Blessings folk!

In what do you rejoice?
Getting your way?
Accumulating stuff?
Etc. etc.

Hear the Word of the Lord.

Yesterday we saw in 1 Peter 1:3-5 we have received an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, will not fade away, and is reserved in heaven at the moment.
We also saw that we are protected by the power of God.
This is through faith in Him

Read the next verses..especially verse 6a…

1 Peter 1:6-9
6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
7 so that the proof of your faith,being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,9 obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

“In this we greatly rejoice…”
In what?
In salvation ready to be revealed in the last time…
In the inheritance we have…
In God’s mercy…
In the living hope that is the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

We are to rejoice…

Even though…

Now, for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials…

If necessary?

We will look at that later.

For now, rejoice in what God has done for each believer.
Know that rejoicing is not determined by circumstance, but by faith in the Lord.
