“As for You…”

“As for You…”

Blessings folk!

Abram was in a deep sleep.
The Lord was speaking to him.
The Lord was revealing the future to him.
The Lord was answering his question.

Abram would have descendants.
He would have many, though at the moment he had none.
The descendants would be in slavery for 400 years in a strange land.
They would go out with abundance.
God would judge the oppressing nation.

Then, this…

Gen 15:15-16

“As for you, you shall go to your fathers in peace;
you will be buried at a good old age.

“Then in the fourth generation they will return here,
or the iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete.”

The Lord reveals what would occur to Abram.

“You shall go to your fathers in peace…”
He would die, yet in peace.

“You will be buried at a good old age.”
He would live a long life.
He would have a good life.

“Then in the fourth generation they will return here…”
His descendants will return to the land.
Remember, they would be in a strange/foreign land.
God had told Abram that they would be there 400 years.
400 divided 4=100
In this context, a generation is 100 years.

“For iniquity of the Amorite is not yet complete”
The iniquity/sin of those upon the land that the Lord had given Abram was not complete.
The Lord would command Abram’s descendants to deal with the Amorites (and others).

Abram received all this from the Lord.
During a time of deep sleep.
During a time of worship.
But wait, there is more… Happy Happy
