We have here the accounts of Jesus driving out the moneychangers, etc. from the temple.

It looks as if He might have done so on at least two separate occasions.
Once at the beginning of His public time...another at the end.

Here are the truths to be gleaned.

The Temple was the “house of God.”
It was a House of Prayer.
Yet, man had turned it into a den of thieves with the moneychanging, bartering, etc. that took place within.

Why the business transactions?

To expedite the sacrificial system required by God.

Man had brought sin into that required by God.

Jesus drove out the sin and corruption.

He does the same today.

The body of the Believer is the temple of the Most High.

We are to be a house of prayer, not a den of iniquities.
We are not to carry about the “merchandise of sin.”
The zeal of the Lord for His house...us...should consume us.

Does He?
