“Man: A Fig Leaf”

Blessings folk!

The Man and Woman ate from the tree.
The one thing God had forbid.
They did.

What happened next?

Exactly what the Lord said would.

They died.

No, their bodies did not collapse in a heap.
Their bodies did die.
It would take many years for them to expire.

The union with God was broken.
I believe the protective covering of the shekinah glory of the Lord was lifted.
Therefore…

Gen 3:7-8

Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

Their eyes were opened.
They saw they were naked.
They “knew” things.
The covering of the Lord was gone?

They sowed fig leaves and made loincloths.
The best man can do to cover sin is a fig leaf.
So interesting.
Why cover particular regions of the body?
Why leave others exposed?

Rebellion had occurred - sin.
Death was now invited into creation.
Shame was the outcome.

Shame to such a degree that they hid themselves from the Lord.

Some curious truths…
the Lord walk in the garden in the cool of the day
they heard Him
the Lord walked among them
the Lord made sound
the garden had an ebb/flow of temperature

Heartbreaking.

But, soon some day, all will be restored…
