“Fled Naked”

Blessings folk!

Jesus was being arrested.
It was intense.

Peter had cut the ear off of a servant of the High Priest.
Jesus healed the servant.

Jesus asks why they sought to arrest Him in this manner when He was in the Temple daily?
Jesus then says it is to fulfill prophecy.

The disciples flee at that Word.
They had said they would never forsake nor deny Jesus, yet now they all run.

How quickly did they flee?

Read…

Mar 14:51-52
And there followed him a certain young man,
having a linen cloth cast about his naked body;
and the young men laid hold on him.

And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

A certain young man, likely not one of the disciples, was following Jesus.
He was also seized.
He literally ran out of this clothes.
A streaker. Happy
An original “tear-away” outfit. Happy

He fled naked.

It is generally agreed that the “certain young man” was Mark himself, the author of this letter.
Maybe.
Maybe not.

Regardless, know this.
It was an intense, difficult time.
The disciples thought they were prepared.
They thought they were ready.

Jesus tells us to be ready…Matthew 24-25, Mark 13, Luke 21.
Are you?

Extremely difficult times are just ahead.
