“Amazed and Fearful”

Blessings folk!

The disciples were amazed at all that Jesus taught and did.

Sometimes they just “viewed from afar”.

Read.
Note that Jesus was walking ahead.
Ahead of what?
Note the disciples reaction.
Then, note what Jesus said…

Mar 10:32-34

They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him,

saying,
“Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem,
and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles.

“They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him,
and three days later He will rise again.”

Why were they amazed?
Why were they fearful?
Why was Jesus walking ahead?

I suspect that the truth of what Jesus was about to tell them was bearing upon Him.
I know that He was communing/communicating with Father.
Father let Him know it was time to explain in more detail.

Jesus was succinct.

They were going to Jerusalem.
There was a purpose.
He, the Son of Man, would be delivered to the chief priests and scribes.
They would condemn Him.
He would be handed over to the Gentiles.
They would mock Him.
They would spit on Him.
They would scourge Him.
They would kill Him.
And…
Three days later He would rise again…from the dead.

The disciples knew.
He told them.
And yet, we will see how they acted…reacted…

We know.
He has told us.
What are we doing?
