"He Will..."

“He Will…”

Blessings folk!

Gabriel, the angel, appeared to Mary and greeted her…

Luke1:28

And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”

Favored one.
The Lord is with her.

How did Mary react?

Luk 1:29

But she was very perplexed at this statement,
and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.

She was perplexed at the statement.
She did not understand why he was greeting her in such manner.
She pondered the salutation.

Luke 1:30-33

The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary;
for you have found favor with God.

“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son,
and you shall name Him Jesus.

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High;
and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;

and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever,
and His kingdom will have no end.”

As usually occurs with an angelic encounter, he tells her to fear not. then clarifies.

Mary had found favor with God.

How?

By her deeds?
By her faith?
By her understanding?

All are important, but they do not bring qualification.

Favor found with God is from God.
He gives the favor.

Gabriel then brings the news.
Mary will conceive.
She will bear a Son.
He is to be called Jesus. He will be great.
He will be called Son of the Most High.
The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
He will reign over the house of Jacob forever.
His Kingdom will have no end.

Mary was told what was to occur from that moment through all eternity.
We celebrate His coming the first time, but in the midst of that story are references to the balance of time.

Jesus fulfilled a portion of this Word to Mary when He came.
The rest will be fulfilled when He returns.
His Kingdom.
His Reign.
His Throne.
Forever.
Amen.
