“You Established the Earth…”

Blessings folk!

We press on with the next stanza of Psalm 119.

We see the Word described as in previous stanzas…
  • Word
  • Ordinances
  • Law
  • Precepts
  • Testimonies
  • Commandment

The Psalmist declares some things and asks for some things that we have seen before.

There Is a subject covered that we have not seen….

Psa 119:89-96

Lamedh.
Forever, O LORD,
Your word is settled in heaven.

Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations;
You established the earth, and it stands.

They stand this day according to Your ordinances,
For all things are Your servants.

If Your law had not been my delight,
Then I would have perished in my affliction.

I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have revived me.

I am Yours, save me;
For I have sought Your precepts.

The wicked wait for me to destroy me;
I shall diligently consider Your testimonies.

I have seen a limit to all perfection;
Your commandment is exceedingly broad.

The Psalmist…

  • The Law is his delight
  • Would have perished without the Law
  • Will never forget the Lord’s precepts
  • Revived by the precept of the Lord
  • The Psalmist is the Lord’s
  • The Psalmist calls for the Lord to save him
  • The Psalmist sought the Lord’s precepts
  • Considered the Lord’s testimonies when the wicked attacked
  • Has seen a limit to all

Look at what we learn about the Lord and His Word.

The Word is settled in heaven forever.
FOREVER!

Then this…

The Lord established the earth.
He created the earth.
The earth stands.
“They stand this day according to Your ordinances…”
They?
All of creation.
Sun.
Moon.
Stars.
All

Then this…
“For all things are Your servants.”

The faithfulness of the Lord continues throughout all generations.
All creation serves Him.
The Word of the Lord controls all.
