“Greater Works…”

Blessings folk!

Some wild weather about the nation last evening and today.
More is coming.

The very building complex where I sit was struck by a EF4 tornado 3 years ago.
Much physical destruction occurred.
The Lord spared lives.
Of this we are grateful.
There are things to be gleaned and understood from what occurred three years ago, but that is beyond the format (and likely interest Winking ) of this gathering.

Know this, the Lord guides the cloud and the lightening bolt. Job 37
Job’s children were taken to glory by a destructive wind, apparently initiated by satan and allowed by God. Job 1

Know this, the Lord speaks “peace, be still”.
Jesus calmed the storm with a Word.
He rebuked the wind.
The Creator spoke.
The creation responded.

Mark 4:38-40
King James Version (KJV)
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them,
Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

Jesus rebuked the wind.
Jesus rebuked the disciples.
Why were they fearful? Why are we?
Where was their faith? Where is ours?

Their fear and faith were in the circumstance and situation.
They feared what they saw.
They feared what they were experiencing.
Their faith was guided by the natural.
Their faith was in the natural.

They did turn to Jesus!

One last thought…

Give heed to what Jesus says…

John 14:11-13
New American Standard Bible (NASB)

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.
13 Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The works that Jesus did we will do...greater works

What is the Lord saying to us?
Will we hear?
Will we act?

Walk not in fear.
Live in faith.
Speak forth the Word of the Lord as He leads.
Glorify the Father through the Son.
