“Days of Noah”

Blessings folk!

Jesus tells us that only Father knows the day and hour of the Lord’s return.
Only Father knows the timing of all that will occur with the parousia of the Lord.

Jesus then gives three examples that give us insight.
The foundational truth that He is communicating is that we should live in expectant readiness.

Matthew 24:37-39
37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
38
For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,
39
and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Jesus compares the time of the coming of the Son of Man with the days of Noah.

Again, Jesus believed in Noah.
He believed the biblical narrative of Noah, his family, the state of the world and the universal flood.
Much of the “church” today does not believe.
They are rebelling in the face of the Lord.

What were the days of Noah like?
People were eating.
People were drinking.
People were marrying.
People were giving in marriage.

The picture is man carrying on in life.
A life that rejected God.

They were “unaware” until the flood came.
Not unaware due to ignorance.
The Word tells us that Noah preached the truth to them.
They chose not to believe and were therefore swept away.

2 Peter 2:5
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

So it will be when the Son of Man returns.

Man refuses to believed.

They will be “swept away”.
