Rom 6:10-11
For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Jesus died to sin once for all.
The Life He lives is to God.

We are likewise.
Those of us “in Him”.

We are to consider ourselves to be dead to sin.
This does not mean that we will not be tempted to sin.
This does not mean that that the fiery darts of the enemy will cease.
This does not mean that we can not choose to sin.

It does mean that we are empowered by the Spirit to make a decision.
We choose to resurrect the old man and his sinful ways.
Or, we choose to consider ourselves to be dead to sin.
Positionally we are dead to sin.
How we live is our decision.

We are also to consider ourselves to be alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Positionally we are.
How we live is our decision.

Choose life in Christ.
Reject sin and the death that it brings.

Embrace death to self and sin.

Then, watch what the Lord does…
