“Ask in My Name”

Blessings folk!!

Today’s reading:

John 16:23-28

Jesus is telling His disciples how their relationship to Him is about to change.
He had been with them.
He was now leaving.
Yet, He was not leaving them alone.

Up to this point they had not ask for anything “in My name.”
They did not need to.
Jesus was with them.

But, now Jesus tells them that if they ask the Father in My (Jesus) name, He (Father) will give it to you.

As we have seen before, this is not a carte blanche for the desires of the flesh.
This speaks of abiding in the Lord, asking in His name...by His leadership and character.
Is we do so, then we will be asking the very thing that God desires to do.
We will have the mind of God.

Jesus acknowledges speaking in a figurative language.
Now things will be plain.
The Spirit will speak/lead plainly.

Father loves us because we love Jesus.
Father loves us because we believe that Jesus came from Father to save.

He came to the world.
He returned to Father.
We await his return.

Meanwhile, love and pray.
