“Listen. Hear. Forgive”

Blessings folk!

Solomon continues praying…

2 Ch 6:21
“Listen to the supplications of Your servant and of Your people Israel
when they pray toward this place;
hear from Your dwelling place, from heaven;
hear and forgive.

Solomon request of the Lord - “listen”. “Hear”.

Listen to the supplications of Your servant - the King.
Listen to the supplications of Your people - Israel.

Supplications?

A word we use in religious circles.
We “sorta know what it means”… LOL

In the vernacular of our day it means “to ask for a favor”.
To request “favor”.

Solomon was asking the Lord to grant favor when they prayed “toward this place”.

“Toward this place”?

Yes.

They prayed “toward the Temple”.
The Temple was the Presence of God, even though Solomon readily, and quickly, confirmed the reality that the Lord was elsewhere…

Solomon asked that the Lord would “hear from Your dwelling place, from heaven”.

Solomon, and the people, knew that the Lord dwelt in heaven (heaven…another topic for another time).
They also knew that He made His Presence known in the temple.
They also knew that God was without limit as far as His Presence…omnipresent.

(Interesting truths when we consider that True Believers are the “temple of the Lord&hellipWinking

 1 Co 3:16
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

 1 Co 3:17
If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him,
for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.

 1 Co 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you,
whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

Solomon asked the Lord to hear and forgive.

So,
Listen Lord!
Hear Lord!
Forgive Lord!

Live as the temple of the Lord…
