“Bitterness Springing Up”

Blessings folk!

Let us look a little more at the passage from yesterday…

Heb 12:14-16

Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.

See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God;
that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;

that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau,
who sold his own birthright for a single meal.

“Come short of the grace of God”?

The idea seems to be that we have role a and responsibility with OneAnother.

We need to make certain that we function in the grace of God, thereby, not quenching the Spirit and causing others to stumble.

We are to pursue peace with all men.
We are to walk in holiness.
We are not to neglect the grace of the Lord - in our lives or others.

The “see to it” begins with each person individually.
Do not be distracted by the speck in a brother’s eye while you have a log in your eye!

We must see to it that no root of bitterness springs up.
Again, beginning with ourselves.
This is a sad state that I see in many, especially those of age.
It is truly sad to see people at the end of life so bitter and embittered.

It all comes down to forgiveness.
Unforgiveness will fester until the root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble.
This bring defilement.
Many within the professing body of Christ are defiled.
They are bitter.
They are unforgiving.
They cause trouble.

There are more than a few.

The enemy uses such against the Kingdom.

Examine yourself.
Repent.
Be certain that you are not of the Embittered.
