“Treasures”
Blessings Folk!
Today’s reading:
Matthew 13:51-52

Jesus had spoken of many truths through parables.
He now asks His disciples if they understood “all these things?”
Makes one wonder what our response would be?
What would you say if Jesus asked, “do you understand?”
We would like to think we do understand, but the reality is that greater understanding is always to be had.
The disciples responded that they did understand.
Jesus then speaks of the religious who become Kingdom disciples.
The scribe becomes a disciple.
He is like the head of the household.
He brings out of his treasure new and old.
The “old” treasures of the scribe...the old covenant, the profound truths of the Most High...would now be combined with the new treasure...the blood covenant of the Lord Jesus.
What old/new is the Lord bringing forth today in each of us?
