“Sanctification, Not Impurity”

Blessings folk!

We saw yesterday that the will of God for us is our sanctification - our holiness, that we would live holy.

God has empowered us to do so.
We can live holy.

I know what people immediately proclaim…”you’re speaking of perfectionism…of being perfect. No one is perfect. We all sin. I’m just a sinner saved by grace…”

Let me be blunt.

As long as you view yourself as a “sinner saved by grace”, then you will not grow in holiness.

Think on that.

We WERE sinners.
We were saved by the grace of God.
But, once saved we are now “saints - holy ones” who are called to live holy.
We are called, instructed, commanded and empowered to live holy.

Can we choose to sin?
Yes.
But, we do not “have to sin” because of our nature.
We sin because we want to, not because we have to.

The Lord would not tell us to do something that is impossible in/through Him.

Consider the next verses…

1 Th 4:7-8

For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.

So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

God has called us to holiness/sanctification - not impurity.

Do not reject the holiness of the Lord.
God has given you Himself via the Spirit.

Do not walk in the “I’ll always be a sinner” mentality.
Walk in who you truly are as a Believer.
A new creature.
A Spirit-filled Presence of the Most High God.

Choose holiness.
Reject sin.
