“You Are My Lamp”

Blessings folk!

We continue through the song of praise David lifted unto the Lord.

The question for us today is this…
“Who is the Lord to you?”

2 Sa 22:29-31

“For You are my lamp, O LORD;
And the LORD illumines my darkness.

“For by You I can run upon a troop;
By my God I can leap over a wall.

“As for God, His way is blameless;
The word of the LORD is tested;
He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

David declared that the Lord was…

  • His lamp, illuminating the darkness
  • His strength, whereby he was victorious of a troop of enemies…literally “run through”, he could leap over a wall

David declared that the way of the Lord is blameless.
The Word of the Lord is tested.

The Lord is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Who lights your path?
From where is your strength derived?
Whose word guides you?
Who is your shield?
Who is your refuge?

Sadly, for most…even professing “christians”…it is something else other than the Lord.

Such should not be.
