Blessings folk!
Paul and friends prayed for the Believers in Thessalonica.
They kept them in mind…especially their
- work of faith
- labor of love
- steadfastness of hope
- God’s choice of them
They reminded the Believers of how the gospel had come in…
- Word
- Power
- the Holy Spirit
- full conviction
Paul/friends proved by their lives to be this kind of men.
There is more.
Give close heed.
1 Th 1:6-7
You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit,
so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.
Paul says that the Believers had become imitators of them and the Lord.
Think on that for a moment.
How had they become “imitators”?
Imitators of Paul by receiving the Word/believing in the midst of much tribulation.
Imitators of the Lord. The Lord experienced tribulation.
They received the Word joyously in the Holy Spirit.
They therefore became an example to all believers in the region.
An example of receiving in tribulation.
An example of joy in tribulation.
Receive!
Imitate.
Be the example!
