“Seek the Lord”

Blessings folk!

One of the most interesting accounts related to “fear/fear not” occurs with the people of the Lord and King Jehoshaphat.

Let us begin to look at it.

Note the situation.
Note the response of the King and the people.

2 Ch 20:1-4

Now it came about after this that the sons of Moab and the sons of Ammon,
together with some of the Meunites, came to make war against Jehoshaphat.

Then some came and reported to Jehoshaphat, saying, “A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea, out of Aram and behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar (that is Engedi).”

Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the LORD,
and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

So Judah gathered together to seek help from the LORD;
they even came from all the cities of Judah to seek the LORD.

A great multitude of enemy came against Jehoshaphat.
His response?
He feared.
What did he do with the fear?
He turned his attention to the Lord.

Again, think on this.
He turned his attention to the Lord.

He sought the Lord.
He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

They all sought the Lord.

Notice, “seek the Lord” is repeated three times.

What is our response when fear comes against us?

Do we seek the Lord in faith?
Or…
Do we embrace the fear in the flesh?

Turn your attention to the Lord and seek Him.
