“Leave the Fool”

December 31, 2021

“Leave the Fool”

Blessings folk!

The Fool.
They are everywhere.
They are difficult to bear.

Hear the Word of the Lord related to the fool…

Pro 14:7-9

Leave the presence of a fool,
Or you will not discern words of knowledge.

The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way,
But the foolishness of fools is deceit.

Fools mock at sin,
But among the upright there is good will.

Fools mock sin.
Fools live in deceit, foolishness.

The Upright?
They discern words of knowledge.
They have wisdom.
They understand the Way of the Lord.
They manifest good will.

Did you notice the caveat?
We will not discern words of knowledge if we live and walk in the presence of a fool.

We must leave the presence of the fool.

That is a Word for the day.
Suffer not the fool.
Leave.

We will continue to learn much more about The Fool…

“Witness”

December 30, 2021

“Witness”

Blessings folk!

Are you trustworthy in what you say?
Are you trustworthy in what you do?

Pro 14:5
A trustworthy witness will not lie,
But a false witness utters lies.

If you are trustworthy in speech, you will not lie.
If you are not trustworthy, then you are a liar and a false witness.

Which are you?

Beware!
Be warned!
It is so easy to slip into a falsehood with the tongue.

Scoffers will belittle such.
But the wise will prepare beforehand in all things to speak the truth.

Pro 14:6
A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none,
But knowledge is easy to one who has understanding.

Scoffers of the world seek wisdom.
They think they find it.
All they find is the “wisdom” of the world.
Such will fail.

But, to the trustworthy…
To the Righteous…
To the Wise…
To the Understanding…
Knowledge is easy.

The Lord provides.
Be Trustworthy.

“Shovel”

December 29, 2021

“Shovel”

Blessings folk!

Ah!

Two of my personal favorite Proverbs…

Pro 14:3
In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back,
But the lips of the wise will protect them.

 Pro 14:4
Where no oxen are, the manger is clean,
But much revenue comes by the strength of the ox.

In the mouth of the fool is a rod…the next phrase means “of pride.”
So a rod of pride is in the mouth of the fool.
He beats himself with it.

Pro 16:18
Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

The Wise?
Their lips protect them!
They speak wisdom.
They speak truth.

Then 14:4.
Read it again.
Do you understand?

If there is no oxen, then it is easy to keep a manger/stall clean.
If there is oxen, you have shovel some stuff.
You have to clean.
But!!!
Much revenue/produce/yield comes by the strength of the ox.
It is worth shoveling stuff to have the ox.

Sometimes, we have to shovel stuff…
Such is the price of produce/fruit/yield.
Happy
It does us no harm…

“Build"

December 28, 2021

“Build"

Blessings folk!

Proverbs 14 resumes with contrasting the Righteous/upright with the Wicked/foolish.

How are you “building”?
How are you “walking”?

Pro 14:1-2

The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish tears it down with her own hands.

He who walks in his uprightness fears the LORD,
But he who is devious in his ways despises Him.

A gender-directed word!
Happy

A wise woman builds her house.
The foolish tears her house down…with her own hands.

We will see more about this as we go through the Proverbs.
For now…
Build with the Word.
Do not tear down with the words of the flesh.
Build in the Spirit.
Do not tear down with the soul.
You get the idea…

Walk in uprightness.
How?
By walking in the fear of the Lord.
Remember the early declarations in Proverbs.

Do not despise the Lord.
Do not be devious.
Many are those who profess the Lord, yet they are devious.
They reveal their true heart.

Beware!
Be warned
Be righteous!

“Fallow Ground”

December 27, 2021

“Fallow Ground”

Blessings folk!

Let’s look at the last of the Proverbs in chapter 13…

Pro 13:23-25

Abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor,
But it is swept away by injustice.

He who withholds his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite,
But the stomach of the wicked is in need.

We see that abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor.
Fallow ground is ground that has not been prepared for food production.
It must be cultivated and prepared to receive seed.
There is great potential there to feed the poor, but it is swept away by injustice.

Some things never change.

The Righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite…for food, for purpose, etc.
The “wanter” of the Righteous is in correct relationship with the Most High God.

The Wicked?
They are always “hungry”.
They always want “more”.
They are never satisfied.

It is a heart issue.

Lastly, if we love our children we will discipline them….diligently.
If you withhold discipline you hate your child.
This speaks of all forms of discipline.
Children are “fallow ground”.
Tremendous potential for abundant fruit.

The Lord does the same for us…

Deu 8:5
“Thus you are to know in your heart that the LORD your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.

 Heb 12:6
FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”

“Inheritance”

December 26, 2021

“Inheritance”

Blessings folk!

What inheritance are you building?

We usually default to thoughts of money, materiel and stuff when speaking of inheritance.

This would be wrong.

Are you living an inheritance of…
- peace
- mercy
- thankfulness
- liberty
- freedom
- truth
- righteousness
- faithfulness
- holiness

Pro 13:21
Adversity pursues sinners,
But the righteous will be rewarded with prosperity.

A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,
And the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

The righteous will have an inheritance of prosperity that will extend to their grandchildren.

The sinner.
Their wealth will be stored up for the righteous.

What are you building?
What foundation are you laying?
Stuff for now?
Or…
Are you building an inheritance that will stretch to the generations yet to come?

Examine yourself.
What is really important to you?
What are you really doing…?

“September 11, 3 B.C.”

December 25, 2021

“September 11, 3 B.C.”

Blessings folk!

Ah!
’Tis the day that we celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus.
His “coming again the first time”.
It is fine to celebrate, though we are not told directly in the Word to do so.

It is better to anticipate/celebrate His return.
We are told to do that.

2 Pe 3:11-13

Since all these things are to be dissolved in this way,
it is clear what sort of people you should be in holy conduct and godliness

as you wait for the day of God and hasten its coming.
Because of that day, the heavens will be dissolved with fire and the elements will melt with heat.

But based on his promise,
we wait for new heavens and a new earth,
where righteousness dwells.

We wait for the new heavens and the new earth.
We wait for the day of God.
We hasten the coming of the day of God.
How?
Holy conduct.
Godliness.

That is interesting.

One last thing.

We know that Jesus was not born on December 25.
Why the celebration on that day?
Likely several reasons…
- the Magi visited that time of year
- the “christianization” of pagan celebrations (Saturnalia, et. al.)
- etc. etc.

I believe we do know the exact date/year of His birth.

Is it necessary to know such?
No.

But remember what the Lord said.

Pro 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

Though not overtly stated, such things can be searched out.

Jesus was born on September 11, 3 B.C.

Want to know the details.

These are worth your time…

https://drmsh.com/september-11-happy-birthday-to-jesus/

https://www.askelm.com/star/
(You can read and/or listen to the book.)

Blessed, blessed “Holy-day” of the Lord.

Remember, in the same way that the Lord fulfilled every prophetic Word related to His coming the first time, He will do so with His coming again.

Make haste.
Be ready.
Be prepared.
The Lord has told us to do so.
He has warned us.

“Wise Discipline”

“Wise Discipline”

Blessings folk!

We are all instructed by someone/something.
We are all disciplined by someone/something.

In what discipline to you walk?

The Way of the Lord is the path.

Any other way brings poverty, shame.

Pursue the Way of the Lord and you will be honored.

Pro 13:18
Poverty and shame will come to him who neglects discipline,
But he who regards reproof will be honored.

Turn away from evil.
Turn your desire toward the Lord.
Sweetness of soul will be found.
Peace.
Joy.
Comfort.

Por 13:19
Desire realized is sweet to the soul,
But it is an abomination to fools to turn away from evil.

Last thought.
With whom do you walk?
The Wise?
The Fool?

Pro 13:20
He who walks with wise men will be wise,
But the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Walk with the wise and you will be wise.
Walk with the fool and you will suffer harm.

“Faithful Envoy”

Blessings folk!

What “message” does your life communicate?
Think carefully.

Many are those who profess to be “believers”, and yet a cursory look at their lives reveals otherwise.

Oh certainly, they act “holy”, “godly”, “religious”, when it is “time to do so”…scheduled “worship gathering”, scheduled “church events” and the like.

But, when examined moment by moment, it is revealed that the true nature of their life is not one of holiness and godliness.

They just plug the “god-thing” into their life as convenient.

They are not transformed into Christ-likeness.

They are conformed to the world with a shiny veneer of religion.

This is not the true life of the Kingdom.

Pro 13:17
A wicked messenger falls into adversity,
But a faithful envoy brings healing.

A Faithful envoy…representative messenger…will bring healing in the life that he lives.
He will manifest the Presence of the Lord.
He will live in the Power of God at all times.
He will Proclaim the Kingdom with every breath by word and deed.

The “wicked messenger”…the fraud, the fake…does not do so.
He falls into adversity.
He tries to look good, act good, do good…all in the flesh while professing to “serve the Lord”.

Beware!
Be warned!

The Lord is calling us to be faithful envoys, not fraudulent, fruitless, failing, falling messengers.

“Fountain of Life”

December 22, 2021

“Fountain of Life”

Blessings folk!

Repeatedly the Proverbist is teaching of wisdom, knowledge, wickedness and foolishness.

The Truth continues…

Pro 13:14-16
The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life,
To turn aside from the snares of death.

Good understanding produces favor,
But the way of the treacherous is hard.

Every prudent man acts with knowledge,
But a fool displays folly.

A “fountain of life”.
Man has searched for it for millennia.

The Word tells us where it is!
It is in the teaching of the wise.
Such will turn one aside/away from the snares of death.
Such good understanding will produce favor - in the eyes of the Lord.
Such knowledge will bring prudence (not prudishness) into the life of a man.

Who is the one who rejects this teaching?
The fool.
The one who displays folly.
The one who is treacherous.
The one on the hard way.

Do you receive wise teaching?
Do you receive from the Word?
Do you receive from the Spirit?
Do you receive from the Body?

Receive of the fountain of Life that the Lord has for each.
Turn from death to life.

To His praise, glory and honor…

Do you learn/know the Word?
Do you honor the Word?
Do you live the Word?

Or, do you despise the Word?

Few are those who would proclaim that they despise the Word of God.
Many are those who reveal by their lives that they do despise the Word.

Lives another.

Of course, the Proverbs speaks to this. Happy

Pro 13:13
The one who despises the word will be in debt to it,
But the one who fears the commandment will be rewarded.

Despise the Word.

Love the Word.

You will be rewarded.

“Unity”

December 20, 2021

“Unity”

Blessings folk!

I just finished responding to an exhortation I received this morning.
The exhortation was good.
A portion of it related to “unity in the church”.

My response:

Yes!

By definition, True Believers are unified. By the Spirit. The fulness of the Godhead within us.

We need not pray to “attain” unity.
We already have it.
We are told to not quench unity/spirit.
We are told to preserve the unity of the Spirit…unity that is already there in True Believers

1Th 5:19
Do not quench the Spirit;

Eph 4:1-3
Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,
being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Jesus speaks of true unity in His prayer to Father…

Jhn 17:23
I am in them and you are in me.
May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.

We are one mind in the Lord...

Phl 1:27
Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

True Believers are “OneAnother” through/in the Lord…

1 Cor 6
1 Cor 12
Eph 2
Eph 4
Etc.

Of course, the problem arises with the creepers…

Jude 1

And with the tares…

Matt 13

True Believers can not/will not, by definition, be one/unified with tares/unbelievers.
Thus the stress in many local bodies.
We think all are in correct relationship with the Most High.
They are not.

Therefore, the need for proclamation of the Word and the power of the gospel.
Therefore, the need for discerning of spirits and the functioning of all that that Spirit desires to release.
Therefore, the need to “examine ourselves”…
Therefore, the need to “do it the way the Bible says”.

2 Co 13:5
Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.

What is needed is not “revival” in the colloquial sense of the word in our culture.

What is needed is the Presence of God.

Jas 4:10
Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

Jde 1:24
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy,

What is needed is the Power of God.

Rom 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Rom 15:17-19
Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to God.
For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed,
in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

1 Cor 1-6

Eph 1, 3

Col 1:29
For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

2Ti 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

What is needed is the Body of Christ to simply live as God is calling each of us.

What is needed is for True Believers to know who they are in Christ.

Rom 3, 6, 8, 12, 15

What is needed is for “false professors”/unbelievers to know that they are not saved…then repent, confess, call upon the name of the Lord and be baptized for remission of sin…

Act 2:38-29
Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. “For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.”

Act 3:19-21
“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you,
whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.

What is needed is Him glorified above all things.

1Pe 4:11
Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

In this, will many be drawn into the Kingdom.

“Wealth. Hope.”

December 19, 2021

“Wealth. Hope.”

Blessings folk!

The Proverbs give us insight into how to handle many things of life.

What of wealth?
What of hope?

Pro 13:11-12

Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles,
But the one who gathers by labor increases it.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

If one gains “wealth/money/possessions” by fraud, then it will dwindle.
Some point.
Some time.

If one gains/gathers by labor, then increase will come.
Some point.
Some time.

When there is no hope - hope deferred - the heart becomes sick.
But, hope/desire fulfilled is a tree of life.

Put your hope in the Lord.
Not in the world.

Desire the things of the Lord.
Not the things of the world.

Labor for the things of the Lord.
Not the things of this life.

Desire fulfillment in the Tree of Life…yet to come.

“Insolent?”

December 18, 2021

“Insolent?”

Blessings folk!

Are you “teachable”?

That is a phrase that often pops up in certain situations.

It is a legitimate question…

Pro 13:10
Through insolence comes nothing but strife,
But wisdom is with those who receive counsel.

Wisdom is with those who receive counsel.
Wisdom is with those that are “teachable”.
But…
Beware!
There are those who demand that you be “teachable”.
What they really want is “you will do it my way or else…”
(I see this a lot in the church&hellipWinking
That is not “teachable”.
That is manipulation.
That is witchcraft.

If you are insolent, then nothing will come but strife.
But…
Do not confuse someone “not wanting to do it your way” with insolence.

A heart that is wise will be teachable.
A heart that is unwise will be one of strife.

A heart transformed by the Spirit will be wise.
An untransformed heart will manifest the deeds of the flesh…insolence, strife, etc.

Which are you?

“Pretenders”

December 17, 2021

“Pretenders”

Blessings folk!

Read carefully.
What do you think is being said?

Pro 13:7-9

There is one who pretends to be rich, but has nothing;
Another pretends to be poor, but has great wealth.

The ransom of a man’s life is his wealth,
But the poor hears no rebuke.

The light of the righteous rejoices,
But the lamp of the wicked goes out.

Here is the bottom line.

“Rich” is not what man thinks it is.
“Poor” is not either.

“Rich” is not in the accumulation of stuff.
“Poor” is not the lack of stuff.

“The ransom” means “the price of a life”.
What is being said?
The outcome of a righteous life is true wealth.
The righteous hear and know.
The “poor in spirit” will hear no rebuke from the Lord!

Mat 5:3
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

What are you rich in?

Jas 2:5
Listen, my beloved brethren:
did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

Are you a light of righteous rejoicing in the brilliance of the richness of the Lord?
Are you rich in faith?
Or, are you a struggling lamp whose light is dying in the pursuit of stuff?

“Hate Falsehood”

December 16, 2021

“Hate Falsehood”

Blessings folk!

The Righteous.
The Wicked.

The distinction is becoming clearer and clearer.
So much in Proverbs…

Pro 13:5-6

A righteous man hates falsehood,
But a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully.

Righteousness guards the one whose way is blameless,
But wickedness subverts the sinner.

A righteous person hates falsehood.
They love truth.
So many professing-righteous operate in falsehood.
It is a pattern and practice of behavior.
It is strong evidence that they are not really saved.
Really?
Yep.
Read…

Rev 21:8
“But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

Liars will have a future of eternal lake of fire.

The wicked act shamefully, disgustingly.
They are subverted.
They are perverted.

The Blameless?
They are guarded by righteousness.

Live the way of righteousness.

Soul

December 15, 2021

“Soul”

Blessings folk!

Humans are tripartite beings.
We consist
- Spirit
- Soul
- Body

Yeah, I know there is debate over that understanding.

Some believe we are spirit/soul and body.
I understand.

But, the Word says…

Heb 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit,
and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

This verse seems to imply that the soul and spirit can be divided.

So, hear the next Proverb…

Pro 13:4
The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing,
But the soul of the diligent is made fat.

The soul.
The seat of the emotions.

Is your soul a sluggard?
Lazy.
Slothful.
Self-absorbed.
Craving without satisfaction.
Getting nothing.

Or…

Is your soul diligent?
Seeking the Kingdom of God.
Growing in righteousness.
Growing “fat”=prospering.

Be diligent in the Lord.

“Guard the Mouth”

December 14, 2021

“Guard the Mouth”

Blessings folk!

The Proverbist continues to give more…and more…insight into the wicked and the righteous.

Pro 13:1-3

A wise son accepts his father’s discipline,
But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.

From the fruit of a man’s mouth he enjoys good,
But the desire of the treacherous is violence.

The one who guards his mouth preserves his life;
The one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin.

Consider the righteous.
- they accept father’s discipline
- the fruit of his mouth brings forth good
- they guard their mouth, thereby preserving life

The wicked?
- scoffs
- does not listen to rebuke
- are treacherous
- are violent
- “opens wide his lips”…will not shut up…LOL…thereby comes to ruin.

The Lord has told us so much…so far!
The Lord has empowered each true Believer to live as righteous.

Choose the wise, righteous tongue.
Reject the blabbering of the wicked.

“Diligence”

December 13, 2021

“Diligence”

Blessings folk!

What would you count as a “precious possession”?

Read these three Proverbs…interesting…

Pro 12:26-28

The righteous is a guide to his neighbor,
But the way of the wicked leads them astray.

A lazy man does not roast his prey,
But the precious possession of a man is diligence.

In the way of righteousness is life,
And in its pathway there is no death.

Ever thought of that?
Have you considered that “diligence” is a precious possession?

A righteous man is diligent.
Diligent as a guide into righteousness to his neighbor.
Diligent in the way of righteousness…in the way of life!

The wicked?
The lazy?
Their way leads them astray.
They will not “roast” (catch) his prey.
They walk the pathway that leads to death.

Choose wisdom.
Choose righteousness.
Choose the way of Life.
Choose diligence.

This is a problem with so many who profess to be Believers.
The Word speaks of this…a lot…still, we do not trust.

Pro 12:25
Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down,
But a good word makes it glad.

Anxiety.
It is a strategy of the evil one.
Anxiousness.

We are told to be not anxious…

Phl 4:6
Be anxious for nothing,
but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Speak forth the good Word.
The Word of thanksgiving.
The Word in prayer.
The Word in supplication.

Do not be trip up by anxiety.

Jesus tells us to “not worry”…

Mat 6:25
“For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on.
Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Jesus tells us what to do…

Mat 6:33
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.

Anxiety and being anxious is idolatry.
It is trusting in self and circumstance more than in God.
Such is idolatry.

Do not be anxious.

“Prudent”

December 11, 2021

“Prudent”

Blessings folk!

There is so much in the Proverbs!

How to live righteously.
How to avoid wickedness.

Learn.
Take the Truth into your spirit.

Next…

Pro 12:23-24

A prudent person conceals knowledge,
But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

The hand of the diligent will rule,
But the lazy hand will be put to forced labor.

Be prudent.
You do not always have to reveal all known.
As Jesus said, cast not the pearls before the swine…

Mat 7:6
Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine,
lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Be diligent.

Do not be a fool, proclaiming foolishness
Do not be lazy, being forced to labor.

Seek the Way of the Lord in all things!

“Lying Lips”

December 10, 2021

“Lying Lips”

Blessings folk!

The Lord continues to reveal truth related to the Righteous and wicked.

One of these verses is very familiar to most…

Pro 12:21-22

No harm happens to the righteous,
But the wicked are filled with trouble.

Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD,
But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

Rejoice in this ye Righteous!
No harm will happen to you.
Oh, the wicked may kill you physically, but no harm will happen to your eternal being!

Deal faithfully ye Righteous, especially with your lips, and thereby be the delight of the Lord!

You wicked?!
You will be filled with trouble…particularly eternally.

Know this wicked.
Lying lips are one of the “abomination to the Lord”.

Think on that!

There are too many who profess to be Righteous, yet they have lying lips.
Their abominable lips reveal their true status related to the Lord.
The Lord makes it clear.
Liars will not inherit the Kingdom.

Rev 21:8
“But for the cowardly, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

“Truth-Teller”

December 9, 2021

“Truth-Teller”

Blessings folk!

There is such a need in the Body of Christ for what the Proverbist says next.

He speaks of the necessity of speaking truth.
He speaks of the necessity of rejecting deceit.

Hear!

Pro 12:17-20
One who declares truth tells what is right,
But a false witness, deceit.

There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword,
But the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Truthful lips will endure forever,
But a lying tongue is only for a moment.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil,
But counselors of peace have joy.

Be a Truth-Teller
- speak what is right
- have a wise tongue bringing healing
- have truthful lips…they last forever
- be a counselor, proclaimer of peace
- have joy

Do not be the opposite
- false witness
- deceiver
- rash speaker
- lying tongue
- deceitful of heart
- deviser of evil

True Believers are empowered to live as Truth-Tellers.
Now, do it.

Religionist/non-believers will not be truth-tellers.
Their nature is one of the flesh and sin.

Which are you?

“The Fool”

December 8, 2021

“The Fool”

Blessings folk!

Ah!
The Fool!

The Word tells us much about The Fool and his way…

Pro 12:15-16

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes,
But a person who listens to advice is wise.

A fool’s anger is known at once,
But a prudent person conceals dishonor.

The Fool…
- is right in his own eyes
- does not listen to advise
- is unteachable
- reveals anger at once…does not attempt to control it

Many are fools.

The Prudent?
- listens to advice
- is wise
- seeks wisdom
- conceals dishonor…does not readily explode in anger…nor readily reveal thoughts that might not be wise. Happy

Fewer are Prudent.

The Fool is full of bull and bluster.
The Fool hides behind “position” and “authority”.
The Fool thinks only of self.

The Prudent…the Righteous?…does not do so.

Which are you?

“Fruit of Words”

December 7, 2021

“Fruit of Words”

Blessings folk!

There is power in the spoken word!
There is power in the deed of the Righteous!

Hear the Word of the Lord…

Pro 12:14
A person will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words,
And the deeds of a person’s hands will return to him.

What are the fruit of your words?
Good?
Evil?

Are you satisfied?

It begins with the word from the mouth.

Do you speak blessing?
Do you speak curse?
Do you speak good?
Do you speak un-good?

These words…these deeds will return to us.

What is the fruit of our mouths?
What are the deeds of our hands?

Ask/allow the Spirit to examine you…

“Ensnared”

December 6, 2021

“Ensnared”

Blessings folk!

The Proverbist keeps driving home the truth.
The Wicked/Evil.
The Righteous.

Which are you?
Which do you live?

Pro 12:12-13
The wicked person desires the plunder of evil people,
But the root of the righteous yields fruit.

An evil person is ensnared by the offense of his lips,
But the righteous will escape from trouble.

A wicked person wants the plunder from evil people.
Think on that.
The wicked want the “fruit” of the wicked.
“Fruit” taken at the expense of others.
The evil are ensnared by their own lips.

The Righteous?
The Righteous yield fruit, from the root!
Vessels of fruit are who the Righteous are!
The Righteous will escape trouble.
This does not mean that trouble does not come.
Surely it will.
But, the Righteous shall escape…ultimately.

Examine yourself to see which you be.

“Work”

December 5, 2021

“Work”

Blessings folk!

What do you pursue?
Where is your heart?
For what do you work?

Pro 12:11
One who works his land will have plenty of bread,
But one who pursues worthless things lacks sense.

Are you working the “land” that the Lord has granted to you?
The life the Lord gave you?
Or…
Are you pursuing worthless things?
Are you lacking sense?

What should we be pursuing?

Mat 6:33
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness,
and all these things will be provided to you.

Pursue His Kingdom.
Pursue His Righteousness.

Work…

2 Th 3:10-12
For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order:
if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.

For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life,
doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies.

Now we command and exhort such persons in the Lord Jesus Christ
to work peacefully and eat their own bread.

Do the work with the right heart…serving the Lord.

Col 3:23-24
Whatever you do, do your work heartily,
as for the Lord and not for people,

knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance.
It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

“Cruel Compassion”

December 4, 2021

“Cruel Compassion”

Blessings folk!

Note these truths about the Righteous vs. the unrighteous.

Pro 12:8
A person will be praised according to his insight,
But one of perverse mind will be despised.

Those perverted of mind (heart} will be/are despised.
Despised by who?
God.
The Righteous.

The Righteous will be praised…according to the insight they have…from the Lord.

 Pro 12:9
Better is one who is lightly esteemed and has a servant,
Than one who honors himself and lacks bread.

The unrighteous/wicked honors himself…and lacks.
It is better to be lightly esteemed with a servant. Basic needs are met.

Then this one.
Interesting…how we treat our animals is important and reflective of the individual.

 Pro 12:10
A righteous person has regard for the life of his animal,
But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.

The Righteous has regard for the life of his animal.
The Wicked?
Even their compassion is cruel.

Think on that.
Even their compassion is cruel.

Pursue righteousness.
Be Righteous.

“Thoughts”

December 3, 2021

“Thoughts”

Blessings folk!

The Proverbist returns to comparing righteous vs. wicked….

Pro 12:5-7
The thoughts of the righteous are just,
But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

The words of the wicked wait in ambush for blood,
But the mouth of the upright will rescue them.

The wicked are overthrown and are no more,
But the house of the righteous will stand.

The Righteous?
- their thoughts are just…right
- their mouth will rescue them…speak the correct/righteous truth
- their house will stand firm…in righteousness

The Wicked?
- their counsel is deceitful
- their words wait for ambush
- their words seek blood
- they will be over thrown
- they will be no more

Learn from the Word.

Learn the Life of the Righteous.

Reject the way of the wicked.

It is by the Power of the Lord that we do so.

“Excellent Wife”

December 2, 2021

“Excellent Wife”

Blessings folk!

As the Proverbist describes good/evil, righteous/wicked he will “throw in” a pointed example from time to time.

He does so now…

Pro 12:4
An excellent wife is the crown of her husband,
But she who shames him is like rottenness in his bones.

Well that is direct.

An excellent=virtuous wife is the crown of her husband.

“Excellent” carries the idea of “strength”, “influence”, “wealth”, “ability”, “might”.

When referring to women, it speaks of virtuous character.

But, what of a woman who is not excellent?

She brings shame to her husband.

She is as rottenness in his bones…well that is descriptive.

“Shame” is used in the sense that we use it…as well as to be disappointing, disconcerting.

Think of the outcome of rotten bones.

All will collapse.

Such is a “shameful/wicked/unrighteous” woman.

Be excellent.

We will see more later…especially Proverbs 31.

“Stupid”

December 1, 2021

“Stupid”

Blessings folk!

The Proverbist continues to reveal the truths of the upright/righteous and the wicked/evil.

Pro 12:1-3

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
But he who hates reproof is stupid.

A good man will obtain favor from the LORD,
But He will condemn a man who devises evil.

A man will not be established by wickedness,
But the root of the righteous will not be moved.

The Righteous
- loves discipline/reproof
- loves knowledge
- is a good man
- will obtain favor from the Lord
- will be rooted…unmovable in the Lord.

The Wicked
- hates reproof…discipline
- is stupid
- devises evil
- is condemned by the Lord
- will not be established…stable, secure, prepared, set up

The choice can not be clearer.

The way of righteousness is the way of life.
The way of wickedness is the way of death.

Choose with every breath the way you should go.
Choose righteousness.
Be unmovable.
