“The Battle is the Lord’s - Part 1”

Blessings folk!

A little diversion today from Mark…
Turned out long…so a two-parter. Happy

Many organizational churches have spent the past few days seeking as to how they should “respond” to the mass shooting at FBC Sutherland Springs, TX.

Everything I have read…
All denominational suggestions…
All conference writings…
All the suggestions of man have been exactly that - suggestions of man.

They have the “common-sense” tactics of man and the world.
  • Lock the doors of the church building
  • Hire security guards
  • Train security teams
  • Etc.

Some even stray into non-sensical political correctness.
  • Forbid conceal carry of protection - yep, one major denomination state-rep demanded it
  • The same representative suggest the “run/hide/fight” video produced by the government… a rather simplistic, if not foolish, presentation of what to do in an attack highlighted by “attempt to incapacitate the shooter, act with physical aggression, improvise weapons.”

I have yet to read any suggestions…
I have yet to see a video…
I have yet to hear a discussion…
None have sought the Word of the Lord.

What does the Lord say about such things?
What does the Lord say to do?

We must know the truth of the Lord.
Then, we must commit to the deeds founded upon these truths.

The default position of the True Believer must be to act/react in the Spirit.
We are not to act/react in the flesh and strategies of man and the world.

Know these truths.

Our battle is not against flesh and blood…

Eph 6:12
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,
against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness,
against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Our “methods” are not of man…

2Co 10:3-4
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,

for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh,
but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.

We have divine power in the name of the Lord.

What are we to do?

Be prepared.

Yes, be prepared in the natural.

Luk 22:35-36

And He said to them, “When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.”

And He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his oat and buy one.

Even more so, be prepared in the Spirit.

Eph 6:10-17

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Put on the full armor of God,
so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day,
and having done everything, to stand firm.

Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH,
and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,

and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;

in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

… to be continued…
