“Joy, Amazement”

Blessings folk!

Luke 24:36-53
36 While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be to you.”
37 But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.
38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 “See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
40 And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet.
41 While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?”
42 They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish;
43 and He took it and ate it before them.

The disciples were dumbfounded.
Jesus simply appeared in their midst.
He calmed them…”peace be to you”.
Yet, they were still startled and frightened…as all of us would be.
They were uncertain as to what they were seeing...a spirit?

Jesus asks why they were troubled...why they doubted in their hearts.
He then proved that He was flesh...see My hand, My feet, touch.
Jesus has flesh and bones.
They still could not believe.

He ate to prove that He was a real body.

Joy.
Amazement.

This is the Lord Who redeems the world.

Why are we ever startled?
Why are we ever frightened?
Why are we ever troubled?
Why do we ever doubt?

Live in the joy and amazement of the resurrected Lord.
