“Blessed…With Offspring and Steak”

Blessings folk!

Noah, his family and the animals had survived.
Just as God had said.
Just as God had planned.

They were now to continue in life.
They were to procreate.

Things were different, especially the weather.
There is now winter, spring, summer and fall.

Let’s continue to look at a couple of other things that are different…

Gen 9:1-3

And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.

“The fear of you and the terror of you will be on every beast of the earth and on every bird of the sky; with everything that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, into your hand they are given.

“Every moving thing that is alive shall be food for you; I give all to you, as I gave the green plant.

The Lord had told them to be fruitful and multiply…

Gen 8:15-17

Then God spoke to Noah, saying,

“Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.

“Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”

But, now we see some details.
God blessed them.
Exactly what is this blessing?
It obviously deals with being fruitful and multiplying and filling the earth.
They were blessed/empowered by the Lord to do so.
We have no account of Noah and his wife having more children, but we are all from Noah’s children.
Noah’s blessing came through the generations that came from him!

Then this.
The beasts of the earth, the birds of the air, the creeping things on the ground and the fish of the sea would now have fear and terror of man.
Apparently such was not the case before the Flood.

Lastly, every moving thing would now be food for man.
God said that He gave all, even as He had given the green plant.

So, these things changed…

  • the weather
  • the topography of earth
  • animals would fear man
  • animals were now food for man

Interesting, no?
