“Root of All Sorts of Evil…”

Blessings folk!

What is the motivation of your life?
What is your purpose when you arise in the morning?
What drives you?

For too many, even Believers, the motivation is stuff.
Riches.
Material gain.

Such should not be.
Such is the foundation for many of the problems that we encounter.

The Lord warned us.

1 Timothy 6:9-10
9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

If your desire is riches, then you will fall into temptation.
You will be ensnared.
Foolish and harmful desires will result.
You will be ruined.
You will be destroyed.

Why?

Because, the love of money...not money...but the love of money, is a root of all sorts of evil.

It is a heart issue.

Loving money will deny the ability to love God.
Money will be god.
Because of this, many have wandered away from the true faith.
Many have pierced themselves...note again...pierced themselves...with many griefs.

This does not mean that having money is evil.
The Lord blesses many with abundance.
The reality is that each of us is rich according to the historical standards of the world.
We all have more than one shirt, pair of shoes, etc.

We are rich.

Riches are given to meet needs of others, beginning with the household of faith.

When we have abundance of something, it is given to help others.

Seek first the Kingdom of God.
He will provide all else.

Give thanks for the blessings.
Share the blessings as the Lord directs.
