“Now, May Our Lord and God…”

“Now, May Our Lord and God…”

Blessings folk!

Paul brings a point of summation to what we call the second chapter of 2 Thessalonians.

He is not yet finished…has one more “chapter”.

Read what the Spirit was leading him to write…

2 Th 2:16-17

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father,
who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,

comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

Give close heed and rejoice in this doxological declaration.

Paul was calling for “our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father” to do something.

Paul wanted the Lord/Father to comfort.
Paul wanted the Lord/Father to strengthen their hearts.
Comfort and strengthen in every good work and word.

The same God who loved them…and us.
The same God who gave them…and us…eternal comfort.
The same God who gave them…and us…good hope by His grace.

This is what the Lord does for those who believe.
He loves.
He gives eternal comfort.
He gives good hope by grace.
He strengthens our heart in every good work and word.

Therefore, why worry?
Why fret?
Why walk in anything other way than the very Presence of the Lord?
