“Foolish”

Blessings folk!

After David numbered the people his heart troubled him.
Why?

He knew what he had done.
He had responded to a threat in the fear of man rather than the fear of God.
He prepared to trust in his resources rather than trusting in God.
He had not sought the Lord.
He had sinned greatly in what he did.

But now, he asked the Lord to remove the iniquity.
He acknowledged that he was a servant of God.
He acknowledged that he had acted foolishly.

2 Sa 24:10
Now David’s heart troubled him after he had numbered the people.
So David said to the LORD, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done.
But now, O LORD, please take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have acted very foolishly.”

What was God’s response?

We will see tomorrow.

As for today, know this.

The Lord sent His Word through His prophet…

2 Sa 24:11
When David arose in the morning,
the word of the LORD came to the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying,

The Word of the Lord.
It will be righteous.
It will be just.
It will be correct.

That does not mean comfortable…
