"Grieve Not the Spirit..."

“Grieve Not the Spirit…”

Blessings folk!

Another command.
Another instruction.
A serious one which the Body of Christ often does not consider.

Ephesians 4:30
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

The command: do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God.
So, apparently it is possible to grieve the Spirit.
True Believers have the Holy Spirit.
False believers do not.
True Believers can grieve...quench...inhibit the Spirit.
How?
Any number of ways which we have already seen.
Simply put, if we are not abiding in the Lord, then we are grieving the Spirit.
Sin...living outside the abiding of the Lord via the Spirit...is grieving the Spirit.

We learn something else about the Spirit.
The Spirit seals us for the day of redemption.

But, are we not already redeemed?
Yes.
But, the day of redemption is yet to come.
We were saved, at some point in time.
We are continuing to be saved.
We will be saved.

There is much yet to come of our redemption and salvation.

The Spirit seals us...protects us...preserves us for the time to come.

Grieve not the Spirit.
Live in the Spirit.
