“A Fool Astray”

September 30, 2021

“A Fool Astray”

Blessings folk!

Father now asks a question of his sons related to all that has been said about the adulteress.

Pro 5:20-23

For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress,
And embrace the breasts of a foreigner?

For the ways of everyone are before the eyes of the LORD,
And He observes all his paths.

His own wrongdoings will trap the wicked,
And he will be held by the ropes of his sin.

He will die for lack of instruction,
And in the greatness of his foolishness he will go astray.

Father had just told his sons to be exhilarated…to be intoxicated…by the wife of their youth.

Now father drives home the point with a question.
Why be exhilarated with an adulteress?
Why embrace the breasts of a foreigner?

There is no reason.
There is no purpose.
There is extreme outcome.

Remember…
- the ways of everyone are before the eyes of the Lord
- the Lord observes all our paths.
- the Lord knows.

One who chooses the path of the adulteress…
- will be trapped by his wickedness
- will be held by the ropes of his sin
- will die for lack of instruction
- will go astray due to the greatness of his foolishness

Be not a wicked fool.

“Be Intoxicated…”

September 29, 2021

“Be Intoxicated…”

Blessings folk!

The Word of God is sharp, vivid, bold, strong, insightful, unrestrained, etc. etc.

I’m always amazed by those who profess to believe, and yet they do not read the Word.
They often say that they “don’t get anything from it”.
Such reveals they are not really saved.
The Spirit will speak through the Word.

Father continues speaking to son, in bold, graphic, poetic language.
Father continues the warning about the adulterers.

Read…what do you see?

Pro 5:15-19

Drink water from your own cistern,
And fresh water from your own well.

Should your springs overflow into the street,
Streams of water in the public squares?

Let them be yours alone,
And not for strangers with you.

Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice in the wife of your youth.

Like a loving doe and a graceful mountain goat,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
Be exhilarated always with her love.

What is father saying to his sons?

Drink fresh water from your own cistern and well.
Drink “fresh water” from your wife, not “poisoned water” from the adulteress.

Springs overflow?
Streams of water in the public?
Sons, do not take your seminal streams to strangers in the public arena.
Let them be for you and your wife.
Rejoice in that fountain of blessing that emanates from you to wife.

Then…
Rejoice in the wife of your youth…a very familiar passage, but better context now!
Be satisfied by her.
Be exhilarated…literally means “be intoxicated”…always with her love.

“Groaning in the End”

September 28, 2021

“Groaning in the End”

Blessings folk!

Father continues warning son/sons about the adulteress.

Give close attention to what is said.

Pro 5:7-14

Now then, my sons, listen to me
And do not turn away from the words of my mouth.

Keep your way far from her,
And do not go near the door of her house,

Otherwise you will give your vigor to others,
And your years to the cruel one;

And strangers will be filled with your strength,
And your hard-earned possessions will go to the house of a foreigner;

And you will groan in the end,
When your flesh and your body are consumed;

And you say, “How I hated instruction!
And my heart disdainfully rejected rebuke!

“I did not listen to the voice of my teachers,
Nor incline my ear to my instructors!

“I was almost in total ruin
In the midst of the assembly and congregation.”

Father is telling sons to not give the vigor/strength/stamina/reproduction of youth to others.
Do not give your years to the cruel one.

Otherwise the outcome will be as described…
- groaning in the end
- flesh/body consumed
- awareness of the mistake of hating instruction/rebuke/listening to teachers
- almost being in total ruins in the midst of the assembly and congregation.

In front of God and everybody!

Note the word of hope…”almost”…

Reject the path of the adulteress.
Receive and walk in the path of righteousness.

“The Adulteress”

September 27, 2021

“The Adulteress”

Blessings folk!

Father continues to instruct son.
He now warns of immorality - especially the adulteress.

Pro 5:1-6
My son, pay attention to my wisdom,
Incline your ear to my understanding,

So that you may maintain discretion
And your lips may comply with knowledge.

For the lips of an adulteress drip honey,
And her speech is smoother than oil;

But in the end she is bitter as wormwood,
Sharp as a two-edged sword.

Her feet go down to death,
Her steps take hold of Sheol.

She does not ponder the path of life;
Her ways are unstable, she does not know it.

The son is exhorted to…
- pay attention to wisdom
- incline his ear to understanding
- maintain discretion
- speak with knowledge

Why?

Because the adulteress…
- has lips that drip with honey
- has speech smoother than oil
- is bitter as wormwood
- sharp as a two-edged sword
- has feet that will lead to death…Sheol
- does not ponder the path of life
- Is unstable in her ways
- does not know how she is
The adulteress rejects wisdom, knowledge and understanding,
Therefore, she finds herself on the path to Sheol and death.
Go not her way.

September 26, 2021

“Watch Over”

Blessings folk!

Hear the word of father to son.

He gets specific.
Note what we are to watch over…

Pro 4:23-27
Watch over your heart with all diligence,
For from it flow the springs of life.

Rid yourself of a deceitful mouth
And keep devious speech far from you.

Let your eyes look directly ahead
And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you.

Watch the path of your feet,
And all your ways will be established.

Do not turn to the right or to the left;
Turn your foot from evil.

Watch over your…
- heart
- mouth
- eyes
- feet

Note “why?”…more later.

For now…
Do not turn to the right or to the left toward evil.
Turn away from evil.

Turn to righteousness!

“Life and Healing”

September 25, 2021

“Life and Healing”

Blessings folk!

We saw yesterday that father said this to his son…

Pro 4:20-21
My son, pay attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.

They are not to escape from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart.

Why was father so insistent?

Because he knew.
Because He knows.

Giving heed to all that he has said to this point has impact.
More than we know.
More than many want to believe.

 Pro 4:22
For they are life to those who find them,
And healing to all their body.

The words of father…
The sayings of father…

…will bring life to those who find them.
…will bring healing to all their body.

All their body?

That is what the Word says.

Think on that.

What if we were to seek the Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding of Father in all things?

We would have true Life.
We would have healing.

Let us determine to seek the Way/Mind of the Lord more than that of man.
Life!
Healing!

September 24, 2021

“Way of the Wicked”

Blessings folk!

Give heed to the word of the father to his son.

The path of the righteous is lit…growing ever brighter.

Pro 4:18
But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn
That shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

The path of the wicked?

Pro 4:19
The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know over what they stumble.

The path of the wicked is dark.
Ever increasing darkness.
They stumble.
They do not know what they are stumbling over.

Pay attention to these word.
Do not reject them.
Keep them in your heart.
Keep them before your sight.
They will protect you.

Choose righteousness.

Pro 4:20-21

“Path of the Righteous”

Blessings folk!

We have seen what the Father has told the son related to Wisdom and evil.

Pursue Wisdom.
Reject evil.

Pursue the path of Wisdom.

Now, read the next verse.
It is likely familiar, but now we have a better context and understanding…

Pro 4:18
But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn
That shines brighter and brighter until the full day.

Yes!

The word “but” relates back to what was said as to the path of evil.

Think on the path of the righteous.

The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn.

The light of dawn that grows brighter and brighter until the fullness of day.

Are we walking the path of the righteous?

Is the Light growing brighter and brighter?

Have we attainted the fullness of day?

“Sleepless for Evil"

September 22, 2021

“Sleepless for Evil"

Blessings folk!

Father continues to exhort son as to the path to take.

Avoid the path of evil.
Pursue the path of Wisdom.

Read.
Note what occurs to those who pursue evil…

Pro 4:13-17

Take hold of instruction; do not let go.
Guard her, for she is your life.

Do not enter the path of the wicked
And do not proceed in the way of evil people.

Avoid it, do not pass by it;
Turn away from it and pass on.

For they cannot sleep unless they do evil;
And they are robbed of sleep unless they make someone stumble.

For they eat the bread of wickedness,
And drink the wine of violence.

Father exhorts/encourages/instructs/command son to:
- take hold of instruction
- do not let go of instruction
- guard her - instruction
- know that she/instruction/Wisdom is your life
- do not enter the path of the wicked
- do not proceed in the way of evil people
- avoid
- do not pass by
- turn away
- pass on

Father is pointed!

Then we see the depth of depravity of those who pursue evil.
- they can not sleep unless they are doing evil…wow!
- they are robbed of sleep unless they are causing someone to stumble
- they eat the bread of wickedness
- they drink the wine of violence

In other words, they are sustained by their evil, wickedness and violence.

Do not follow the path of evil.

Follow the path of righteousness.

“Devious Vs. Upright"

September 19, 2021

“Devious Vs. Upright"

Blessings folk!

The Father is presenting a stark contrast to the son.

Will you pursue Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding et. al.?
Or…
Will you pursue evil?

The Father closes this chapter with a clear comparison…

Proverbs 3:32-35

32 For the devious are an abomination to the LORD;
But He is intimate with the upright.
33 The curse of the LORD is on the house of the wicked,
But He blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
34 Though He scoffs at the scoffers,
Yet He gives grace to the afflicted.
35 The wise will inherit honor,
But fools display dishonor.

The Devious
- abomination to the Lord
- curse of the Lord on the house of the wicked
- the Lord scoffs at the scoffers
- As fools they will display dishonor

The Upright
- Lord is intimate with them
- The Lord blesses the dwelling of the righteous
- The Lord gives grace to the afflicted
- The Wise will inherit honor

The choice is clear.

Choose the way of the Upright.
Intimacy. Blessing. Grace. Home.

“Do Not…”

September 18, 2021

“Do Not…”

Blessings folk!

The Father has told the son, and us, to pursue Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge from the Lord.

To what purpose?

Just for the sake of knowledge, etc?
No!

Listen to the next instructions…

Pro 3:27-31
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in your power to do it.

Do not say to your neighbor,
“Go, and come back,
And tomorrow I will give it,”
When you have it with you.

Do not devise harm against your neighbor,
While he lives securely beside you.

Do not contend with a man without cause,
If he has done you no harm.

Do not envy a man of violence
And do not choose any of his ways.

Five times we read “do not”.

We see how were are to live with our neighbor…
- Do not withhold good when it is in your power to do good.
- Do not say “come back” later when you have it now.
- Do not devise harm against your neighbor when he is living securely beside you

We see how we are to be with man…
- Do not be contentious without cause.
- Do not be envious of a man of violence.
- Do not choose the way of the violent.

“Be Not Afraid. Sleep Well.”

September 17, 2021

“Be Not Afraid. Sleep Well.”

Blessings folk!

If you walk in the Wisdom of the Lord…
If you walk in the Understanding of the Lord…
If you walk in the Knowledge of the Lord…

Then, you can be assured of this…

Pro 3:24-26
When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Do not be afraid of sudden fear
Nor of the onslaught of the wicked when it comes;

For the LORD will be your confidence
And will keep your foot from being caught.

Are you hearing the Word of the Lord?!

If we walk with the Lord, we will not be afraid.
The corollary is true.
If we are in fear, we are not walking, trusting nor abiding in the Lord.

If we walk with the Lord, our sleep will be sweet.

If we walk with the Lord, we will not be afraid of sudden fear.
Think on that. Sudden fear will come, but, we will not fear.

Wickedness will come, but we will not fear it.

Why?

Because our confidence is not in our abilities.
Our confidence is in the Lord.

He will keep us from being tripped up.

We are in “training” now.
How are you doing?

Fear not.
Rest in the Lord.
Sleep well.

May we do likewise…

Pro 3:21-23

My son, let them not vanish from your sight;
Keep sound wisdom and discretion,

So they will be life to your soul
And adornment to your neck.

Then you will walk in your way securely

September 15, 2021

“Wisdom. Understanding. Knowledge.”

Blessings folk!

Father is speaking to son about Wisdom.

How deep is the Wisdom of the Lord?
How much Understanding does He have?
How much Knowledge?

Get ready for this…

Pro 3:19-20

The LORD by wisdom founded the earth,
By understanding He established the heavens.

By His knowledge the deeps were broken up
And the skies drip with dew.

It is by Wisdom that the Lord founded/established/created the earth.
Think about that.

It is by Understanding that the Lord established the heavens.

It is by His Knowledge that the Lord “broke up” the deeps and the skies drip with dew.

We have seen the Father speaking of Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge.

Now, consider the profound depth of it all.

Truly…

Isa 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways

“Blessed Is the Man”

Blessings folk!

The Father teaches more about wisdom…

Pro 3:13-18

How blessed is the man who finds wisdom
And the man who gains understanding.

For her profit is better than the profit of silver
And her gain better than fine gold.

She is more precious than jewels;
And nothing you desire compares with her.

Long life is in her right hand;
In her left hand are riches and honor.

Her ways are pleasant ways
And all her paths are peace.

She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her,
And happy are all who hold her fast.

Such is the blessed man.
The one who finds wisdom.
The one who gains understanding.

Wisdom is…
- better than silver
- better than gold
- better than jewels

Nothing compares with wisdom.

Wisdom brings…

Father continues speaking to son…

Pro 3:9-12

Honor the LORD from your wealth
And from the first of all your produce;

So your barns will be filled with plenty
And your vats will overflow with new wine.

My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD
Or loathe His reproof,

Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Such Truth for us!

Honor the Lord from your wealth, from the first-fruit.

Why?
So your barns will be filled with plenty.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,

“The Truth”

September 11, 2021

“The Truth”

Blessings folk!

We as Believers must be bearers and proclaimers of truth.
All truth.
The Truth of the Most High God.
The truth of data related to reality.
They are not mutually exclusive.

Another side-bar today.

Twenty years ago today there was an attack.

It is not what you think it is.
It is not what you have been told.

I vividly remember the morning.
We were about to meet for a Bible study at a local church.
I was preparing…setting things up, tables, chairs, coffee, etc.
I walked past a room that had a tv on.
The “news” was broadcasting that a “plane” had hit a building.
We moved the class meeting to that room.
We watched.
Then a second “plane” hit a second building.
Then the shocker.
The buildings collapsed in their footprint.

At that moment I knew we were experiencing a lie.
We were being had.
We were being played.
There was a far-greater evil afoot than we thought.

I was a chemistry major in college.
I know that hydrocarbons alone can not produce the heat required to collapse a steel framed building.
I know the buildings are designed to withstand an impact by a plane…had happened before.
I know that a building will not collapse at the speed of free-fall through such an impact.
The “science” does not lie.

Then, a greater “miracle” occurred.

Later in the day…six hours later?…another building a couple of hundred yards away from the Twin Towers…still in the complex…a 47-story building with a couple of office paper fires from collateral damage…totally collapsed in its footprint. Think of the size of that.
Impossible.
We have the fire-fighters recordings that state “get out…they are ‘pulling’” the building.
Industry talk for “imploding”.

We are discovering that many things that we have been taught and told are not/were not the truth.
I like Heiser’s phrase…”what you know may not be so”.

Things related to, but not limited to…
- the war of northern aggression
- Pearl Harbor
- The Pueblo
- The Liberty
- Iraq
- Waco
- many events on the date of April 19
- 9/11
- letter agencies…all of them…CIA, NSA, NIH, CDC, NASA, on and on ad nauseam
- organizations of man…Bilderbergs, Club of Rome, Council of Foreign Relations, Bohemian Grove, NATO, G7, etc. etc.
- most political leadership - past/present
- how you can stand on a beach and see a pier miles away
- current bio-attacks of the day

There are many, many more examples.

The point of all these, especially 9/11, is to do exactly what has happened - to created a fear-filled, compliant populace that will do what they are told…to their detriment.

To create something that is impossible to defeat or to end.
To create a “War on Terror”.
A war, not against an enemy, rather against a tactic - terror.

It has been very successful.

But, no more.

We know what the Word says…

John 8:31-32

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him,
“If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;

and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

This Truth of the Lord is not just for a “spiritual” application.

(I’m getting where I dislike the current usage of “spiritual” more and more…particularly within the church. Listen carefully. What is really being said? What is being communicated? What are we hiding?)

We as Believers are to know and proclaim the Truth and the truth.

Are we?

“Are You Ready/Willing?”

September 10, 2021

“Are You Ready/Willing?”

Blessings folk!

A little side-bar thought today.

Are you ready?
Are you prepared?
Are you seeking the Lord?
Are you willing?

Remember what Jesus did.
He proclaimed the good news.
He cast out demons.
He healed people.
He set the captive free.
He taught.
Etc.

Jesus then said this…

John 14:12
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also;
and greater works than these he will do;
because I go to the Father.

Are you doing the greater works of the Lord?
Or, are you doing the works of man?

Do you really believe?

The day is coming and is here.

I know several…I mean several…people that are undergoing physical challenges.
Some due to decisions they made.
Some due to life style.
Some due to fear.
Some due to ignorance.

It really matters not.

They thought they were safe via the devices of man.
They were not.

The truth is this.

The time has come when the “only way” for people to be healed and restored physically will be by the hand of the Most High through His Body.

Do you believe this?
If not, you better read the Word a little closer.

Are you ready to be the vessel that the Most High uses?

If not, then perhaps you need to consider this verse…

2 Co 13:5
Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves!
Or do you not recognize this about yourselves,
that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

The world will be…is now…flocking to those of True Faith.
Many will be saved.
Many will be healed.
Many will be set free

Are you ready to be used by the Most High?
Are you willing?
If not, today is the day of salvation…

“Trust in the Lord”

September 9, 2021

“Trust in the Lord”

Blessings folk!

Hang on now!
Happy

We have seen how the father (God) was telling the son (us) to…
- not forget my teaching
- let your heart keep my commandments
- allow peace to come
- not let kindness leave you
- not let truth leave you
- bind kindness and truth around your neck
- write kindness and truth upon the tablet of your heart

This is the immediate context for the next verse.
A well-known verse.
Even more meaningful now that we know context…

Pro 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.

Ah, yes!
Trust the Lord.
With all your heart.
Do not lean on your own understanding.

So much of what we do as Believers is based upon the understanding of the heart of man, rather than on the heart of the Lord.

Trust the Lord.
Do not lean…
Do not depend…
Do not seek…
Your own understanding.

As we have seen, seek the wisdom and understanding of the Lord.

Pro 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.

“Do Not Let…”

September 8, 2021

“Do Not Let…”

Blessings folk!

We read Proverbs 3:1-2 yesterday.
Now, add the next two verses…

Pro 3:1-4

My son, do not forget my teaching,
But let your heart keep my commandments;

For length of days and years of life
And peace they will add to you.

Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart.

So you will find favor and good repute
In the sight of God and man.

We saw the “let” word yesterday.
“Let your heart keep my commandments.”

We encounter it again.
“Do not let…”
We have responsibility in the Lord.
He equips and empowers us to “let” as He instructs and commands.

Here He tells us to “do not let kindness and truth leave you”.
Adhere to kindness.
Keep Truth.

But, not only are we to “let”.

We are to “bind” kindness and truth around our neck.
Instantly available.
Never separated from us.
A constant aromatic fragrance to remind us who we are in Him.

We are to “write” kindness and truth on the tablet of our heart!

Bind yourself to kindness and truth.
Engrave kindness and truth on your heart.

The outcome?
You will find favor in the sight of God and man.
You will find good repute in the sight of God and man.

Do it!

“Do Not Forget…”

September 7, 2021

“Do Not Forget…”

Blessings folk!

The Father continues to exhort His son…

Pro 3:1-2

My son, do not forget my teaching,
But let your heart keep my commandments;

For length of days and years of life
And peace they will add to you.

He exhorts his son to not forget the teaching.
He exhorts his son to let his heart keep his commandments.
“Let your heart…”
Don’t get let your heart get in the way.
Let your heart be filled with the Word of the Lord.
We have control…

Why?
They will add…
- length of days
- years of life
- peace

Some serious stuff here.

Adhering to the teaching and commandments of the Lord will add days/years of life.
You will attain and maintain peace.

Is the Lord speaking metaphorically here?
Is the Lord speaking of actually increased length of time?

Yes.

We all know people that were “ridden hard and put up wet”.
Go to your 25th high school reunion and you will see.

Those who pursue the things of the world will often look much older than those who pursue the Lord.

The Lord tells us the same thing in the book of Ephesians…

Eph 6:1-3
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER (which is the first commandment with a promise),

SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU, AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.

Keep the teaching and commandments of the Lord.
Live long.
Live in peace.

“The Strange Woman”

September 6, 2021

“The Strange Woman”

Blessings folk!

We have seen from the Proverbs that if we will cry out to the Lord He will give…
- Wisdom
- Understanding
- Discernment
- Knowledge

He will guard.
He will deliver.
Deliver from evil and the evil man.
Deliver from the strange woman…

Pro 2:16-19
To deliver you from the strange woman,
From the adulteress who flatters with her words;

That leaves the companion of her youth
And forgets the covenant of her God;

For her house sinks down to death
And her tracks lead to the dead;

None who go to her return again,
Nor do they reach the paths of life.

The Strange Woman:
- Adulteress
- Flatters with words
- Leaves the companion of her youth
- Forgets the covenant of her God
- Her house sinks to death
- Her tracks lead to death

Go to her?
- Never return again
- Reach not the paths of life

Go not the way of the Strange Woman…

“To Deliver You from the Evil Way"

September 5, 2021

“To Deliver You from the Evil Way"

Blessings folk!

The Lord has promised to deliver those who pursue Him and walk in His wisdom.

Read…

Pro 2:12-15
To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things;

From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness;

Who delight in doing evil
And rejoice in the perversity of evil;

Whose paths are crooked,
And who are devious in their ways;

The Lord will deliver us from the way of evil…from the evil man.

The evil man…
- who speaks perverse things
- who leaves the path of uprightness
- who walks in the way of darkness
- who delights in doing evil
- who rejoices in the perversity of evil
- whose path is crooked
- who is devious in their ways.

I know some of these people.
We see much evil today, much wickedness.

Rest in the Lord.
Trust in the Lord.
Turn to the Lord for deliverance.

“For Wisdom Will…”

September 4, 2021

“For Wisdom Will…”

Blessings folk!

Look a little closer at some of the verses we read yesterday…

Pro 2:10-13
For wisdom will enter your heart
And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

Discretion will guard you,
Understanding will watch over you,

To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things;

From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness;

This is what will happen if we pursue Wisdom…
- Wisdom will enter your heart
- Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul
- Discretion will guard you
- Understanding will watch over you

Think on this.

Wisdom/heart.
Knowledge/soul
Discretion/guard
Understanding/watch over

You be delivered…
- from the way of evil
- from the man speaking perversion
- from those who leave uprightness
- from those who walk in the way of darkness

Therefore, choose Wisdom.
Choose the Way of the Lord.
Walk in Light.
Walk in Faith.
Fear not.
He will give Wisdom, Knowledge, Discretion, Understanding and Deliverance.

“Wisdom. Evil.”

September 3, 2021

“Wisdom. Evil.”

Blessings folk!

The next portion of Proverbs 2 is a single sentence over several verses.
It is a bit of a synopsis, then it gives insight into some things.

For today, read the sentence.
Note who the main characters are…

Pro 2:10-19
For wisdom will enter your heart
And knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

Discretion will guard you,
Understanding will watch over you,

To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things;

From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness;

Who delight in doing evil
And rejoice in the perversity of evil;

Whose paths are crooked,
And who are devious in their ways;

To deliver you from the strange woman,
From the adulteress who flatters with her words;

That leaves the companion of her youth
And forgets the covenant of her God;

For her house sinks down to death
And her tracks lead to the dead;

None who go to her return again,
Nor do they reach the paths of life.

Who is mentioned?
- those who seek wisdom
- those who leave the path of uprightness
- the strange woman

Which are you?

“You Will Discern…”

September 2, 2021

“You Will Discern…”

Blessings folk!

We saw yesterday in Proverbs 2 that the Lord gives, guards, protects, shields, provides and preserves.

Now, the next verse…

Pro 2:9
Then you will discern righteousness and justice
And equity and every good course.

This is how we discern righteousness…
This is how we discern justice…
This is how we discern equity…
This is how we discern every good course…

Through the wisdom of the Lord.

Remember, the Lord gives wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

He stores wisdom for the upright.

We choose to walk in His wisdom or not.
We choose to appropriate His wisdom or not.
We choose to walk in His ways or in the way of man.

Which have you chosen?
Which will you now choose?

By which way will you discern?
Man?
God?

“The Lord Stores and Guards”

September 1, 2021

“The Lord Stores and Guards”

Blessings folk!

Hear the great truth of the Lord from second Proverb…

Pro 2:6-8
For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,

Guarding the paths of justice,
And He preserves the way of His godly ones.

For those who seek the Lord…
- He gives wisdom
- From His mouth comes knowledge
- From His mouth comes understanding
- He stores up sound wisdom for the upright
- not just wisdom…sound wisdom
- not for “everybody”…for the upright
- He is the shield
- to those who walk in integrity
- He guards the paths of justice..we need to hear and know this!
- He preserves the way of His godly ones.

If you are Believer, fear not.
The Lord gives.
The Lord guards.
The Lord protects.
The Lord is the Shield.
The Lord provides great stores of wisdom.
The Lord preserves.

Remember.
Rejoice!
