“See to It…Not Mislead”

Blessings folk!

The disciples questioned Jesus…

Mar 13:4
“Tell us, when will these things be,
and what will be the sign when all these things are going to be fulfilled?”

Jesus began to answer…

Mar 13:5
And Jesus began to say to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.

We have examined these Scriptures several times in the past, but they bear constant review.

The first thing that Jesus tells them is to “see to it that no one misleads you”.
“See to it”.
They/we have a role and responsibility to see that we are not misled.

We can not just say “we did not know”.
We can not place blame upon others.
It is our role.
We are to “see to it”.

Misleading.
Deception.
Lies.

Such are rampant within the “professing” church today.

But, is that what the Lord is referring to?

The next verse explains…

Mar 13:6
“Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He!’ and will mislead many.

There will be many that will come “in His name” and declare that “I am he”.
Yes, false messiahs is the main teaching in view.

But, I think there may be more.

I think it also reveals that there will those who come “in My name”…they declare the name of the Lord…they believe that HE is “I AM”…yet they mislead many.

They are ministers of false righteousness.

Matthew confirms…

Mat 24:4-5

And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.

“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.

Luke gives more insight…

Luk 21:8
And He said, “See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name, saying,
‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not go after them.

These false messiahs, false prophets, false teachers, false believers will declare “the time is near”.

Jesus said “do not go after them.”

Seek the Lord.
Know His Word.
Be filled with the Spirit.
Then, you will be able to “see to it that you are not misled.”

Otherwise, you will be misled…and likely already are…
