“Dead and Hidden”

Seek the things above.
A command of the Lord.
The strategy of the enemy?
To keep our attention on the thing below...the things we see...to distract.
We saw this yesterday…
Col 3:1-2
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
Now, read and meditate upon the next verse…
Col 3:3
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Look at the first word, “for”...and read again.
“For”= “because, in light of”
“For” what reason?
“For” what purpose?
We are to set our minds on the things above because we have died.
We have died to self.
We have died to the flesh.
We are dead to sin.
Rom 6:11
Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Rom 8:10
If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
We have died.
Our life is hidden with Christ in God.
Think on that.
This is true Life.
This is the Life of the Believer.
Life hidden, protected, guarded with Christ in God.
Life that has purpose and works foreordained before the foundations of the world were spoken into existence.
Eph 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
God prepared all before hand.
Walk in the works He has planned.
Embrace the daily death to self/flesh.
Rejoice in the Life that is hidden in Him.
