“Error of Balaam - 26”

Blessings folk!

Balaam continues his discourse of “advise” to Balak.
The Lord had revealed things to Balaam.

Now, I believe, Balaam was communicating these things to Balak to endear himself to Balak…who knows?

Note how he directs specific statements toward specific peoples/geographical region.
Remember, they were standing on a mountain…likely able to overlook the regions.

Num 24:20-25

And he looked at Amalek and took up his discourse and said,
“Amalek was the first of the nations,
But his end shall be destruction.”

And he looked at the Kenite, and took up his discourse and said,
“Your dwelling place is enduring,
And your nest is set in the cliff.

“Nevertheless Kain will be consumed;
How long will Asshur keep you captive?”

Then he took up his discourse and said,
“Alas, who can live except God has ordained it?

“But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim,
And they shall afflict Asshur and will afflict Eber;
So they also will come to destruction.”

Then Balaam arose and departed and returned to his place, and Balak also went his way.

Amalek, once first among the nations, will be destroyed.
The Kenites, who trusted in their high dwelling places for protection, will be consumed.
Ships would come from the coast of Kittum.
They would destroy.

The bottom line is in the question.
Who can live except God has ordained it?
Think on that…
