“Error of Balaam - 20”

Blessings folk!

Balaam was beginning to understand some things.

Read…

Num 24:1-5

When Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel,
he did not go as at other times to seek omens but he set his face toward the wilderness.

And Balaam lifted up his eyes and saw Israel camping tribe by tribe;
and the Spirit of God came upon him.

He took up his discourse and said,
“The oracle of Balaam the son of Beor,
And the oracle of the man whose eye is opened;

The oracle of him who hears the words of God,
Who sees the vision of the Almighty,
Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered,

How fair are your tents, O Jacob,
Your dwellings, O Israel!

Balaam now saw and understood that it pleased the Lord to bless Israel.
Balaam had already spoken the Word of blessing twice.

We also learn something.
He did not “go as at other times to seek omens”.
He was seeking omens and the Lord.
Syncretism.
The blending together of the false with the true.
Many do the same today…even believers.

Balaam now went to the wilderness to see the people.

When he saw them something occurred.
The Spirit of God came upon him.
His eyes were opened…he states that!

He spoke an oracle…a proclamation of truth.

Balaam’s eyes were now open.
He saw the vision of the Almighty
He was humbled.
His eyes were now uncovered.
Balaam’s ears heard the Words of the Lord.

He continues to bless Israel…
How fair are her tents…O Jacob…
How fair are her dwelling places…O Israel… (remember, Jacob/Israel are the same person&hellipWinking

Blessing, not curse.
Word of the Lord, not of man.
