“Strengthened and Straight”

Blessings folk!

Discipline is not exciting.
At the moment it is not joyful.
But, it brings good fruit, the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Heb 12:11
All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful;
yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.

Now, watch…

Heb 12:12-13
Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble,

and make straight paths for your feet,
so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed.

Therefore…in light of all we have seen…
The cloud of witnesses.
Laying aside of sin and encumbrance.
Running the race.
Fixing our eyes on Jesus.
Considering Jesus.
The Lord’s discipline.

Therefore…
Strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble.
Make straight paths for your feet.
Be healed.

At first glance it appears that we are to do so for one another.
This is true.
But, the strongest interpretation seems to be to start with oneself.

The idea is this.
Strengthen your weak hands via the discipline of the Lord.
Strengthen your feeble needs via the discipline of the Lord.
Make straight your path via the discipline of the Lord.
Be healed via the discipline of the Lord.
Strength and straight paths are found in the discipline of the Lord.
