Eye-Winker

October 31, 2021

“Eye-Winker”

Blessings folk!

We saw earlier the one who “winks the eye”.
The one who is doing something they should not do.
The one who is “letting you in on it” by winking.
By saying “it is ok”.
By drawing you into their deceptions, lies, etc.

Avoid the eye-winker.

Pro 10:10-12
He who winks the eye causes trouble,
And a babbling fool will be ruined.

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,
But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all transgressions.

The eye-winker causes trouble.
The babbling fool will be ruined
The mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
Hatred stirs up strife.

We see this boldly manifested in the world today.
It is often viewed as a “strength”.

What about the righteous?
Their mouth is a fountain of life!
Life flows from their heart through their mouths.
They speak truth.
They proclaim blessing.
They bring forth correction unto righteousness.
All the while knowing, love covers all transgressions!

Are you a winker?

What do you speak?

Babbling Fool

October 30, 2021

“Babbling Fool”

Blessings folk!

The Proverbist has much to say related to wisdom and foolishness.

Hear what he begins to say about the speaking of such through the mouth/lips.

Pro 10:8-10
The wise of heart will receive commands,
But a babbling fool will be ruined.

He who walks in integrity walks securely,
But he who perverts his ways will be found out.

He who winks the eye causes trouble,
And a babbling fool will be ruined.

“A babbling fool” literally means “foolish of lips”.
Reread with this understanding…

Wise of heart will…
- receive commands
- walk securely in his integrity

The babbling fool will…
- be ruined
- be exposed as having perverted ways
- “wink the eye” and cause trouble
- be ruined…stated twice

So, it is simple.

Will we received the commands of Wisdom and walk securely and in integrity?
Or…
Will we be the ruined, perverted babbling fool?

Blessings or Rot?

October 29, 2021

“Blessings or Rot?”

Blessings folk!

Are you pursuing righteousness with all you heart, mind, soul and strength?

Hear the the Word of the Proverbist! (Is that a word? Autocorrect says “no”. It is now!)

Pro 10:6-7
Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
But the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

The memory of the righteous is blessed,
But the name of the wicked will rot.

Blessings are poured out upon the head of the righteous.
Blessed will the righteous be in the memory of others.

The wicked?
Their mouth conceals violence.
Oh, they sound good.
They look good.
But, underneath, in the depths of the heart, lies the wickedness of the evil one concealed.
Their name will not be blessed.
Their name will rot.
Rather graphic.

Which name do you desire?
Which life do you desire?
Which legacy?
Blessed?
Wicked?
A legacy of righteousness and blessing?
A legacy of concealed violence and rottenness?

Pro 22:1
A good name is to be more desired than great wealth,
Favor is better than silver and gold.

 Ecc 7:1
A good name is better than a good ointment,
And the day of one's death is better than the day of one's birth.

“Harvest"

October 28, 2021

“Harvest"

Blessings folk!

The Proverbs give clear, concise direction for living life.

What we should do.
What we should not do.

Give heed…

Pro 10:4-5
Poor is he who works with a negligent hand,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

He who gathers in summer is a son who acts wisely,
But he who sleeps in harvest is a son who acts shamefully.

The Lord has given us work to do.
He has laid it out for us…

Eph 2:10
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

We as Believers are created in Christ Jesus for good works.
Good works prepared by God “beforehand” - before He spoke creation into existence!

Therefore, we must be diligent in the work prepared for us.
Such will make us rich…rich in what/how?

We must gather in the time of harvest.

Now is the time of harvest.
Today is the day of work.
Walk in the work the Lord has given,.

Be not negligent.
Do not sleep during the time of harvest.

Be not the son that acts shameful.
Be the wise son!

“Ill-Gotten Gains”

October 27, 2021

“Ill-Gotten Gains”

Blessings folk!

The proverbs of Solomon continue…

Pro 10:2
Ill-gotten gains do not profit,
But righteousness delivers from death.

“Ill-gotten gains” can also be translated as “treasures of wickedness”.

Stuff gained in such a way does not profit one.

Much of what is “gained” today is done so by “ill-gotten gains”, even things that we consider to be “legal” or “normal”.

The pursuit of such treasures of wickedness will ultimately not profit.

What profits a man?
Profit?

Well, certainly there is nothing wrong with “making a profit”.
Such is the foundation of business.

But there is much wrong with living for/worshipping profit.

What profits a man is righteousness.
Righteousness delivers from death.
That is a good profit. Happy

The next proverb says…

Pro 10:3
The LORD will not allow the righteous to hunger,
But He will reject the craving of the wicked.

The Lord watches over and provides for the righteous.
They will not hunger.

The Lord will reject the “craving” of the wicked.
The Lord rejects the ill-gotten gains of man.

Which do you pursue?

“Wise/Foolish Son. Days.”

October 26, 2021

“Wise/Foolish Son. Days.”

Blessings folk!

We now move to Proverbs 10.

It begins with “the proverbs of Solomon”.

These are pithy insights into the truths of life.

Hear the first…

Pro 10:1
The proverbs of Solomon.
A wise son makes a father glad,
But a foolish son is a grief to his mother.

Joy and gladness come when one’s progeny choose the Wisdom of the Lord.
Grief in the heart of the parent is the fruit of choosing our own way.
Honor your parents by choosing Wisdom…remember…

Eph 6:1-3
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.

HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER
(which is the first commandment with a promise),

SO THAT IT MAY BE WELL WITH YOU,
AND THAT YOU MAY LIVE LONG ON THE EARTH.

There is a direct correlation between honoring parents…living in Wisdom…and length of days.

Deu 4:40
“So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today,
that it may go well with you and with your children after you,
and that you may live long on the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time.”

 Deu 5:16
‘Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you,
that your days may be prolonged and that it may go well with you on the land which the LORD your God gives you.

Walk in Wisdom.
Honor parents.
Live well the days the Lord grants you.

“Her Guests”

October 25, 2021

“Her Guests”

Blessings folk!

More insight/warning about the adulteress…the “wicked-city-woman”…

Pro 9:13-18

The woman of folly is boisterous,
She is naive and knows nothing.

She sits at the doorway of her house,
On a seat by the high places of the city,

Calling to those who pass by,
Who are making their paths straight:

“Whoever is naive, let him turn in here,”
And to him who lacks understanding she says,

“Stolen water is sweet;
And bread eaten in secret is pleasant.”

But he does not know that the dead are there,
That her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

Note who she is and what she does…
- folly
- boisterous
- naive
- knows nothing
- sits at doorway of house/high places in the city
- calling those on the straight path
- calling the naive to turn to her
- calling those who lack understanding
- calling them with the truth of a lie…
- stolen water is sweet
- bread eaten in secret is pleasant

But, those who partake do not know.
They do not know that the dead are there with here.
They do not know that her guest are in the depths of Sheol.

Do not go the way of such a woman.
Do not go the way of such a man.
Reject the siren call.

“By Wisdom"

October 24, 2021

“By Wisdom"

Blessings folk!

Father has been speaking to son(s) about Wisdom and Understanding.

Wisdom has been calling us.

Now, the writer of Proverbs returns to where he began…

Pro 9:10-12
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

For by me your days will be multiplied,
And years of life will be added to you.

If you are wise, you are wise for yourself,
And if you scoff, you alone will bear it.

Wisdom reminds us.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom.
Understanding is through the knowledge of the Holy One.

By Wisdom your days will be multiplied.
By Wisdom years of life will be added to you.

It is simple.
If you are wise, you are wise for ourself.
If you are scoffer, you bear it alone.

Are you multiplying days?
Are you adding years?

Pursue Wisdom.
Live in Wisdom.
Scoff not.

“Correct/Reprove Scoffer?”

October 23, 2021

“Correct/Reprove Scoffer?”

Blessings folk!

Pursue Wisdom.
Seek understanding.

But, know this.

Not all will receive the Wisdom and Understanding of the Lord through you…

Pro 9:7-9

He who corrects a scoffer gets dishonor for himself,
And he who reproves a wicked man gets insults for himself.

Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you,
Reprove a wise man and he will love you.

Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser,
Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.

A scoffer will refuse to listen.
Do not correct him, you will dishonor yourself.

Reprove a wicked man?
You’ll just get insulted.

Reproving a scoffer will bring hatred from him.

But, reprove a wise man and he will love you.

Give instruction to a wise man?
He will still be wiser.

Teach a righteous man?
He will increase in his learning.

Sounds like this…

Mat 7:6
“Do not give what is holy to dogs,
and do not throw your pearls before swine,
or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Come. Forsake.

October 22, 2021

“Come. Forsake.”

Blessings folk!

Wisdom calls out.
Wisdom invites.
Give heed…

Pro 9:1-6

Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;

She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine;
She has also set her table;

She has sent out her maidens, she calls
From the tops of the heights of the city:

“Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!”
To him who lacks understanding she says,

“Come, eat of my food
And drink of the wine I have mixed.

“Forsake your folly and live,
And proceed in the way of understanding.”

Look at what Wisdom has done.
- Built her house
- Hewn out her seven pillars (hummm…related to seven spirits of God?)
- Prepared her food
- Mixed her wine
- Set her table
- Sent out maidens to call

Note who they call…
- naive, turn in here
- those that lack understanding

What does Wisdom want us to do?
- Come
- Eat my food
- Drink my wine
- Forsake your folly
- Live
- Proceed in the way of understanding

This is the life of Wisdom.

Which are you choosing?
Folly?
Wisdom?

“Hate Wisdom? Love Death”

October 21, 2021

“Hate Wisdom? Love Death”

Blessings folk!

Wisdom continues to speak to “sons”.

Read.
Give heed.
Note the action…

Pro 8:32-36

“Now therefore, O sons, listen to me,
For blessed are they who keep my ways.

“Heed instruction and be wise,
And do not neglect it.

“Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at my doorposts.

“For he who finds me finds life
And obtains favor from the LORD.

“But he who sins against me injures himself;
All those who hate me love death.”

What are we to do?

Listen to Wisdom.
Keep the way of Wisdom.
Heed the instruction of Wisdom.
Do not neglect Wisdom.
Watch daily for Wisdom…at its gates.
Wait for Wisdom…at its doorpost…nearby.

What will be the outcome?

Blessing!
Find Wisdom? Find life!
Obtain favor from the Lord.

But, the one who rejects Wisdom?

Sins against Wisdom.
Injures himself.
Loves death.

“Playing…”

October 20, 2021

“Playing…”

Blessings folk!

Wisdom was with the Lord when He created.
Did you meditate upon the verses yesterday?
Remember what the Lord did…
- He established the heavens
- He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep (really important)
- He made firm the skies above (firm huh?)
- He fixed the springs of the deep
- He set the boundary for the sea
- He marked out the foundations of the earth (plural?)
This gives us tremendous insight into the true nature of the creation in which we live and of which we are a part.

Do we see?
Do we believe?
Or, do we believe what we are taught?

Now, read the next two verses…

Pro 8:30-31
Then I was beside Him, as a master workman;
And I was daily His delight,
Rejoicing always before Him,

Rejoicing in the world, His earth,
And having my delight in the sons of men.

Remember, Wisdom is speaking here.
Wisdom was beside the Lord…as a master workman.
Wisdom! The Workman of the Lord.
Wisdom was the daily delight of the Lord.
Wisdom was always rejoicing before the Lord.
Wisdom was rejoicing in the world, the Lord’s earth.

Now, hang on to this.

If you have a “study” Bible you might see that the word “rejoicing” means “playing”.

Think on that.

Wisdom was always “playing before the Lord”.
Wisdom was “playing in the world, His earth”.

Then, Wisdom has his delight in the sons of men…us.

Such is the way of Wisdom.
We are told repeatedly to seek Wisdom!

Pro 2:2
Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;

He Established, Inscribed, Made, Set, Marked Out

October 19, 2021

“He Established, Inscribed, Made, Set, Marked Out”

Blessings folk!

Wisdom was from before the beginning.

We have seen much that the Lord has revealed through Proverbs related to Wisdom.

Now, set aside what you think you “know”.
Read carefully.
Ask the Lord for revelation and understanding.
Do not read at a surface level.
Do not think exclusively in the natural of “our understanding”.
Definitely move beyond what you have been told and thought.

As we will see, Wisdom was “beside Him” when He…

Pro 8:27-29

“When He established the heavens, I was there,
When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,

When He made firm the skies above,
When the springs of the deep became fixed,

When He set for the sea its boundary
So that the water would not transgress His command,
When He marked out the foundations of the earth;

Look at what the Lord did.
Look closely.
Think/receive openly…

He established the heavens.
He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep.
He made firm the skies above.
He fixed the springs of the deep.
He set the boundary of the sea.
He marked out the foundation of the earth.

There is much, much more here than most realize.
Do you see?
Do you understand?

October 18, 2021

“Before…”

Blessings folk!

The Lord possessed Wisdom before anything of this creation existed.

- before His works of old
- when there were no depths
- when there were no springs of water
- before the mountains
- before hills
- before God made the earth, field and dust of the world

Pro 8:22-26

“The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way,
Before His works of old.

“From everlasting I was established,
From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.

“When there were no depths I was brought forth,
When there were no springs abounding with water.

“Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills I was brought forth;

While He had not yet made the earth and the fields,

“I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
And I find knowledge and discretion.

“The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverted mouth, I hate.

Wisdom cries out to man!
Understanding calls!

Will we listen?
Will we heed?

Hear the cry of wisdom…

Pro 8:1-11

Does not wisdom call,
And understanding lift up her voice?

On top of the heights beside the way,
Where the paths meet, she takes her stand;

Beside the gates, at the opening to the city,
At the entrance of the doors, she cries out:

“To you, O men, I call,
And my voice is to the sons of men.

“O naive ones, understand prudence;
And, O fools, understand wisdom.

“Listen, for I will speak noble things;
And the opening of my lips will reveal right things.

“For my mouth will utter truth;
And wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

“All the utterances of my mouth are in righteousness;
There is nothing crooked or perverted in them.

“They are all straightforward to him who understands,
And right to those who find knowledge.

“Take my instruction and not silver,
And knowledge rather than choicest gold.

“For wisdom is better than jewels;
And all desirable things cannot compare with her.

Understand prudence!
Understand wisdom!
Listen!
Listen to truth.
Reject wickedness.

Wisdom speaks righteousness.

Seek wisdom rather than silver.
Seek knowledge rather than gold.

Gold, silver, jewels, desirable things…all fail in comparison to Wisdom.

Pro 7:24-27
Now therefore, my sons, listen to me,
And pay attention to the words of my mouth.

Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways,
Do not stray into her paths.

For many are the victims she has cast down,
And numerous are all her slain.

Her house is the way to Sheol,
Descending to the chambers of death.

Continued exhortation…
- listen to me
- pay attention to my words

Continued teaching…
- do not let your heart turn to her ways
- do not stray into her path

Continued warning…
- many are her victims that have been cast down
- numerous are those slain by her

Declaration of final outcome…
- her house is the way to Sheol
- her ways/path descend to the chambers of death

Which way are you on?
Which path?

Do not play the harlot with the world…

Jas 4:4

“Cunning Woman”

October 11, 2021

“Cunning Woman”

Blessings folk!

Father tells son a story…

Pro 7:6-23

For at the window of my house
I looked out through my lattice,

And I saw among the naive,
And discerned among the youths
A young man lacking sense,

Passing through the street near her corner;
And he takes the way to her house,

In the twilight, in the evening,
In the middle of the night and in the darkness.

And behold, a woman comes to meet him,
Dressed as a harlot and cunning of heart.

She is boisterous and rebellious,
Her feet do not remain at home;

She is now in the streets, now in the squares,
And lurks by every corner.

So she seizes him and kisses him
And with a brazen face she says to him:

“I was due to offer peace offerings;
Today I have paid my vows.

“Therefore I have come out to meet you,
To seek your presence earnestly, and I have found you.

“I have spread my couch with coverings,
With colored linens of Egypt.

“I have sprinkled my bed
With myrrh, aloes and cinnamon.

“Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning;
Let us delight ourselves with caresses.

“For my husband is not at home,
He has gone on a long journey;

He has taken a bag of money with him,
At the full moon he will come home.”

With her many persuasions she entices him;
With her flattering lips she seduces him.

Suddenly he follows her
As an ox goes to the slaughter,
Or as one in fetters to the discipline of a fool,

Until an arrow pierces through his liver;
As a bird hastens to the snare,
So he does not know that it will cost him his life.

Go not the way of the harlot/adulterer.
It will cost life.
Be not the fool.

“Keep…”

October 10, 2021

“Keep…”

Blessings folk!

Father continues to speak to son.

He is repeatedly warning his son about the wiles of the adulteress.

Read and give heed…

Pro 7:1-5
My son, keep my words
And treasure my commandments within you.

Keep my commandments and live,
And my teaching as the apple of your eye.

Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.

Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
And call understanding your intimate friend;

That they may keep you from an adulteress,
From the foreigner who flatters with her words.

Father continues to exhort son to…
- keep my words
- treasure my commandments…within you…hummm
- keep my commandments…and live
- keep his teaching as the apple of his eye

How?
- bind them on your fingers
- write them on the tablet of your heart
- embrace wisdom as a sister
- embrace understanding as your intimate friend.

Why?
- they will keep you from an adulteress
- they will keep you from the foreigner who uses flattering words

Father is saying the same to us.
Keep yourself from adultery with the world.
Keep yourself in the Kingdom.
Do as Father instructed here…

“Jealousy Enrages"

October 9, 2021

“Jealousy Enrages"

Blessings folk!

Father is warning son about adultery.

What happens when discovered?

Pro 6:32-35
The one who commits adultery with a woman is lacking sense;
He who would destroy himself does it.

Wounds and disgrace he will find,
And his reproach will not be blotted out.

For jealousy enrages a man,
And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

He will not accept any ransom,
Nor will he be satisfied though you give many gifts.

The adulterer lacks sense.
They destroy themselves.

They will find…
- wounds
- disgrace

The spouses of the adulterers will…
- be filled with jealous rage
- not spare the day of vengeance
- not accept any ransom
- will not be satisfied with gifts or bribes

What then?

True forgiveness is the only way.
Perhaps they will forgive.

For true believers, we are called to forgive.
Others likely will not.

Beware.
Be warned.
Behave.
Believe!

“Lacking Sense”

October 8, 2021

“Lacking Sense”

Blessings folk!

Father continues teaching son.

Pro 6:30-31
Men do not despise a thief if he steals
To satisfy himself when he is hungry;

But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold;
He must give all the substance of his house.

Remember the context that we have seen previously.

What is being said here?

Even the world understands when someone steals food because he is hungry.
If he is caught, he must repay seven-fold from the wealth he has.

Now, read the next verse…

Pro 6:32
The one who commits adultery with a woman is lacking sense;
He who would destroy himself does it.

Remember the context.
Father has been warning son about the adulteress.

What does this mean?

Even men of the world understand when someone steals for food.
But, someone who commits adultery is lacking sense.
He destroys himself by doing so.
Senseless.

Beware.
Be warned.
Behave!

“Playing With Fire"

October 7, 2021

“Playing With Fire"

Blessings folk!

Father has much to say to son.

 Pro 6:27-29

Can a man take fire in his bosom
And his clothes not be burned?

Or can a man walk on hot coals
And his feet not be scorched?

So is the one who goes in to his neighbor’s wife;
Whoever touches her will not go unpunished.

Father is being forthright with son.

He tells him…
- do you think that you can “take fire in your bosom”…think on something in your heart
- do you think you can walk on fire
…and not be burned…scorched…consumed?

Such is the one who goes in to his neighbor’s wife.
One who touches will be punished.

In other words, if you play with fire you will be burned.

There is no “playing around with sin”.
If you “play in your mind” it is sin.
If the playing in the mind continues, it will be put into practice…sin.

Beware!
Be forewarned!
Behave!

“Lamp and Light”

October 6, 2021

“Lamp and Light”

Blessings folk!

Father continues exhorting son about his commandment and the teaching of mother…

Pro 6:23
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light;
And reproofs for discipline are the way of life

The commandment of father is a lamp to our way.
The teaching of mother is not heavy nor burdensome. It is light
The reproofs of discipline from both are the way of life.
They provide life.
They protect life.

Then, father picks up about the “wicked-city-woman” again.

Pro 6:24-26
To keep you from the evil woman,
From the smooth tongue of the adulteress.

Do not desire her beauty in your heart,
Nor let her capture you with her eyelids.

For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread,
And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.

The commandment and teaching will keep/protect from the evil woman.

He then tells son to beware.
To not desire her beauty “in your heart”…don’t think about it…don’t mess with the thought.
Do not let her catch your eyes.

Why?

A harlot will reduce you to a loaf of bread.
That is a picture.
Little value.
Common place.
Consumed and forgotten.

The harlot/adulteress hunts for such precious life,
Beware.
Be warned.
Behave!

“Commandment/Father, Teaching/Mother”

October 5, 2021

“Commandment/Father, Teaching/Mother”

Blessings folk!

Father continues to instruct son(s).

Give close heed.

Are you doing this as a parent?
Are you doing this as a child?

Pro 6:20-22

My son, observe the commandment of your father
And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;

Bind them continually on your heart;
Tie them around your neck.

When you walk about, they will guide you;
When you sleep, they will watch over you;
And when you awake, they will talk to you.

The Commandment of Father.
The Teaching of Mother.

As a father are you speaking the commandments of the Most High God?
As a mother are you teaching the doctrine and precepts of the Most High God?
As a child, what are you doing with the commandments and teachings of parents?

Are you…
- binding them on your heart
- tying them around your neck
- being guided by them as you walk about
- allowing them to watch over you as you sleep…that is interesting…
- allowing them to talk to you when awake?

Think on that.
The commandment of father…
The teaching of mother…
Will guide you…
Will watch over you…
Will speak to you!

Selah!

“Abominations”

October 4, 2021

“Abominations”

Blessings folk!

Father continues to instruct son.

Learn these.

Pro 6:16
There are six things that the LORD hates,
Seven that are an abomination to Him:

This is a “hebrew-ism”.
A way of saying something for emphasis.
These are seven things that the Lord hates.
They are an abomination to Him.

 Pro 6:17
#1 - Haughty eyes,

#2 - a lying tongue,

#3 - And hands that shed innocent blood,

 Pro 6:18
#4 - A heart that devises wicked plans,

#5 - Feet that run rapidly to evil,

 Pro 6:19
# 6 - A false witness who declares lies,

# 7- And one who spreads strife among brothers.

The world thinks that most of these are standard operating procedure.

Even many within the “professing church” do these things.

Do them not.

Set aside pride and arrogance - haughty eyes.
Speak truth - not the lying tongue
Save the innocent - do not shed their blood
Have a heart pursing good - not devising evil
Have feet that run to righteousness - not evil
Tell truth - not false witness and lies
Spread love - not strife among brothers.

“Wicked”

October 3, 2021

“Wicked”

Blessings folk!

Father warns son.

We see “wicked men” all through the Scripture.

Here is a good definition…

Pro 6:12-15

A worthless person, a wicked man,
Is one who walks with a perverse mouth,

Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet,
Who points with his fingers;

Who, with perversion in his heart, continually devises evil,
Who spreads strife.

Therefore his disaster will come suddenly;
Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing.

Worthless
Wicked
Walks with perverse mouth
Winks with eyes
Signals with feet
Points with fingers
Perverse heart
Continually devises evil
Spreads strife

Many are the wicked.
In the world.
Professing to be of “the church”.

Their outcome is certain.
Disaster will come them suddenly.
They will be broken.
There will be no healing.

Thank the Lord that we are no longer evil, is indeed you truly Believe.

1Co 6:9-11

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals,

nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.

“Wisdom From the Ant”

October 2, 2021

“Wisdom From the Ant”

Blessings folk!

Father continues to exhort son.

Now he is speaking of slothfulness…laziness…

He starts with a word picture…then a word of warning…

Pro 6:6-11

Go to the ant, you lazy one,
Observe its ways and be wise,

Which, having no chief,
Officer, or ruler,

Prepares its food in the summer
And gathers its provision in the harvest.

How long will you lie down, you lazy one?
When will you arise from your sleep?

“A little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to rest,”

Then your poverty will come in like a drifter,
And your need like an armed man.

Observe the examples in God’s creation - the ant in this case.
Wisdom comes from such observation.
(A vivid picture of how the church should be&hellipWinking

Then, awaken.

Know that if you are lazy, slothful, sleepy, then poverty will come.

God does provide.
But, we are not to presume/assume upon God by being lazy.

Do the work the Lord has provided.

Time’s a-wast’n…

“Save Yourself”

October 1, 2021

“Save Yourself”

Blessings folk!

Father now moves from the adulteress to giving his son counsel for life.

Pro 6:1-5

My son, if you have become a guarantor for your neighbor,
Or have given a handshake for a stranger,

If you have been ensnared by the words of your mouth,

Or caught by the words of your mouth,

Then do this, my son, and save yourself:
Since you have come into the hand of your neighbor,
Go, humble yourself, and be urgent with your neighbor to free yourself.

Give no sleep to your eyes,
Nor slumber to your eyelids;

Save yourself like a gazelle from the hunter’s hand,
And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

Father is telling son what to do if/when son ensnares himself with his mouth.
- by being a guarantor for a neighbor
- by agreement with a stranger
- by being caught in words from one’s own mouth

Father tells what to do and how.
- save yourself
- humble yourself before your neighbor
- be urgent with your neighbor to free yourself.

Free from what?

Your word spoken in haste.
Your guarantee.
Your handshake.

Do not sleep on it.
Do not wait.

Even as a gazelle or bird struggles to be set free from the hand of the hunter or fowler.

Resist.
Struggle.

Find a way!
