“John the Baptist From the Dead…”

Blessings folk!

The twelve were sent by Jesus to preach.
They did.
They preached repentance.
They cast out demons.
They healed.

Word was spreading.
People were wondering.

At this point we see a convergence of a past event with current events.
Herod heard.
Herod was worried.
Why?

We will see…in detail…

For today, note what the people were thinking and saying…

Mar 6:14-16

And King Herod heard of it, for His name had become well known; and people were saying, “John the Baptist has risen from the dead,
and that is why these miraculous powers are at work in Him.”

But others were saying, “He is Elijah.”
And others were saying, “He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of old.”

But when Herod heard of it, he kept saying, “John, whom I beheaded, has risen!”

Many believed that “He” - Jesus - was John the Baptist raised from dead.
They believed that was the reason for the miraculous powers.

Others believed its was Elijah.

When Herod heard, he was in a panic.
He had killed John.
Now, he believed, John was raised from the dead.

The people/Herod had no problem believing that someone had been raised from the dead.
They were seeking for some explanation for what they are seeing/hearing about.

Yet, they still did not now Who Jesus was.

So is today…
