Mark 8:15
And He was giving orders to them, saying,
“Watch out! Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

He told them to watch out!
He told them to beware…beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Herod.

What is the leaven?

The hypocrisy of the Pharisees.

Luk 12:1
Under these circumstances, after so many thousands of people had gathered together that they were stepping on one another, He began saying to His disciples first of all,
“Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

They would teach correctly, but do differently.

Matthew gives us insight…

Mat 16:11-12
“How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?
But beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread,
but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

Beware of the teaching of the Pharisees/Sadducees.

The same applies today.

Beware of false teaching.
Beware of someone who teaches Jesus plus something else.
Beware of someone who teaches the Bible plus something else.

The leaven of such false teaching will permeate and pervert the truth.

Beware!

Know the Truth!
Stand firm in the Truth!
