“The Lord Is My Portion”
Blessings folk!
The Psalmist begins another stanza in Psalm 119 - “Heth”
Psalm 119:57-60
Heth
57 The Lord is my portion;
I promise to keep your words.
58 I entreat your favor with all my heart;
be gracious to me according to your promise.
59 When I think on my ways,
I turn my feet to your testimonies;
60 I hasten and do not delay
to keep your commandments.
The Psalmist makes several strong declarations.
These declarations are not based upon his mere desire.
They are based upon this - “the Lord is my Portion”.
Therefore…
I will promise to keep Your words
I entreat your favor with all my heart
I turn my feet to your testimonies...Your Word…when I think on my ways...the ways of the flesh, the ways that are not God’s.
I hasten to keep Your commandments.
I do not delay to keep Your commandments.
So, the question is ours.
Is the Lord your Portion?
Do you hasten to turn to Him and His commandments?
Seek the Lord’s favor with all your heart.
Keep His Words/Ways/Testimonies/Commandments.
Then will life be abundant.
