"Garments of Skins"

Blessings folk!

Man rebelled against God.
That is the bottom line.
Again.
Man did not "fall"in the sense of an accidental event.
Man defied the one instruction/command that the Lord gave - eat not of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

When Man did this they had knowledge of good and evil.
Part of that was that realized they were "naked".
I believe this goes beyond the lack of clothing.
The lack of bodily coverage reflected and revealed something else.
I believe the Shekinah glory and Presence of God had left them.
The intimate covering of the Lord was gone.
They realized who they were without God.

Man's response?
Fig leaves.

A vivid picture

The best that Man could do in covering his nakedness is fig leaf.

What did God do?

He met the immediate need.
He did so in a way that addressed the need of the moment but also revealed much for the future...

Genesis 3:21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife, and clothed them.

The Lord clothed them.
Not with leaves.
With garments of skin.
With fine leather.

Again, the best man could do - leaves.
God?
Leather.

But, from where did the leather come.
Garments of skin.

Think on that for a moment...
To cover man, something died.
Blood was shed.

A picture of the salvation to be revealed...

Are you covered in the blood given for you...through Jesus Christ?
