“Ascribe! Give! To the Lord”

Blessings folk!

Asaph and his relatives continue to worship the Lord.

Remember, they do so before the Ark of the Covenant located in the tent that David built for it.

I am still amazed by that…the ramifications thereof…

1 Ch 16:27-29

Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and joy are in His place.

Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him;
Worship the LORD in holy array.

Look at what they proclaimed.
Look at what we are to proclaim/declare.

Splendor and majesty are before Him…the Lord.
Strength and joy are in His place.

Such describe who God is…His character.
Splendor!
Majesty!
Strength!
Joy!
Glory!

We are to ascribe to the Lord these things!

“Ascribe” means to “give unto”, “to pay attention” to.

The KJV translates best…

1Ch 16:28-29

Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name:
bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Give unto the Lord.
Pay attention.

He is the source of all..

  • Splendor
  • Majesty
  • Strength
  • Joy
  • Power
  • Glory

Anything else that we ascribe worth to is but an idol.
Reject such.
