Do we really trust the Lord?
In all things?
At all times?
Do we trust Him to orchestrate and direct every arena of our lives?
Do we submit to Him on a breath-by-breath basis?
Heed the Word of the Lord
1 Peter 5:6-7
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Note we have a role.
We are to humble ourselves.
How? Before Who?
We are to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God.
That He may exalt us.
God will not exalt us when we are busy exalting ourselves.
If we do so, we have received our reward.
When will God exalt?
In due time.
When He desires.
The sentence is not complete…
We are to also cast all of our cares/anxiety (NASB) upon Him.
To not do so is sin.
If we retain our cares/anxiety…
If we live a life of anxiousness…
Then we are exalt ourselves as God…
We are not trusting Him…
We have become idol worshippers...the idol of “self”.
Why should we cast our cares/anxiety upon the Lord?
Because He cares for us.
He cares for us more than we care for ourselves.
If we truly trust Him, then we will…
Cast our cares upon Him
Resist the temptation to exalt self.
Rest in the truth that He will exalt us at the proper time.
Rejoice in the truth that He cares for us.
Our lives would be changed.
