revelation
…in the knowledge of Him.

Fear will blind us.
Faith will empower us.

Yes, there are many who claim to be “of faith”…they say the correct words, they have religious (even good) deeds, they act the role of a believer…and yet, they are false-believers.

They are not of faith.
They are of fear.

Fear and anxiety consume their lives, from the smallest of considerations to the largest.

Such is not of faith.

Faith presses on and through the times/attack of fear.

Live in faith…
In Love…
In Thanks…
In Prayer…
In Wisdom…
In Revelation…
In Knowledge…
Of/to Him.

Pray for those who are deceived and of the world.

It is not too late.

Today is the day of salvation.

“Fear? Faith?”

April 25, 2020

“Fear? Faith?”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!
The command of the Lord.

If we are not to fear, what are we to do?

What is the opposite of fear?

If you do a “search” on the “opposite of fear”, you will find some interesting things.
Many terms…depending upon noun/verb form.
Many useful.

But, when I think of the opposite of “fear”, I think of “faith”.

We as Believers are called to walk in faith, not fear.
We live by faith, not fear.
We are, by definition, the manifestation of faith in this time…not fear.

Such faith is not by any volition of ourselves.

It is by the grace of the Most High God…

Eph 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

We are saved through faith.
By grace from the Lord God.
His gift.

No works of ours.
Therefore, no boasting in what we have done.

So, fear not.
Boast not in your fear.

Live by faith!
Faith from the Lord.
Faith in the Lord.

“Do Not Be Afraid of Sudden Fear”

April 24, 2020

“Do Not Be Afraid of Sudden Fear”

Blessings folk!

The Lord tells us to “not fear”.

Lam 3:57
You drew near when I called on You;
You said, “Do not fear!”

Hear these two Proverbs…

Pro 3:7
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

 Pro 3:25
Do not be afraid of sudden fear
Nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes;

Fear the Lord.
Seek His wisdom…much said in the Proverbs about this.
Do not be self-wise.
Seek His way.
Turn from evil.

Do not be afraid of sudden fear!
Do not be afraid of the wicked.
Wickedness will come..and increase.

Yet, fear not.

Know Whose you are are as a Believer.

“My People, Work, Inheritance”

April 23, 2020

“My People, Work, Inheritance”

Blessings folk!

Fear not saints!
Be not dismayed, Believers!

Religionists…
Those of the world…
Unbelievers…
You will/should fear.
You have no hope.

Yet, the Lord beckons to come to Him.
Today is the day of salvation…

Reread the passage from yesterday.

Note how the Egyptians will believe.
The Assyrians (big portion of modern day middle east) will believe.
They will worship together with Israel.

Does such seem unlikely in our minds?
It should not.

With God, nothing is impossible.
With God, all things are possible.

Isa 19:19-25

In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt,
and a pillar to the LORD near its border.

It will become a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt;
for they will cry to the LORD because of oppressors,
and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them.

Thus the LORD will make Himself known to Egypt,
and the Egyptians will know the LORD in that day.
They will even worship with sacrifice and offering,
and will make a vow to the LORD and perform it.

The LORD will strike Egypt, striking but healing;
so they will return to the LORD, and He will respond to them and will heal them.

In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria,
and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria,
and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.

In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria,
a blessing in the midst of the earth,

whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying,
“Blessed is Egypt My people,
and Assyria the work of My hands,
and Israel My inheritance.”

“In That Day - A Highway”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!

Look at more of Isaiah 35…days yet to come for Israel and Believers.

Isa 35:8-9

A highway will be there, a roadway,
And it will be called the Highway of Holiness.
The unclean will not travel on it,
But it will be for him who walks that way,
And fools will not wander on it.

No lion will be there,
Nor will any vicious beast go up on it;
These will not be found there.
But the redeemed will walk there,

The “Highway of Holiness” is interesting.
- unclean will not travel on it
- fools will not wander on it
- for those that “walks that way”
- no lion will be there
- no vicious beast
- the redeemed will walk there

Isaiah mentions a highway in Isaiah 19.

Read this.
Will discuss more later.
What do you see?
What does this have to say about today?

Isa 19:19-25

In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt,
and a pillar to the LORD near its border.

It will become a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt;

What?

Egypt will believe?
Yes!

Assyria will believe?
Yes!

There will be a highway between Egypt to Assyria…would require passing through Israel!?
Yes!

They will worship together?
Yes!

Did you see that the Lord will bless?

“Then…”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!
Be not anxious!
Take courage!

There will be a day…yet to come…when things will be so different…

Hear the Word of the Lord…

Isa 35:4-7

Say to those with anxious heart,
“Take courage, fear not.
Behold, your God will come with vengeance;
The recompense of God will come,
But He will save you.”

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened
And the ears of the deaf will be unstopped.

Then the lame will leap like a deer,
And the tongue of the mute will shout for joy.
For waters will break forth in the wilderness
And streams in the Arabah.

The scorched land will become a pool
And the thirsty ground springs of water;
In the haunt of jackals, its resting place,
Grass becomes reeds and rushes.

The Lord will come with vengeance and recompense.
He will save us!

Notice what will pass away…

  • Blindness
  • Deafness
  • Lameness
  • Muteness
  • Dryness/desert

Note what will be…
  • Abundant water
  • Healing

“Blossom. Take Courage.”

April 20, 2020

“Blossom. Take Courage.”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!
Be not dismayed!

Hear the Word of the Lord for the future of Zion!

Two things for today:
  1. Watch what happens to the wilderness/desert. Why?
  2. Note what we are called to do.

Isa 35:1-4

The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom;
Like the crocus

It will blossom profusely
And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
They will see the glory of the LORD,
The majesty of our God.

Encourage the exhausted,
and strengthen the feeble.

Say to those with anxious heart,
“Take courage, fear not.
Behold, your God will come with vengeance;
The recompense of God will come,
But He will save you.”

The wilderness/desert will be glad/rejoice/blossom.

It will blossom profusely.
It will rejoice.
It will shout for joy.
It will have glory and majesty.

Why?

Because it will see the glory of the Lord/the majesty of God.

What are we to do?

Encourage - the exhausted.
Strengthen - the feeble.
Declare courage and fearlessness - to those who are anxious.
Remind that the recompense of God will come.
Remind that God will save!

Fear not!

“Victory!”

“Victory!”

Blessings folk!

April 19.
Patriots’ Day in some portions of the united States.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriots'_Day

It celebrates.
It remembers, especially of more recent events

Remember, we as Believers are “patriots” of the Kingdom.

There is a battle.

Give heed to Paul’s insight as to the battle…

Eph 6:11-12

Put on the full armor of God,
so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers,
against the powers,
against the world forces of this darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Michael Heiser makes this point…

It’s why Paul’s vocabulary for the evil spiritual powers of darkness is peppered with geographical rulership terms:
rulers (1 Cor. 2:6; Eph. 3:10; 6:12; Col. 1:16),
authorities (Eph. 3:10; 6:12; Col. 1:16),
thrones (Col. 1:16),
dominions (Col. 1:16).
Heiser, Michael S.. Brief Insights on Mastering Bible Doctrine (60-Second Scholar Series) (p. 44). Zondervan Academic. Kindle Edition.

We are seeing more and more of the working of “evil spiritual power of darkness” within the flesh and blood of human.

Fear not!

The Lord is victorious.
We are victorious in/through Him.

“‘Normal’"

April 18, 2020

“‘Normal’"

Blessings folk!

“A return to ‘normal’…”

This is that for which many hope!

I hope not!

For the Body of Christ…no “return to normal”.

“Normal” was powerless.
“Normal” was man-centered.
“Normal” was religious activities of varied forms that reflect not the Kingdom of God.
“Normal” was/is not the true Kingdom of God.

The nations are crying out.
“Normal” will not satisfy the cry.

Nothing has changed.
Hear the Word of the Lord…

Psa 2:1-4

Why are the nations in an uproar
And the peoples devising a vain thing?

The kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,

“Let us tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”

He who sits in the heavens laughs,
The Lord scoffs at them.

The world tries its way.
It devises plans to deal with situations.
The rulers/kings of the world take counsel against the Lord.
They seek to separate themselves from God.

He laughs and scoffs at them.

This is “normal”.

The Lord tells them…

Psa 2:10-12

Now therefore, O kings, show discernment;
Take warning, O judges of the earth.

Worship the LORD with reverence
And rejoice with trembling.

Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way,
For His wrath may soon be kindled.
How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!

The Lord is warning to step beyond “normal”.

Show discernment.
Worship the Lord in reverence.
Rejoice with trembling.
Do homage to the Son.

A Word of warning to the world.

A Word of exhortation to Believers.

The evil of the world will continue.
The wrath of the Lord will come.

Take refuge in Him…and He alone.
You will be blessed…

“Distress. Debt. Discontented.”

April 17, 2020

“Distress. Debt. Discontented.”

Blessings folk!

David had been anointed King.
Yet, he was not King yet…it was many years from his anointing to his accession.

David was now running from his father-in-law, Saul.
Saul wanted him dead.

David fled and hid among the Philistines, an enemy.
But, he was discovered.
He then feigned insanity to escape.

1 Sa 21:14-15

Then Achish said to his servants,
“Behold, you see the man behaving as a madman. Why do you bring him to me?

“Do I lack madmen, that you have brought this one to act the madman in my presence?
Shall this one come into my house?”

“Do I lack madmen…?”
That is great.

David leaves and hides.
In a cave.
Sequestered for lack of a better term.

What was going on?

Read the next verses…

1 Sa 22:1

So David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam;
and when his brothers and all his father’s household heard of it, they went down there to him.

Everyone who was in distress,
and everyone who was in debt,
and everyone who was discontented gathered to him;
and he became captain over them.
Now there were about four hundred men with him.

David escaped.
He hid.
His family heard where he was.
They went to him…interesting…

Then…
Everyone in distress.
Everyone who was in debt.
Everyone who was discontented.
They gathered to David.
He led them…about 400 men.

We see this today.

Folk are in distress…in debt…discontented.
Physically.
Spiritually.

David is a typological picture of Messiah yet to come - Jesus.

The people ran to him.

We must run to Him.

Many are/will.

I spoke with a gentleman yesterday. He has had some transformation/insight during this time of isolation…been watching/listening to some true biblical preaching/teaching. He is now wondering how he can “go back” to the powerless/goody goody readings from “his church”. He is thinking that he needs to find a “new church”, but he loves the people/friends in his current situation.

Many are in this “cave”.

What to do?

Trust the Lord.
Rest in the Lord.
Be the church.
Learn the truth.
Speak the truth.
Be the vessel of the Power and Presence of the Most High that He is calling and empowering you to be.
Do not wait for organizational directives.
Be the Kingdom.

“Rejoice! Be Glad!”

April 16, 2020

“Rejoice! Be Glad!”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

Hear the Word of the Lord to His people.
The principle applies to His New Covenant people…

Joe 2:21-23

Do not fear, O land, rejoice and be glad,
For the LORD has done great things.

Do not fear, beasts of the field,
For the pastures of the wilderness have turned green,
For the tree has borne its fruit,
The fig tree and the vine have yielded in full.

So rejoice, O sons of Zion,
And be glad in the LORD your God;
For He has given you the early rain for your vindication.
And He has poured down for you the rain,
The early and latter rain as before.

The land is told to not fear.
The beasts of the field are told to not fear.

What are they told to do?
Rejoice!
Be glad!

Why?
Because the Lord has done great things!

Rejoice!
For the pastures of the wilderness are green.
For the tree has borne fruit
For the fig tree and vine have yielded full.

There is more.

The Sons of Zion are told to rejoice.

So should we.

Be glad in the Lord.
He has given “early rain” for vindication.
He pours forth the rain.

We have had that in the natural.
We have had that in the spiritual.

There is more to come.

As evil increases…
As fear increases in the world…
The rain/reign of the Spirit will pour forth through His Body.

Make it so Lord…

“Shine, Strength, Action”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

Are you preparing?

Not in the flesh, but in the Lord.

Are you growing in His Might and Power?

Are you growing in the Spirit?

Are you growing in Him?

Why?

Because the Lord is about to use His Body in ways we could have never imagine…
In/through things we could have never imagined…

The Word tells us about such times.

Dan 12:3
“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven,
and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

The Lord shines through us.
He gives insight.
He will lead many to righteousness.
He brings enlightenment, illumination, revelation, etc.

The immediate context of this particular verse is the “Last Days/Endtimes” situation of Israel, but the principle applies.

Earlier the Lord had revealed to Daniel…

Dan 11:32
“By smooth words he will turn to godlessness those who act wickedly toward the covenant,
but the people who know their God will display strength and take action.

Many will be the wicked.
Many will be their smooth words.

But know this.

The People of the Lord will display strength.
The People of the Lord will take actions,.
The People of the Lord will manifest the Power and Presence of the Lord.

Sadly, many will be the supposed “people of the Lord” who will be revealed as false-believers, false-professors.

Their “religiosity” will be set aside and collapse in the face of evil.

They will be revealed to be the frauds they are.

But now, there is still time to “get right”.
There is time to prepare in the Lord.
There is time to repent, confess, turn to Him and allow Him to make straight the path.

Where do you stand?

The Word: Episode 1259 Malachi 3:1-6

“Revealing Is Coming…”

April 14, 2020

“Revealing Is Coming…”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

Listen to the Lord…

Luk 12:1-7

Under these circumstances,
after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all,
“Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

“But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.

“Accordingly,
whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light,
and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.

“I say to you, My friends,
do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.

“But I will warn you whom to fear:
fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell;
yes, I tell you, fear Him!

“Are not five sparrows sold for two cents?
Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

“Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.

“Under these circumstances…”?

What were the circumstances?

The previous verses tell us.

The religious rulers had determined to entrap Jesus…

Luke 11:53-54

When He left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to question Him closely on many subjects,

plotting against Him to catch Him in something He might say.

What did Jesus say?

  1. Beware the hypocrisy of the Pharisees/religionist. The warning applies to us today.

  1. A revealing is coming. That which is done in darkness will come to light. A word for us today. In every situation we face, a revealing is coming. The hidden will be known.

  1. Do not be afraid of the those who can kill our bodies.

  1. Fear the One who can cast us into hell.

  1. Do not fear. God has not forgotten us. We are valuable!

Romans Part 3 - Lesson 2

Romans Part 3 - Lesson 2

The Word: Episode 1258 Luke 24:36-49

“No Longer Slaves Leading to Fear”

April 13, 2020

“No Longer Slaves Leading to Fear”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

If you have truly repented/confessed/called upon the Name of the Lord, then you are saved and fear should have no place in your life.

Now, again, I hasten to state…not the fear of the fleeing backward when encountering a snake. LOL

I’m talking about the fear of the flesh.
The fear of circumstance.
The fear of man.
Such fear binds one and becomes the true god of life.

The Lord tells us that we are set free from such…

Rom 8:12-15

So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—

for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die;
but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again,
but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

We are no longer slaves to the flesh.
Such leads to fear.

We do well to examine ourselves.

We are told that we will know by “their fruit”…Jesus said…

Mat 7:20
“So then, you will know them by their fruits.

Which are you?

Fruit/deeds of the flesh?

Gal 5:19
Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are:
immorality,
impurity,
sensuality,

idolatry,
sorcery,
enmities,
strife,
jealousy,
outbursts of anger,
disputes,
dissensions,
factions,

envying,
drunkenness,
carousing,
and things like these,
of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you,
that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Or, fruit of the Spirit?

Gal 5:22-25
But the fruit of the Spirit is…
love,
joy,
peace,
patience,
kindness,
goodness,
faithfulness,

gentleness,
self-control;
against such things there is no law.

Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.

If you are not of the Spirit, you will manifest the deeds of the flesh as a pattern of life.

If you are of the Spirit, then you will live by the Spirit, walk by the Spirit, manifest fruit of the Spirit.

The Word: Episode 1257 Luke 24:36-43

“See. Touch.”

April 12, 2020

“See. Touch.”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!

Even in the face of impossibly good news - fear not!

Jesus’ disciples were faced with such.

He had been executed.
Dead.
Buried.

They had fled.

After three days/three nights (Matthew 12:40) His tomb was found to be empty.

Reports from the women stated that angelic messengers had proclaimed that He was alive.

The women also claimed to have seen and spoke with Jesus!

Could it be?

While on this “easter” (research what that word is really about&hellipWinking we proclaim “He is risen”, forget not that fear will seek to come against us.

Fear/confusion led the disciples to…

  • Not believe/question the report of the women…
  • Continue to hide, locked behind closed doors
  • Forget what Jesus had told them…He told them what would happen…

Can you imagine?

Then, this…

Luk 24:36-43

While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and said to them,
“Peace be to you.”

But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.

And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

“See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself;
touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.

While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them,
“Have you anything here to eat?”

They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;

and He took it and ate it before them.

The Lord stood in their midst.

Behind walls.
Door still locked.

They were startled and frightened…ya reck’n?

Jesus immediately cuts to the point…

“Why are you troubled?”
“Why do doubts arise in your hearts?”

He then encouraged them to…
See
Touch

Fear, doubt and confusion were transformed into joy and amazement.

This Word is for us.
Why are we troubled/fear-filled?
Why do we doubt?

Look to Him.
Touch Him.
If you are a true Believer, He dwells within you.
If you are not a Believer, He seeks to save you.

Fear not!
Doubt not!
Rest not in religious activities.
Rest in the resurrected Lord.

Joy and amazement are limitless in the Lord…

The Word: Episode 1256 Matthew 28:1-10

“Mockers…”

April 11, 2020

“Mockers…”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!

Nehemiah saw the fear of the people,
He did two things,.
He told them to fear not.
He told them how to “not fear”…remember the awesome Lord!

Two good things for us.

Let us back up to the beginning of this portion of the account…

Neh 4:1-3

Now it came about that when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall,
he became furious and very angry and mocked the Jews.

He spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy men of Samaria and said,
“What are these feeble Jews doing?
Are they going to restore it for themselves?
Can they offer sacrifices?
Can they finish in a day?
Can they revive the stones from the dusty rubble even the burned ones?”

Now Tobiah the Ammonite was near him and he said,
“Even what they are building—if a fox should jump on it,
he would break their stone wall down!”

Know this.

Believers who truly seek to live the life of Kingdom of God will be mocked.

Mocked by the world.
Mocked by religionists.

Consider Jesus.
His greatest attack came from the religionists.

They will be angry.
They will mock.
They will belittle.
They will argue.
They will lie.
They will draw into question.

We see it in this passage…
Feeble…
Restore themselves…?
Can they…?
Can they…?
Can they…?
Even if they do…it will collapse.

Can they?
No…

Can we?
No…

But, there is a God.
The Most High!

Fear not the mockers.

He can!
He will!

Will we allow?

The Word: Episode 1255 1 Peter 3:8-16

“When I Saw Their Fear…”

April 10, 2020

“When I Saw Their Fear…”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

The resistances is real.
It will increase.
The world will resist.
Religionists will resist.

But, know that the Lord is our Victor.
As we have seen, He will fight for us.

Let us look at an example from the Word…will take a few days. Happy

Nehemiah had been called by the Lord to lead in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.

He met resistance.
We will look at that later.

For today, look at what he did…

Neh 4:14
When I saw their fear,
I rose and spoke to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people:
“Do not be afraid of them;
remember the Lord who is great and awesome,
and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses.”

Nehemiah saw the fear of the people.

Do we see?

Fear is rampant among the people - Believers and non-believers.
Fear that is planned.
Fear that is manipulated and executed with an agenda.
The agenda will soon be revealed.
We as true Believers must be prepared to respond as Nehemiah did…to speak the truth.

This requires knowing the Truth.
The Truth of the Word of the Lord.
The truth of the realities of the day.

Are you preparing?
Many will depend upon you.

Be ready to do as Nehemiah…

He arose and spoke…
- to the nobles
- to the officials
- to the people

Note what he told them…
- do not be afraid
- remember the great and awesome Lord
- fight for your brothers/sisters/daughters/wives/houses

Arise!
Speak the Word of the Lord!

Get ready…
Do not be afraid.
Remember the Lord.
Fight!

Most will not believe what is about to come…
Many, including Believers, will refuse to believe the realities revealed…

We are here to help them understand…

The Word: Episode 1254 1 John 4:15-21

“The One With Us…”

April 9, 2020

“The One With Us…”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

As we see more and more from the Word, the more we see that fear has no place in the life of the true Believer.

2 Ch 32:1-8

After these acts of faithfulness Sennacherib king of Assyria came and invaded Judah and besieged the fortified cities, and thought to break into them for himself.

Now when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had come
and that he intended to make war on Jerusalem,

he decided with his officers and his warriors to cut off the supply of water from the springs which were outside the city, and they helped him.

So many people assembled and stopped up all the springs and the stream which flowed through the region, saying,
“Why should the kings of Assyria come and find abundant water?”

And he took courage and rebuilt all the wall that had been broken down and erected towers on it, and built another outside wall and strengthened the Millo in the city of David, and made weapons and shields in great number.

He appointed military officers over the people and gathered them to him in the square at the city gate, and spoke encouragingly to them, saying,

“Be strong and courageous, do not fear or be dismayed because of the king of Assyria nor because of all the horde that is with him; for the one with us is greater than the one with him.

“With him is only an arm of flesh,
but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.”
And the people relied on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

Some points…

“After these acts of faithfulness…”
Hezekiah had lead the people to destroy their idols, turn to the Lord and His Word and reform their ways.

Truth: Faithfulness does not mean that bad/difficult things will not come.
Truth: The enemy will come against us when we are faithful.

“Cut off the supply of water…”
Truth: Cut off anything that will bring sustenance and help to the enemy in our lives.

“He took courage…”
Truth: Make the decision. Take courage. Rebuild. Build walls against the enemy. Make weapons. Be aggressive in warring against the enemy.

“He appointed…gathered…”
Truth: Speak words of encouragement
Truth: Be strong. Be courageous. Do not fear. Do not be dismayed.
Truth: The One with us is greater than the one with him.

The One with us - the Most High God
The one with them - a rebellious Elohim

Truth: the enemy only has the arm of flesh
Truth: we Have the Lord our God. He helps. He fights our battles

We are entering days of extreme “shock and awe” in the battle against the enemy.
People will not believe what they learn.
They will not want to see/hear/know the truth.
The Lord will use true Believers to give insight and understanding,

Are you willing?
Are you ready?

Fear not.
Be not dismayed.
Be a “Hezekiah” with words that people will rely upon.

The Word: Episode 1253 Nisan 14

“Nisan 14”

April 8, 2020

“Nisan 14”

Blessings folk!

Time for the yearly reminder (rant?).
Happy

Today is Wednesday, April 8, Nisan 14 in the Hebrew calendar.
(Unless I’m mistaken, “our” calendar and the Hebrew calendar align this year with the week that Jesus died&hellipWinking

Leviticus tells us this…

Lev 23:5
‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight is the LORD’S Passover.

“At twilight” means “between the evening”…literally 3 pm.

Nisan 14 was the “day of preparation” for the Passover meal.
The lamb was killed at 3 pm.
The meal was prepared.
They sat down to eat the meal…at sunset.
At sunset a new day began…remember, the day begins at sunset in the Hebrew calendar.
Nisan 15 begins.
Nisan 15 is the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread - a High Day, a holy convocation day, a sabbath day.

Lev 23:6-7
‘Then on the fifteenth day of the same month there is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.

‘On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.

Jesus is our Passover Lamb.

1Co 5:7b
…For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.

Here is the correct sequence of events according to the Word…

Jesus died at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nisan 14.
He had to be taken off the cross because at sunset a new day began, a sabbath day.
Not the weekly sabbath.
The holy convocation of the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.

John 19:14
Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover;
it was about the sixth hour.
And he said to the Jews, “Behold, your King!”

 John 19:31
Then the Jews, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies would not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

 John 19:42
Therefore because of the Jewish day of preparation,
since the tomb was nearby, they laid Jesus there.

Evening/morning - Nisan 15 (Thu)
Evening/morning - Nisan 16 (Fri)
Evening morning - Nisan 17 (Sat)
Evening…Nisan 18 begins…Sunday, the Lord was resurrected at some time prior to the women finding the tomb empty just before dawn.

It is as Jesus said…

Mat 12:39-40
But He answered and said to them,
“An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign;
and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;

for just as JONAH WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE BELLY OF THE SEA MONSTER, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Three days.
Three nights.
Full.
Complete.
Not “portions thereof” as many try to teach.

Why is this important?
Well, we do not separate fellowship over such.
But, it is important.
Simple.
Why not be accurate?
Why not be correct?
People have questions.
People are curious.
If we are not willing to learn and then provide the truth over a simple, clear matter of timing, why will they listen to us about other things?

I have had folk get really bent out of shape about this.
Such should not be.
Go ahead.
Have all the various man-made gatherings to remember the various occurrences of the last week of the Lord in corporeal existence upon the earth.
It will do you no harm.

But, know the truth.
None of these gatherings/remembrances are mandates by the Word or the Lord…only by man.
Know that the timing of the last week - and there are many, many elements - confirms that which the Lord had given to His people through the ages.

And remember this…

In the same way that He fulfilled every prophetic element about His first coming, He will fulfill the Word related to His coming again.

The Lord gives us much insight and understanding.

Let us learn the Truth.

The Word: Episode 1252 2 Kings 2:15-23

“Know. Serve. Seek."

April 7, 2020

“Know. Serve. Seek."

Blessings folk!

Are you walking in faith?
Or, are you walking in fear?

Are you faithful?
Are you fear-filled?

Fear not!

Repeatedly the Lord tells us.
Repeatedly the Lord told His people, particularly leadership.

Look at this account…it will take us a couple of days.

The short of it is this.

David wanted to build a house unto the Lord.
The Lord told him “no”, but that he could gather material for it.
The Lord then told David that one of his sons would build it.

By the time we get to the end of the account we will see that David told the son, Solomon, to be courageous and to fear not.

Why fear in building a structure?
There will alway be those that seek to come against you.

Fear not…

1Ch 28:1-10

Now David assembled at Jerusalem all the officials of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the commanders of the divisions that served the king, and the commanders of thousands, and the commanders of hundreds, and the overseers of all the property and livestock belonging to the king and his sons, with the officials and the mighty men, even all the valiant men.

Then King David rose to his feet and said,
“Listen to me, my brethren and my people;
I had intended to build a permanent home for the ark of the covenant of the LORD and for the footstool of our God. So I had made preparations to build it.

“But God said to me,
‘You shall not build a house for My name because you are a man of war and have shed blood.’

“Yet, the LORD, the God of Israel, chose me from all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.

“Of all my sons (for the LORD has given me many sons),
He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.

“He said to me,
‘Your son Solomon is the one who shall build My house and My courts;
for I have chosen him to be a son to Me, and I will be a father to him.

‘I will establish his kingdom forever if he resolutely performs My commandments and My ordinances, as is done now.’

“So now, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek after all the commandments of the LORD your God so that you may possess the good land and bequeath it to your sons after you forever.

“As for you, my son Solomon,
know the God of your father,
and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind;
for the LORD searches all hearts,
and understands every intent of the thoughts.
If you seek Him, He will let you find Him;
but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.

“Consider now, for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary;
be courageous and act.”

Learn from this instruction to Solomon…
Know the Lord
Serve Him with a whole heart
Serve Him with a willing mind
Seek Him - He will let you find Him
Forsake Him? He will reject you forever

The Lord searches all hearts!
The Lord understands every intent of the thoughts of man.

Be courageous!
Act!

(BTW…note how David knew/knows that he would rule as king over Israel forever&hellipWinking

Romans Part 3 - Lesson 1

Romans Part 3 - Lesson 1

The Word: Episode 1251 2 Kings 6:8-14

“Lord, Open the Eyes…”

April 6, 2020

“Lord, Open the Eyes…”

Blessings folk!

The King of Aram was furious.

Elisha was receiving information from the Lord about Aram.
Elisha then warned the King of Israel.

Now, the King of Aram sought to capture Elisha.

Read what happens…

2 Kings 6:15-17

Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out,
behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city.
And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”

So he answered,
“Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.”
And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw;
and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

The attending servant to Elisha arose early in the morning and what did he see?
An army of horses and chariots circling the city.

His reaction?
What we would expect.
He cried to Elisha…”what shall we do?”

Do you not love Elisha’s response?
“Do not fear…”

How could he say that?
Well, the balance of the sentence explains.
“…for those who are with use are more than those who are with them.”

The servant did not know what Elisha knew.
The servant did not see what Elisha saw.

Elisha prayed to the Lord.
Elisha asked that his servants eyes would be open so that he could see.

The Lord did so.

What did he see?
A mountain full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

The Lord allowed the servant to see into the unseen realm.
The Lord allowed the servant to see where the true battle rages.

That is our prayer today for all of us.
May we have eyes to see.
May we know.

Eph 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers,
against the powers,
against the world forces of this darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Those that were with us are more than those against us.

Who is “with us”.
We usually think of “angels” and the such.
True.

Forget not.

As true Believers, we have the Most High dwelling with us.
The very Presence and Power of God.
Fear not.

1 Jo 4:4
You are from God, little children, and have overcome them;
because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

You are Overcomers!

The Word: Episode 1250 2 Kings 6:1-7

“Word In Your Bedroom"

April 5, 2020

“Word In Your Bedroom"

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

Are you walking in faith?
Are you submitting/succumbing to fear?

Saw a comment on social media the other day from an acquaintance.
He was speaking of “preaching to an empty sanctuary” while recording a message for the weekend.

I could not resist.
Had to respond.
So, I said “is it really empty”.
He understood…I believe with a chuckle.

Fear not.
We are not alone.
It is not “empty”.

I want us to look at some interesting things.

We saw the first part of 2 Kings 6 yesterday

Now, more…

2 Kings 6:8-14

Now the king of Aram was warring against Israel;
and he counseled with his servants saying,
“In such and such a place shall be my camp.”

The man of God sent word to the king of Israel saying,
“Beware that you do not pass this place, for the Arameans are coming down there.”

The king of Israel sent to the place about which the man of God had told him;
thus he warned him, so that he guarded himself there, more than once or twice.

Now the heart of the king of Aram was enraged over this thing;
and he called his servants and said to them,
“Will you tell me which of us is for the king of Israel?”

One of his servants said,
“No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel,
tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

So he said,
“Go and see where he is, that I may send and take him.”
And it was told him, saying, “Behold, he is in Dothan.”

He sent horses and chariots and a great army there,
and they came by night and surrounded the city.

The King of Aram was furious.
He sent a great army to capture Elisha.

Why?

The King had sought to war against Israel.
Yet, every time he planned with his leaders, word leaked to the King of Israel.
The King of Israel would guard himself based upon this information.

The King of Aram knew something was wrong.
He suspected a spy.

As often happens, a servant knew the truth.
One of the great lines in the Word…
Elisha the prophet tells the King of Aram that the King of Israel knows the words that you speak in your bedroom.
Nothing, however hidden or intimate, is hidden from the Lord.

The room is never empty…

The Lord was revealing to the prophet the truth of the matter.
The prophet spoke to the people of the Lord - in this case the King of Israel.

The Lord does the same today…

Amo 3:7
Surely the Lord GOD does nothing
Unless He reveals His secret counsel
To His servants the prophets.

1Co 14:1, 3
Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation.

1Co 14:24-25
But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an ungifted man enters
he is convicted by all, he is called to account by all;

the secrets of his heart are disclosed;
and so he will fall on his face and worship God,
declaring that God is certainly among you.

Prophesy.
Speak forth the Word of the Lord.
Speak forth the Truth of the Lord.
What might He reveal to/through His Body?

The Word: Episode 1249 1 Kings 17:17-24

“Floating Axe Head…”

April 4, 2020

“Floating Axe Head…”

Blessings folk!

Do not fear!

Are you walking in faith?
Are you submitting/succumbing to fear?

Some of you will remember this.

I needed to find something once…actually someone.

Someone hundreds of miles away.

This passage crossed my mind.

Read this account…

2 Kings 6:1-7

1 Now the sons of the prophets said to Elisha,
``Behold now, the place before you where we are living is too limited for us.

2 ``Please let us go to the Jordan and each of us take from there a beam,
and let us make a place there for ourselves where we may live.”
So he said, ``Go.”

3 Then one said, ``Please be willing to go with your servants.”
And he answered, ``I shall go.

4 So he went with them; and when they came to the Jordan, they cut down trees.

5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water; and he cried out and said, ``Alas, my master! For it was borrowed.”

6 Then the man of God said, ``Where did it fall?”
And when he showed him the place,
he cut off a stick and threw it in there,
and made the iron float.

7 He said, ``Take it up for yourself." So he put out his hand and took it.

I needed the Lord to “float the axe head”.

He did…an amazing thing…

The Lord will do the same for us…
If we fear not.
If we believe.
If we trust.
If we walk in faith.
If we abide in Him.

There is more to come from this chapter…

The Word: Episode 1248 1 Kings 17:1-16

“They Hate Without Cause…”

April 3, 2020

“They Hate Without Cause…”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!

Even when lied about…
Even when persecuted…
Even when in turmoil…

Fear not!

Remember the Words of the Lord Jesus…

John 15:18-25

18 “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

19 ``If you were of the world, the world would love its own;
but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world,
because of this the world hates you.

20 ``Remember the word that I said to you,
`A slave is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you;
if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

21 ``But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake,
because they do not know the One who sent Me.

22 ``If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin,
but now they have no excuse for their sin.

23 ``He who hates Me hates My Father also.

24 ``If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.

25 ``But they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law,
`THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.'

Believers will be hated without cause.
Fear not!

Believers will be persecuted.
Fear not!

Believers will not be loved by the world.
Fear not!

Believers will not be loved by religionists.
Fear not!

Why the hate?
Because they do not know the Father Who sent Jesus.
Because we are chosen out of this world!

They see Jesus…
They see Father…
They see Believers…
And they hate.

Fear not!
Some of those who hate will become brothers/sisters when they believe.

Remember the Word of the Lord.
Speak the truth.
Live the truth.
May they experience the Power and Presence of the Lord and His gospel through us.

The Word: Episode 1247 1 Samuel 12:19-25

“Thus the Lord Will Do To Your Enemies…”

April 2, 2020

“Thus the Lord Will Do To Your Enemies…”

Blessings folk!

Fear not!

Press on in that which the Lord is leading.

Let us finish the Joshua account we have been reading.

The principle to see from this passage is this - “fear not, press on to complete victory”.

Jos 10:16-27

Now these five kings had fled and hidden themselves in the cave at Makkedah.

It was told Joshua, saying, “The five kings have been found hidden in the cave at Makkedah.”

Joshua said,
“Roll large stones against the mouth of the cave, and assign men by it to guard them,

but do not stay there yourselves; pursue your enemies and attack them in the rear.
Do not allow them to enter their cities,
for the LORD your God has delivered them into your hand.”

It came about when Joshua and the sons of Israel had finished slaying them with a very great slaughter, until they were destroyed, and the survivors who remained of them had entered the fortified cities,

that all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace.
No one uttered a word against any of the sons of Israel.

Then Joshua said,
“Open the mouth of the cave and bring these five kings out to me from the cave.”

They did so, and brought these five kings out to him from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

When they brought these kings out to Joshua,
Joshua called for all the men of Israel,
and said to the chiefs of the men of war who had gone with him,
“Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.”
So they came near and put their feet on their necks.

Joshua then said to them,
“Do not fear or be dismayed!
Be strong and courageous,
for thus the LORD will do to all your enemies with whom you fight.”

So afterward Joshua struck them and put them to death,
and he hanged them on five trees; and they hung on the trees until evening.

It came about at sunset that Joshua gave a command,
and they took them down from the trees and threw them into the cave where they had hidden themselves, and put large stones over the mouth of the cave, to this very day.

The battle was over.
Victory was secure.
The Lord had fought for them.
The Lord had won.

The enemy kings had hidden together in a cave (how wise was that?)

They were now brought before Joshua and the chiefs of the men of war.

Joshua calls for the chiefs to place their feet on the kings necks.
They did.

Joshua then tells the chiefs…

  • Do not fear
  • Do not be dismayed
  • Be strong
  • Be courageous
  • This is what the Lord will do with your enemies with whom you fight.

Joshua then cuts off the heads of the kings.
He had them then hung on trees for the balance of the day.
At then end of the day they were unceremoniously dumped back into the cave,.
Not exactly the way the kings would have wanted to go…

Gruesome?
Yes

What is the principle for us?
Do not fear.
Press on to the end.
Deal with “the enemy” until the end.
Do not allow “the enemy” to “live”…especially within us.
Do not hang on to those “soft associates” of sin and evil.

Lop off the head of evil…

The Word: Episode 1237 1 Samuel 12:12-18

“Sun. Moon. Stopped”

April 1, 2020

“Sun. Moon. Stopped”

Blessings folk!

What if we as Believers did not fear?

We read yesterday that the Lord fought for Joshua and Israel.
He brought victory.
The Lord threw hailstones from the heavens and killed more enemy with the stones than Israel did by sword.

Would God do such for those who fear not?

I believe so.

But, there is more to the story…

Jos 10:12-15

Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel,
“O sun, stand still at Gibeon,
And O moon in the valley of Aijalon.”

So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped,
Until the nation avenged themselves of their enemies.
Is it not written in the book of Jashar?
And the sun stopped in the middle of the sky
and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.

There was no day like that before it or after it,
when the LORD listened to the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.

Then Joshua and all Israel with him returned to the camp to Gilgal.

Whoa!

The sun stood still.
The moon stopped.
For about a whole day.

Why?
So that Israel could finish off the enemy.

How?
By the voice of a man who did not fear but who called upon the Lord in faith.
Joshua “said in the sight of Israel”…before the people he declared it.
He said “O sun, stand still…and O moon…”
They did.

The Word tells us that there was no day like that before it or after it.

Why?
The Lord listened to the voice of man…and fought for Israel by stopping the sun/moon.

What will the Lord do for those who refuse to walk in fear?
What will the Lord do through those who choose to walk in faith?

Faith not fear!
