Children in the Fire
Today’s reading from the “So That’s Why” Bible consist of pp. 116-122, Exodus (sorry about the Genesis reference yesterday...thanks for pointing it out!!) 25-30.
Today is a day of extreme personal emotion...from one end of the spectrum to another…
Joy, thankfulness, gratitude...on the blessing of the Lord in a God-fearing wife...today is our wedding anniversary...God is good.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
But, then there is the realization that today is the “anniversary” of the Supreme court ruling that “legalized” abortion in the united States of America.
More than 45 million have died in the past 36 years at the hand of the abortionist.
Does the Word of the Lord have anything to say about this?
Most would say yes.
But what does the Lord say.
Well, to begin with…
13 Thou shalt not kill.
Now, I’m well aware that most of the debate related to abortion centers on a “woman’s right to choose.” The magnificently evil moniker of “choice” had clouded the issue. The enemy is sly and deceitful.
It is not an issue of “choice.”
I know the arguments…”what about incest, what about rape, what about…?”
One act of evil is not rectified nor negated by another.
The bottom line issue is that of selfishness.
People want to “control” their own life.
People exalt themselves as God...professing to know right from wrong...all the while deceiving themselves.
People worship at the altar of “convenience”. It is easier to abort an unborn life than it is to face the challenges of the life ahead.
Hear the Word of the Lord related to those who offered life as an offering to a pagan god. Molech was a pagan god. The people of the Lord were warned by God, repeatedly, not to pass their seed/children/offspring through the fire unto Molech.
In other words, not to sacrifice their children...kill them in a fire offering unto Molech.
We would say, “we would never do that.”
Yes we do.
We offer our children through abortion.
We worship the God of “right”, “convenience”, “freedom”, “money”, “don’t want to bring a child into this world…”, etc. etc.
21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the Lord .
2 Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
3 And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
4 And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:
5 Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
35 And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
Join with me in repenting and confessing before the Lord.
If the household of faith walks in forgiveness the Lord will move.
You would be amazed at how many “pastors” favor abortion. The most heated reactions that I’ve seen to the issue has been through these “leaders.”
They are literally slaughtering the sheep.
