“Ish-boseth"

Blessings folk!

David was anointed king of Judah.
But, who was king of Israel?

Glad you asked. Happy

2Sa 2:8-11

But Abner the son of Ner, commander of Saul’s army,
had taken Ish-bosheth the son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim.

He made him king over Gilead, over the Ashurites, over Jezreel, over Ephraim,
and over Benjamin, even over all Israel.

Ish-bosheth, Saul’s son, was forty years old when he became king over Israel, and he was king for two years. The house of Judah, however, followed David.

The time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah
was seven years and six months.

Ish-boseth was “made” king one Israel by Abner.
He ruled two years.

The timing elements provided are important…as we will see.

David ruled as king over the house of Judah…for seven years and six months.
But he was anointed king over Israel by Samuel.

Wonder how that is gonna work out?
