"I Shall…"
“I Shall…”
Blessings folk!
Psalm 119:12-16
12 Blessed are You, O Lord;
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have told of
All the ordinances of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts
And regard Your ways.
16 I shall delight in Your statutes;
I shall not forget Your word.
The Psalmist continues His declaration and requests with the statement of fact:
“Blessed are You, O Lord”
A good place for us to be at all time.
Blessing the Lord.
A request for all time - teach me Your statutes.
So often folk desire to be taught the statutes of the Lord, yet they will not make use of that which He has provided - The Word/The Bible.
The Word reveals His statutes.
Look at what the Psalmist declares he has done:
- with his lips told of all the ordinances of God’s mouth
- rejoiced in the way of God’s testimonies...as much as in all riches (more than money)
Then, the Psalmist states that he will/shall:
- meditated upon God’s precepts
- regarded God’s way
- delighted in God’s statutes
- nor forgotten God’s Word.
It is simple.
Upon what is your mind stayed?
Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
