“Refuge from Enemies”

Blessings folk!

The Psalmist had enemies.
Those who came against him.
They were many.
They hated him...with violent hatred…

Read his response.

Psalm 25:19-20
19 Look upon my enemies, for they are many,
And they hate me with violent hatred.
20 Guard my soul and deliver me;
Do not let me be ashamed, for I take refuge in You.

The Psalmist sought the Lord to deal with those who declared themselves enemies.

He asked God to look upon his enemies.
He knew that true deliverance/victory would only come through the Lord.

He asked God to guard his soul.
Guard his soul?
The “soul” is the “seat of the emotions”.
The Psalmist is asking God to control his emotions. To guard his response and way.

He asked God to deliver him.
He trusted the Lord for deliverance, not himself.

He asked the Lord to not allow shame to come upon him.

He declared that he takes refuge in the Lord.

In what/whom do you take refuge?

The Lord will guard and deliver His folk...if we allow.

Rejoice.
Take refuge in Him.
